When will LC be fired? He's non existent and IT is a complete disaster after the re-org. Morale in the toilet and there was no plan at all for what happened after the cut 50% or more of US staff. I've heard Engine is a disaster as well. Also wonder if MW will ever show his face again to employees. Only way to hear from him is to see him talk to Wall Street Sc-m on TV.

News on more layoffs?
Has there been anything new?
It makes no sense
The latest round of layoffs has taken some of the most skilled and experienced people off the team. Losing that knowledge and expertise is a huge hit, and I can't see how this benefits the company at all. Why are the people who built real value the ones being let go?
Job security is a joke
If you believe your role is untouchable, think again. There is always someone ready to take a position for less and the company will not hesitate. It is better to accept that nothing is guaranteed and plan accordingly instead of assuming you are safe. Disney is not the same company it once was.
I don't mind the wait
I understand why people are stressing, so am I. But if I had to choose between getting into work and learning I was laid off and having at least some warning to be able to prepare myself both mentally and in other ways, I'd chose the second option. Neither is good, but being blindsided with layoffs still seems worse to me.
Raise during Layoofs
Has anyone received a raise or RSU during layoffs?
WF Toxicity and Dysfunction
WF culture summed up by Deep Research analysis of thelayoff.com
Summary
Based on a qualitative analysis of employee discussions on a public forum, the internal health of Wells Fargo appears to be in a state of significant distress. The corporate environment is marked by pervasive anxiety, a deep erosion of psychological safety, and a cultural disconnect. The key drivers of this sentiment are recurrent and often uncommunicated layoffs, a return-to-office (RTO) mandate, and a perceived culture that prioritizes corporate allegiance over individual performance. For a prospective employee, the landscape is one of extreme caution, where job insecurity and arbitrary change are constant threats.
Section 1: The Context of Corporate Transition
Employee discussions reveal that corporate directives, such as layoffs and RTO policies, are major sources of discontent and uncertainty.
1.1 The Layoff as a Continuous Process
Layoffs at Wells Fargo are not viewed as isolated events but as a recurring, systemic process. The forum frequently references "Termination Tuesday" , a term that has become part of the professional lexicon for some employees. This suggests a predictable schedule for job cuts, creating a state of perpetual anxiety and anticipation. The discussions also mention rumors of "another large round of layoffs in mid-September, especially in Tech". The routinization of layoffs signals that job security is not part of the social contract, creating a "waiting for the other shoe to drop" mentality that hinders productivity and innovation.
1.2 The Return-to-Office Mandate
The Return-to-Office (RTO) mandate, which requires employees to come in "3 days per week" , is a frequent and contentious topic. It is widely perceived as an arbitrary policy and a symbol of management's distrust. The passive resistance, such as questioning whether it is acceptable to "work only four hours in the office" , indicates that employees feel they are complying with the letter of the law but not the spirit. This dynamic erodes the trust between management and the workforce, shifting the relationship from a partnership to a command-and-control dynamic.
Section 2: The State of Employee Morale
The emotional landscape of the Wells Fargo workforce is one of stress, burnout, and profound disillusionment.
2.1 Disillusionment and the Sense of Liberation
The most powerful indicator of low morale is the surprising sense of liberation expressed by employees who have been laid off. Comments that being laid off was the "best week in the last decade" and the expression of being "free" are a profound indictment of the company's work culture. This suggests that the work environment has become a source of immense psychological burden and professional suffering, where job loss is seen as a release from stress and a form of mental and emotional imprisonment.
2.2 Burnout and Compensation Resentment
Discussions on the "infinite workday" and widespread burnout point to a culture of overwork where employees feel compelled to be constantly available to prove their value in a climate of job insecurity. At the same time, discussions about "salary compression" where "lower roles are reclassified to higher roles without a pay increase" are a source of significant resentment. Employees see this as a sign of disrespect, a clear message that the company is willing to extract more value without offering a commensurate reward.
Section 3: The Erosion of Psychological Safety
Psychological safety, the belief that one will not be punished for speaking up, has been critically compromised.
