Thread regarding Highmark Health layoffs

Best and the brightest tossed to the curb

What a way to run a business.
Some companies use layoffs to get rid of dead wood. Not this place. They use layoffs to move more and more work to India (cheap labor). What’s the ratio now? If you can get an honest answer. How is the quality? Customer satisfaction? Upper management must be so proud.

IT areas. Dev, testing, test leads, BAs, PMs requirements leads all heavily outsourced on the for profit side. On the corporate side it's benefit coding , claims and customer service

I've been seeing quite a few jobs posted recently. Laid off enough and natural attrition finally forcing them to try to hire back some talent. You'd have to be pretty desperate to lesve a job to go tomorrow engen

The original target was 80/20 onshore/offshore ratio and my large division is now at 90/10. Only a handful are needed to be retained for mandated on shore citizenship required work efforts so we lose a couple each round of layoffs as more offshore get hired regularly. I've heard of the several hundred in the group they're looking to get to 95/5. Not sure if that is a mirror of company goals though.
