Formal Warning

Coworker was upset that her boss was escalating an informal warning she received last month to a formal warning. I asked her if that’s a PIP and she said she was told that there are no PIP’s. Is this true? Is she sc--wed? She said her manager told her to meet with her more frequently to discuss anything. She said manager seems to be supportive of legitimately helping and actually wanted her to take over some work from another coworker.

Seems to me that this may be their due diligence to letting her go, but why have her take over more work if they want to let her go?

Compliance Terminations

Anybody notice an increase in compliance related terminations. I have seen both announcements on bulletin boards about disciplinary action. The company is taken against people for various things recently as well as hearing about individuals who have been terminated. Do we think this is an increase?

Call to action' Human Resources

For at least a decade now US Bank has been in need of actual pro-disciplinary policies. Current HR policies are enabling their retention of bad employees. Evidence and documentation no longer hold any value when attempting to discipline and or terminate bad employees. If the managing committee or higher-ups in human resources are reading this, people leaders in this corporation need better support from human resources when it comes to dealing with employees who are clearly taken advantage of company and federal policies. I understand this company wants to be lean. Let us use the tools that we have get rid of the dead weight.

Corp badge in/out

At the end of February, each department at corporate will have detailed Attendance data for their staff. Every employee will fall into one of many buckets;

In office but less than 4x week
low time, meets 4x week but less than six hours in the office on multiple days
No time- Which is never in the office. This is to verify the “exceptions”

Get your resumes ready because there will be a wave of disciplinary cuts as a result of this.

Ouch

Rockstar Games adopted strict internal measures by firing dozens of employees involved in sharing information about Grand Theft Auto VI. Essas actions occurred after discussions on external channels considered insecure, which included unauthorized people.

Do managers decide anything in conduct cases?

For those with knowledge or experience:

If an investigation finds that an employee violated a rule, even without intent or malice etc. — is it up to the LOB management whether to keep them or not?

I understand an outcome “recommendation” is given by HR, but how much discretion is given to the LOB/team? Can they choose to ignore that recommendation?

Big Brother

We're getting cameras in our trucks so they can watch our every move. I wonder how many will get disciplinary actions or lose their jobs over this. As if they don't have us stressed out enough, which is a safety issue itself decreasing focus on tasks and productivity. Techs worried to death that if something happens, even if they do the right thing, they're almost 100% getting disciplined. Accountability they say? Yeah, for everyone except management. This company is terrible.