The constant discussion of layoffs and the ominous presence of "Termination Tuesday" create a climate where employees cannot feel secure. The anecdote of an individual being "laid off after 14 years" shows that even long-term loyalty offers no protection. This lack of security forces employees into a defensive, self-protective posture that hinders collaboration and productive risk-taking.
A particularly damning piece of evidence is the anecdote that a laid-off employee's "exact job was being offered to temps at a lower wage". This demonstrates that the company views its human capital as a fungible commodity. The cynical rejection of corporate justifications, such as the belief that "AI is (still) mostly a scapegoat" for layoffs , further reveals a deep distrust of management's motives.
Section 4: The Cultural Disconnect
The discussions reveal a profound cultural critique of the organization. The description of Wells Fargo as a "cult" where "performance is less valued than being a 'True Believer'" is a critical insight. This suggests a culture where success is based on ideological loyalty and conformity rather than objective performance or competence. This system stifles critical thinking and innovation, as political savvy is rewarded over genuine results.
The use of "buzzwords" and the perception of managers "doing NOTHING" indicate a lack of authentic leadership and a significant disconnect between corporate communication and the reality of day-to-day work.
Section 5: Insights for a New Employee
For a prospective employee, the report provides a candid assessment. The official corporate narrative is likely at odds with the lived reality of the workforce. A new employee will be entering a culture defined by anxiety and mistrust, where job insecurity is a constant threat and loyalty is not rewarded.
The advice is to be pragmatic and self-reliant. A new employee should not rely on the company for job security or psychological safety. The evidence suggests that job tenure offers no protection and that management is viewed as indifferent to the personal toll of its policies. It is recommended that a new employee approach the role with the understanding that the company's primary focus is on cost-cutting and control, and that their well-being is a secondary concern.
Bham
Does anyone know when the Birmingham, AL layoffs will be?
Is Marketing safe from layoffs ?
I notice all groups get laid off except marketing . I am in the wrong group
Laid off last Tuesday …and
And it’s been the best week in last decade Thanks WF for nothing but torment.
I suspect that ISG Field Service will be all but eliminated by Mar 2026, in America.
Have seen a rapid increase of Unisys dispatches in all field areas, US. Looks as if the plan going forward will be to outsource all field service work to partners. Anyone have confirmation on the ongoing progress and planning for this? Is March 2026 realistic?
Interim CEO gets 25k more each pay period
Keep an eye on the 8-K filings OpenText must file with the security exchange as a publicly traded company. Any changes which can impact investors have to be publicly available. The various 8-Ks will start pointing out changes around selling off products as well.
Last week or so 8-K are around comp changes for the interim CEO. In addition to his existing salary, he gets another 50K+ in cash every month and he is eligible for up to 100% of his salary in variable comp for FY26 and he now has an added target equity of $281k in shares.
Meanwhile, our customers are asking who the heck is steering the ship and WFRs are being aligned as part of slimming business units for sale.
Fall cuts just around the corner
No one cares if you're star performer, a contractor with more exceeded expectations than any entitled individuals.
Everyone knows who's going to be impacted, if you hear your manager asking "summarize pending work for end of the year", you know you're one of the individuals going to be impacted.
4 people in our own squad were told their contracts won't be renewed, worst of all the individuals who's contracts aren't renewed are asked to give KT to new entitled snowflakes who can't even understand a basic forloop or join two tables.
What a sad way to burn the legacy down of a great product area.
KTD Layoffs
I recently found out they'll be doing more layoffs at KTD and probably GO soon. I know for sure CIS and Product will get hit hard. I hope you get your severance!
Podcast Hans vs. Verizon Hans
Hans went on Lewis Howes’ podcast to talk about how he leads Verizon. He mentioned writing “boss contracts,” holding 256 listening meetings, logging every hour into six buckets, and keeping a list of 39 names he checks in with.
