Thread regarding Highmark Health layoffs

Medicaid cuts

There's going to be a great big beautiful layoff with these proposed Medicaid cuts. Between that, and hearing Independence BCBS will be gone this month, it's a good time for prayers.

@gh sorry I have to explain to you the very obvious. Less people eligible for Medicaid, less members for health insurer including Highmark. Government pays per member for Medicaid. Revenue goes down. Guess what happens when revenue go down? Stop hating

Getting people that shouldn’t be eligible for Medicaid off it shouldn’t affect jobs at enGen but more onshore layoffs are always a good bet. Quality means nothing. Just salaries.

So we are good through the summer? Moving people to other teams doesn't seem like a good thing.

HHP just moved medicaid under enGen. Looks like future loss making area under enGen again. With ibc going and medicaid coming in, enGen won't post good results again.
There is some chatter about next round in September
