What do you all think is the future of Dental and Disability products? Have heard about old, clunky legacy systems that are complicated/messy, negative impacts of offshoring, disorganized teams, etc. Those are core products within USB and worried... — read more
TokenMaxxing: if you tell employees they will be judged by a number, they will make the number go up
https://www.zerohedge.com/ai/was-amazons-tokenmaxxing-fiasco-behind-claudes-500m-mystery-bill That's great. That's great. Seems like the sort of thing that could happen at MetLife as they try to measure who is "doing" AI.
The Exodus has begun
They're leaving in droves now before it gets worse. Which is hard to imagine. Better get while the gettin's good folks.

We’re all getting hit with the same weekly barrage. This isn’t shared responsibility, they’re offloading theirs onto us. The nonstop AI push is conditioning so no one pushes back when the PIPs start, because PIPs are cheaper than severances... — read more
Cost of living gap
The pay increases lately don’t match how expensive everything else has become. Not that anybody at the top gives a damn, as long as their bonuses keep getting larger.
Layoff Watch
I've heard about layoffs in GTO, HR, and USB. Where else are people getting chopped this month? Mother Met needs her sweet sweet stock buybacks.
The new normal
They cut two people from my team months ago and gave me their work. So now I'm carrying three roles. I've stopped caring about deadlines. I do what I can and the rest waits. If something is late, that's their problem now.
The axe has been sharpened!
Expect onshore, both FTE and Consultant, reductions now through June. Many TCS resources will be exchanged for MGCC employees. FTEs will be reduced through team consolidations. You will start to see movement soon.
1% Raise This Year. Is This Normal?
I received a 1% raise. The lowest raise I have received in my entire career. My performance review was great. Is this normal for everyone else or do they want people to leave voluntarily?
"Job Hugging" Is Undermining Workplace Outcomes: New MetLife Study

Doubling down ... code speak for?
So NN the new CIO says he's doubling down. That means for all the ones who have lengthy careers, we're out. Get your resume ready because he's going to flush the whole lot. Wonder how long it'll take the shadow ops team to pull this one down.
Retirement Planning and Advice
Just got mail from MetLife announcing "important updates to your MetLife 401(k) plan". #1 New Target-Date funds. Balance fund going away. Ok fine. #2 Access to Retirement Planning and Advice. Anybody have details on this? I couldn't find in the... — read more
Another Vendor Change
It’s not looking good for TCS. Plan A is moving to cheaper alternatives that better align with the mgcc workforce once the current TCS contract expires. Get ready for another round of knowledge and talent loss.

Predictions 2026
Well, 2025 is almost over. It's time to revisit the 2025 predictions and make new ones for 2026. I don't really know which rule the predictions thread violated, but the original 2025 Predictions thread disappeared after being up for a really long... — read more

RIS Town Hall
Thoughts on automation. Met is pushing this forward along with offshore. I see contracts as the first casualty.
I thought I’d seen bad cultures before, but Met takes the cake
People talk over you, credit gets stolen, and kindness feels like an oddity. It drains you faster than the work itself.
MetLife is fading to competition
Unless you’re dancing with the cobras, your job is in jeopardy. Offshoring is cheap now. But you get what you pay for. No innovation. No advancements. No improvements. There is an overall lack of understanding of US culture, well being, and best... — read more
Deleting Posts that tell the truth

Why is it so hard to get promoted?
Is it just a skill issue or is it really hard to get promoted without bullsh-tting a lot in meetings?

Worst Place to Work
Title says it all. Enough said.
Dreading Monday
I don't think I've ever dreaded Mondays as much as in the past few weeks. With everything that's been happening, just thinking about work gives me anxiety. I think I need a new job.
Why is there even a need for cuts?
So many people are already leaving voluntarily, yet they keep talking about cuts. It’s like they don’t see the bigger picture and are just determined to make things worse. The morale has been terrible for a while, and it doesn't help that the company... — read more

$500M in stock buybacks in Q2
And layoffs almost daily. Thanks for showing us you don't care about your employees!
How many people are actually being let go?
I keep hearing about layoffs all the time. People are being let go quietly, in small groups, allegedly one team at a time. It feels constant. Why is leadership so hush-hush about it? It’s ridiculous.