It sounds organized, but the scoreboard tells a different story. Verizon trades like a utility, buried in debt from the $52.9B C-band buy. Growth is flat, T-Mobile is winning subs, and inside the company people are worn down by endless “transformations” and layoffs.
The podcast Hans sells habits. The Verizon Hans runs a company that’s been 3–5 years behind. That’s the disconnect.
Any Lower-Mid Manager Affected?
There was a lot of hype here about how the entire mid-management layers would be obliterated in this recent LR. Some of us expressed disbelief . Like clockwork, I don’t see any evidence of that at least in tech presales. Our total waste-of-space managers in the U.K. market are swaggering around with big smiles on their faces. So much for the rumour mongering.
August layoff
One of the posts here said the August cuts were the 2 Tuesday of the month. Did I miss it or was there really even one? The firm really doesn’t believe in getting rid of people, in my personal experience.
That could lead to bad press. According to my manager, the firm only cares about what people could think might happen.
Thanks Giving Layoffs
Get Ready, no bonus for you this year, then expect a call from you smart career counsellor around november 1st week and you will have a great thanksgiving because you will be thrown out of the window of ACN
Remote workers let go
Sounds like last layoff hit any fully remote worker? Did anyone survive or did they wipe that slate clean in the impacted departments? Were those affected given a relocation offer or just let go? Worried about my future with the company.
Should of seen this coming
So are there going to be more layoffs for the w2 agents coming early September25? Got a few calls about “rumors” regarding this does anyone have any insight?
Layoffs in Q4
Any rumors on up
coming round of layoffs?
Possibly In Sept?
Q3 earnings call was not too promising
Can’t wait to see how they’ll botch these layoffs too
The adjustment’s going to be a nightmare. I’d bet anything we’ll lose the people who are the true backbones of the teams.
I’d have only one real regret if I’m laid off
My team. When I joined four years ago, I landed in the best team I’ve ever worked with in my entire career. Not only was there zero toxicity, which is rare enough, but people genuinely had each other’s backs. We weathered countless crises and pressures simply because we stuck together. It’s been a truly unique experience, and I wish we could stay intact as a team, though I know that’s unlikely now. Whatever happens, I wish us all luck. And I hope we can keep it together mentally before this whole thing is behind us.

Just sayin is all…
Bay Area Layoff
https://www.crn.com/news/networking/2025/cisco-layoffs-total-more-than-200-in-bay-area-cut
On the heels of the news that the company is refreshing its channel leadership, Cisco is cutting 221 workers in the San Francisco Bay Area by mid-October.
“I don’t want to get rid of a bunch of people right now. I don’t want to get rid of engineers,” Robbins said. “I just want our engineers we have today to innovate faster and be more productive, and that gives us a competitive advantage.”
From google ai on Elliott Investment Management historical results:
As an activist hedge fund, Elliott Investment Management pushes for changes that often result in significant layoffs at the companies it invests in. While Elliott does not directly manage the day-to-day operations, its influence on corporate boards and demands for cost-cutting and restructuring have been closely linked to job cuts.
Examples of layoffs connected to Elliott Management
Southwest Airlines (2025): After Elliott acquired a major stake and secured board seats, the airline announced its first-ever company-wide layoffs. Critics believe this action was influenced by Elliott's push for profitability.
Salesforce (2023): Following Elliott's investment, Salesforce cut 10% of its workforce. Employees reportedly feared further layoffs due to Elliott's pressure for cost reductions and improved profitability.
AT&T (2019): After Elliott took a stake and demanded a strategic overhaul, AT&T cut tens of thousands of jobs and accelerated mass firings. This is viewed by critics as an example of Elliott's strategy prioritizing shareholder returns over employees.
Athenahealth (2018): After an Elliott subsidiary led a buyout, the company laid off employees, sold assets, and went private.
Juniper Networks (2015): Elliott's push for cost reductions at Juniper Networks reportedly led to job cuts at the tech company.
Why Elliott Management is linked to layoffs
Activist investor strategy: Elliott is known for "activist investing," where it buys a large stake in a company and then pushes for major changes to increase its stock value.
