How deep are the cuts going to go?

$1B is a shitload of "synergies." I've heard ~$300M of that will be G&A cuts (sic, layoffs). Doing some back of the envelope math, $300M divided by an average total comp burden of like $150-200k works out to like 1,500-2,000 jobs. He-l, even if it's $300k that's 1,000 jobs. DVN listed ~2,200 employees on their annual report and CTRA listed ~1,100, for a total of roughly 3,300. They can potentially hit that $300M target if the layoffs are 1,650 bodies, but that's half the current workforce.
Is that even feasible? How overworked will everyone be? Or do they plan to outsource jobs to contractors and overseas?

Jobs diversion to Verizon India

Have you recently check Verizon careers posted externally? All locations seems to be on India even Engineering Ops. Is this an operational strategy to cut cost where eyes are in India and fewer hands in US? I see a murky future for Verizon. Parts of it will be sold.

Perspective of a new graduate

I’m still new to ExxonMobil but I don’t know how our leaders think the actions they are taking don’t hurt our long term value. Short termism is very visible. The way good people are being treated is cruel and does not make us younger gen want to stay around. All of the people who want to teach us are leaving and I don’t many the ready to retire but the people who have been around for 10-20years are leaving and the gap is becoming more and more obvious with no one replacing them with the work being outsourced to India.

Then let’s go to the system and process. They just don’t work anymore. Any new system or software su-ks. career connect doesn’t work, D&S is even more opaque (maybe yet again the plan) and we’ve outsourced our pay, vacation.. basically everything with no accountability to fix or own any issues.

The foundation is sinking and it’s just getting worst. I’m leaving as soon as I can but investors and shareholders should be worried. DWW is feathering his nest for retirement but our stock will be impacted by the short term actions that will impact long term value

FIS staff deserve to be outsourced

Worst technical staff.
Business Process Analyst have zero knowledge to analyze business processes. If you ask question, they try to bluff you.
Software architects are even worse. They just throw big words, without understanding the meaning or technology behind it.
Company is doing right thing by outsourcing to Cognizant/Zensar

Another Heritage Fund is not meeting it's contract

Why does FIS take on the responsibilities for funds outsourcing their Transfer Agent (TA) and then do a cr-ppy job a la Franklin Templeton? Eager to sign the contract, woefully unprepared to fulfill its terms. Every move of FIS senior leadership is based on the short term. It's creaking along robbing Peter to pay Paul on the bottom line. When they fail to meet the terms they have to pay huge penalties. It's the same mistakes over and over.

A message for leadership.

The manner in which these layoffs were handled was atrocious and inhumane for both those affected and unaffected. The obvious lack of planning, the leak months in advance and the announcement right before the weekend are simply inexcusable and unkind. The buck stops with you.

The continued outsourcing of jobs to India from the very neighborhoods, county, city, state and country that supported you along the way and in which you freely operate today is simply no more than trading the livelihoods of your very own friends and neighbors for profit. Have you no shame or courage to do the right thing? Again, the buck stops with you.

Doubling down on Nike stock shortly before the layoffs occurred was truly in poor taste. Out of respect for those whose lives were going to be shortly upended, could one not have simply waited until after the layoffs to avoid the impropriety of having profited at the expense of those you once led? Does the character of a good leader allow one to take from the downtrodden and those who follow? Again, the buck stops with you.

But there is a catch. The buck stops with us as well. Your friends, neighbors and coworkers, past and present.

So when it comes time to measure your character and integrity as leaders? The buck stops with us. When we see you at the grocery store whispering while looking away in disgust, the buck stops with us. When we throw out our copy of Shoe Dog while mumbling “dou--e bag” under our breathes? The buck stops with us. When you experience imposter syndrome while pandering the same rhetoric off a teleprompter to the employees that make a fraction of what you do but actually do all of the work? Yes, you guessed it, the buck stops with us.

You can keep the company and the jobs but your legacies are no longer yours: they belong to those of us you continue to employ and abuse and the nearly 5000 lost over the last 3 years. We see you and always will, that’s your new legacy.

HR next department to leave?

I was discussing with a few colleagues the potential impact of moving to 100% offshore HR support, similar to the model offered by a Capstone-type company.

This would mean completely eliminating the in-house HR department, with every employee instead getting a mobile app on their phone to connect directly with dedicated HR support agents

Drahi /Altice sell their 65% stake in Intelcia Call Center Outsourcing

Drahi getting desperate and selling more assets. As we all know as part of his procurement scam, money laundering scheme we are forced to do business at inflated rates with businesses he owns to bring in more money for him beyond what he can make from Altice and Altice USA. One of those companies is Intelcia. He purposely laid off thousands of call center employees, ruining lives, just so he could outsource the jobs to a company he owns to make more money. Pays less for customer service and personally makes more money. Well to keep the mothership alive, Altice just sold their 65% stake in Intelcia to gain funds to pay some of their debt pressure. What else to be sold?

Layoffs to impact all leaders. Priority being management in call centers.

AI and shifting supervisory roles to lower cost regions like India can significantly reduce operating expenses in call centers. AI tools handle routine inquiries, automate quality monitoring, and assist agents in real time, which cuts down on staffing needs and boosts efficiency. At the same time, outsourcing supervisor roles to India lowers salary and overhead costs while still maintaining 24/7 coverage and scalability. Together, this combination allows companies to streamline operations, improve response times, and maintain service quality at a fraction of the traditional cost.

Many of tried to tell you…

We tried to warn you early on a couple years ago that both outsourcing and AI was coming for al of our jobs. But you simply did not want to listen.

Well, now it is coming for your jobs as well. You should have listened and joined your voices with ours, when there may have been a chance if enough people would have early on voiced their concerns and complaints as to what we were all seeing.

Perhaps, leadership would have expressed upstream their employees frustration. And maybe senior leadership would have given in and taken a different course.

Why should we outsource everything to Carelon offshore?

We have enough intelligent people inside the organization. Cost saving? I don't think so. It usually takes much longer to get low quality work based on my experience with Indian.
Now we oursource our manufacturing jobs to China and white collar jobs to India. What has been left for our younger generation? Must be some dark powers that work behind this, let alone of the greedness of capitalist.

UnityPoint Health announced job cuts due to outsourcing its IT and revenue cycle functions. The health system will eliminate 207 information technology positions. Further job reductions are planned for the revenue cycle department. Accenture will handle IT services, and Omega Healthcare will manage revenue cycle operations.
