Why middle management is so negative?

There are 50% chances that Dan might fail but there are 50% chances that he might succeed to transform..
I do see lots of negativity among Band 5 leaders.. overheard negative talk on the floor after All hands..
why can’t these middle layer leaders do not want to give it a fair chance ?
Looks like Dan made these ultra comfortable people uneasy and they are not liking it.

I don't think the damage here can be fixed

At this point, I'm convinced the damage done to this company is irreversible. The problems are so deep and systemic now that even the most talented leadership team wouldn't be able to turn things around. We're past the point of a simple strategic shift or new vision. When the foundation is this broken, the whole structure is doomed. I'm not sure there's any coming back.

Why refuse jobs?

I keep seeing posts from people saying they can’t land a job, and I’m confused. So many who have been laid off seem to refuse anything that doesn’t feel perfect or exactly their level. How do you manage to be so picky if there’s no paycheck coming in? Do you think severance will last forever?

This year was exceptionally depressing

I was among the lucky few who actually had a great team. A few a--holes here and there, but otherwise solid, reliable colleagues. Somehow, we managed to overcome management’s shortcomings, make our tasks easier, and even have fun, or at least feel a sense of accomplishment. Yes, it was a cosmic accident, but it happened. I actually liked my work because of it.

Then the reorg came and destroyed the team. A few exceptionally competent and experienced teammates were let go, some were reassigned, and now my team is hollow and definitely less efficient and productive. The inability to recognize an excellent team says everything you need to know about leadership and management. I can only imagine the end result of reorg.

Nobody is happy, but maybe not Doom & Gloom?

Everyone's got their own experience and everyone's heard different things, but our union rep told us that Mastec has been pretty good at communicating (much better than Optimum when we organized), and that "Mastec is more union friendly than Optimum" so "it might actually work out better for you guys"

Apparently IBEW has a few contracts with Mastec already.

Anyone else's union reps say anything similar?

Yeah, grain of salt, but also it's a low f-ing bar to be more union friendly than Optimum.

On the other hand, CEOs and execs make millions by eliminating entire departments, and nobody does a GD thing about it, so what can we really expect?

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that the downward spiral will continue

There’s no real chance of recovery on the path we’re on, especially with the people steering the wheel. At this point it barely matters whether the next cuts land in December or later. They’re coming. It would just be nice if, for once, the people responsible actually took the blame. It’s absurd to pretend anyone but leadership is accountable for the state of affairs.

A Realistic & Pragmatic View

I would like to begin by confirming that I am not a director, executive, or line manager. I am simply an employee. I am not highly paid, nor do I receive bonuses, but my salary is sufficient to cover my bills and support my family. I am also very realistic and fully aware that DXC is not a company known for offering high salaries or for awarding annual pay increases to all employees.

I have been with the company for five years and have received one pay increase during that time, which was small. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoy my role. The work can certainly be stressful at times, but I do my best, and value both my colleagues and my direct line manager immensely.

If at any point my pay become untenable for what I need, then I would look for an alternative role, either within DXC or elsewhere. What truly baffles me is the constant stream of complaints, negativity, and, at times, disrespectful behaviour from individuals who believe they are owed more. Life is surely too short to carry such negativity. If someone feels their role is no longer fulfilling or financially viable, there are alternatives. Why poison yourself and those around you with such pessimism when that energy could be directed far more productively?

DXC does award pay increases, albeit not annually, and promotions are given when they are genuinely necessary. These decisions are not withheld out of reluctance, but because the company is simply not in a financial position to offer more. Whenever I receive a corporate message I disagree with, I pause to consider the reasoning behind it. There is always a context, whether or not I personally agree with the outcome.

Ultimately, I weigh the positives against the negatives, and if the balance ever tips unfavourably, I will take action and seek a change. I may view things differently from many others who post on this site, but I like to think that I am realistic and pragmatic in my approach.

You people down vote everything

Some people on here have shared some experiences and your reaction is to down vote it. I guess that makes you feel better? Burying your head in the sand?

I am sorry, but Verizon is going to be a horrible company to work for in the near future.

So go ahead and down vote people who post honest remarks if that makes you feel better. It won't change a thing.

Not everyone on this board is a troll.

Be cautious.

Be cautious of what you take from this forum -- there is a bias. People paranoid, with a negative mindset, or disgruntled are more likely to be on here -- that should be obvious.
Additionally anyone can post on here -- and if a Chinese group went through the trouble hack into the company, then this is low hanging fruit for any country that wants to cause chaos in the US economy. Just pop on an anonymous forum, and spew off rumors about upcoming layoffs -- incredibly easy way to manipulate the stock market.

I’m kinda resigned to my fate

I just don’t have the capacity to worry anymore. I don’t care about the date, I don’t care if I get to keep the job, and I don’t care about the state of the job market. If I work myself up to the point of being a basket case, I won’t be able to handle what’s coming anyway. And it’s not like this has been the best job ever, so losing it wouldn’t exactly be a life-defining tragedy.

I’m stressed out of my mind

Even getting through next week won’t calm me down. We all know there are more cuts coming. And, swear to God, months of job hunting have only made me more depressed. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone. Whatever happens to each of us, here’s hoping something better waits for us on the other side of this sh-tshow.

P&I leadership wiped out

Difficult day today for us old P&I staffers....seems like our entire MGT team has been wiped out. Tammy's reign of fire is upon us. I'm gonna believe her heart is in the right place but I'm in the minority. The mess that Deb Thorpe created (why was she feted so much when she left???) has finally come to bite us in the a-s. I don't feel good about where we're heading, gang.

if you are looking for jobs on LINKEDIN

linkedin is fu--ing broken. msft bought it and the whole thing changed.

too many ghost jobs. they sit for months.

companies want free publicity, they dont lie about it. some post just to meet federal rules.

outsiders won’t get those roles.

the rest are fu--ing sketchy. resume scrapers and offshore shops, just stealing data. they want contacts and h1-b angles. applicants send hundreds of resumes. almost no replies.

it's all now just about ads, not doing matches and u dont stand a chance there.

drifted away.... soooo frustrated. nothing feels seperate from the grift.

fu-k them.