Focus on cost-cutting: Their playbook often involves demanding aggressive cost reductions, including slashing perceived "non-essential" departments to boost profits.
Control through board seats: The hedge fund often seeks control by gaining seats on a company's board, giving it direct influence over restructuring and personnel decisions.
Pressure for asset sales: Elliott sometimes advocates for selling off company assets to create cash for investors, which can destabilize operations and result in layoffs.
Can we talk about H1B
so, why is there so much H1B at Dell, or even in other countries, when there are a ton of US based workers that have been laid off. I thought the purpose of H1B is to use folks from other countries when there aren't enough qualified US people to do the same job. I think in this current economy, we have moved beyond that. We have plenty of qualified US workers to do the jobs being done by H1B workers here in the US. I feel H1B is being abused and not used for its intended purpose. Companies are using it for cheap labor. I'm willing to be that there are plenty of laid off US workers that would be do the same job for the price they're paying the H1B people. Seems like we need to make a shift in this now changing landscape.

The Great Intel Fire Sale, Brought to You by Trump
Trump "America First" doctrine will mean the forced sale of Intel fabs outside of US. The fabs in Ireland and Israel are first on the chopping block, followed by the design centers in IDC Haifa and Bangalore. its over. Panther Lake will be the last product of Intel before selling this group to another fabless company.
Congratz LBT, you ki-led Intel. Good luck everyone.
Remember when layoffs weren’t just considered normal?
I miss those days.
I hate having to wait
Knowing layoffs are coming is destroying me mentally. It’s Saturday and I can’t relax. My mind keeps spinning about what’s next. I just wish they would get it over with so we could either focus on work or start looking for something new if we are laid off. Anything is better than being stuck in this limbo.
Kaiser Permanente nurses in the Bay Area protesting layoffs
Kaiser Permanente nurses in the Bay Area are rallying against impending layoffs, saying the job cuts to an already stretched-thin workforce could leave patients vulnerable.

Survivor guilt
Anybody else feeling this way knowing that people with more experience (who helped me when I needed it the most) have been laid off? I'm grateful I still have a job, don't get me wrong, but I still feel incredibly guilty, even though I know none of this had anything to do with me.
Happy to be laid off if i get 5 month severance
This place is a disaster and is not going anywhere but straight down to the bottom of the ocean. Just a bunch of incompetent bench warmers just pretending to work for an underpaid salary. Would rather use that time for something productive instead of pretending to work and dealing with the BS at this company
US GC Holders giving way to H1-Visa Cr-p
Yet again - US Citizens laid off and H1 Visa holders getting hired!
Calm Before The Storm
This Board has gone de-ad quick. Is it vacations or are u afraid to discuss layoffs all of a sudden ? Jerome Powell spooked us all at Jackson Hole today with Fedspeake and Cap Management made some darn good cashola today with those coinbase and Intel positions...back in black sooner than you'll ever know...
Shutting down India
All, we have heard we are shutting down India within the next year or two. CVX is taking the the top performers and we will need to look elsewhere.
WARN notice
The email states termination date is “potentially” October 23. Does that include the redeployment period meaning if you choose not to participate your termination date could be September 23?
Week of August 25th will be the beginning of the end for many employees.
Pretty much all reviews completed this week. Lots of meetings this week. Lots of Not Met scores on Reviews that usually would be Met. I have almost 30 years and can tell I am on the List. But, I have a feeling if I do get terminated it will be a Blessing in disguise. I will be rid of this Wretched Place.
IBM doing what GE Did
Alvind reminds me of Jack Welch. Acquire companies and pay way too much , then reduce headcount due to overpaying .
GE Went from making appliances to becoming a bloated financial services company then becoming a shell of its former self
Alvind is doing these acquisitions and the balance sheet is artificially pumped up
Investors don’t care about acquisitions, they want reduced headcount due count and they have their puppet Krabanaugh to do that so that S0B can get a bloated 100 million perk package
