Home and community care delivery reorg
Hi. Does anyone have insights on yesterday’s business reorganization? Will this lead to layoffs in sept and Oct?
November layoffs
Great. https://nypost.com/2025/08/22/media/paramount-eyes-massive-round-of-job-cuts-in-early-november/
Has word leaked out?
I know who is impacted by ISP is supposed to be a top secret. But I wonder if some leaders and associates have already received a hint or heads up that they are safe.
The reason I say that is some folks seem so calm and upbeat, while the rest of us are freaking out.
Where were cuts deepest?
Curious where folks are seeing cuts. HSE here, and honestly I can’t tell how deep this is. I am seeing a lot of down grading of roles tho…
Massive layoff in California upcoming soon?
When a company states that it will expand its footprint in an area with a new facility and consolidate 2 sites (Emeryville and San Diego) into one single research site, then something has to give. It won't be the leadership, but everybody else will be on the chopping block in 18-24 months. It is going to be painful for Novartis folks in California!
X Corp to resolve lawsuit over Twitter layoffs

Acquisition
I am really worried about what joining Cenovus means for our jobs. Will there be layoffs or restructuring? The uncertainty is stressful.
More layoffs at Saks
The job cuts included the elimination of the merchandising coordinator position, as Saks Global continues to blend the merchandising systems of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus into an integrated system, WWD reports.

My productivity is zero
You can’t drop a layoff announcement and then expect everyone to act like nothing happened.
IRS is canceling its layoff plans
After pushing 26,000 employees out, the tax agency is scrambling to find enough personnel to carry out its duties.

This can only hurt EJ
Letting people go to improve results is short-sighted and self-defeating. It doesn’t solve anything and just shifts the pressure onto those who remain, making everyone miserable and less productive.
Next RIF announcements
Is this confirmed?
the next RIF announcements are 9/3 this is the company wide big one at mid and upper management levels

Should we be worried?
The vehicle manufacturing sector is under a lot of pressure. I’m afraid there will be more cuts.
Layoffs and plant closures at International Paper

This could mean more layoffs
John Deere is facing a crossroads as the company continues to see weaker demand in the agricultural sector even while it has committed to investing millions in U.S. manufacturing and promised a brighter road ahead.

EM = mass layoffs
How do people not realize this?
Layoffs at Lifetime
Lifetime is cutting back its unscripted programming division, a decision that resulted in layoffs on Wednesday.

Biased hiring/layoff practices
The company should take action against managers who engage in fraudulent or biased hiring practices. Such practices can bring in employees who may not be qualified, which negatively affects the workplace environment.
The Corporate Pink Slip Game: Where You’re the Prize
In the old days, companies used to call layoffs “downsizing” or “right-sizing,” like it was some kind of corporate yoga pose. Now it’s just “restructuring” “ Early Retirement Program “—a polite way of saying we spun the wheel and your name came up.
Make no mistake: layoffs in corporate America aren’t always about performance. They’re about PowerPoint presentations, stock price sugar highs, and executives proving to shareholders that they’re “decisive” by cutting the very people who actually do the work.
You can almost picture the C-suite playing a board game:
• Roll the dice — Land on “Cut 500 jobs” and collect a bonus.
• Draw a card — “Move production offshore, skip ahead to your stock grant vesting date.”
• Spin the wheel — “Congratulations! You’ve eliminated your entire customer support team. Hope the chatbot works!”
Meanwhile, employees are left watching their email like contestants on a reality TV show, waiting to see if they’re voted off the island or if they get to keep their seat in the open office zoo.
And the best part? The company will send you a warm, heartfelt email thanking you for your “dedicated service,” signed by an executive who couldn’t pick you out of a lineup. But don’t worry—your sacrifice will be remembered… until the next quarterly earnings call.
The pink slip game isn’t about survival of the fittest. It’s survival of whoever’s on the “critical projects” spreadsheet that quarter. And even that’s temporary. Because sooner or later, they spin the wheel again.
This post needed its own thread. The OP is @a9+1k36wh77z, all credit goes to them.
N&S Locating Services layoffs - 126 jobs eliminated
N&S Locating Services LLC says it will lay off most of the employees who report to its Franklin County office after its biggest customer in the state, internet service provider Brightspeed, pulled all of its work from N&S.

I'm freaking out
It’s wild how quickly someone’s career can be flattened. I know people with decades of experience and leadership history who are suddenly starting over at entry level. Seeing it happen makes you realize no resume or past success guarantees anything. And I'm nowhere near their level, so if I'm laid off, I'm truly sc--wed.
Impossible is the motto, or so it seems
Everything at this place feels impossible: producing executives who don’t resemble a circus act, making a profit without layoffs, holding on to good employees, fostering a healthy culture, or recovering from years of negligence. And then some.
Arena BioWorks layoffs
Arena BioWorks has laid off 30% of its workers 19 months after launching with $500 million and visions of bringing the Bell Labs model to biotech.
Changes at Arena BioWorks follow events that have shaken confidence in gene therapies.

Bad Q1 results
Every time quarterly results disappoint in any way, I start worrying about cuts. It doesn’t take much for leadership to decide and pull the trigger if it helps them get out of the hot seat faster. I might be paranoid, but something tells me I’m not far from the truth.
GPS Townhall
There’s a town hall scheduled in less than two weeks. Is it related to any news about potential layoffs?
Mental torture
That is exactly what this feels like. They are letting us wait this long, making us stress, worry, and think about our livelihoods potentially disappearing next week every hour of every day. Why would they prolong it like this? Can anyone give me a real reason besides simply wanting to torture us?
MEG = more layoffs
Get ready to unlock more “‘synergies” when this deal closes. I’ll take a severance
Willis CRB
New top heavy Martian C-suite means they’ll have to clear out mid-level Directors with long complicated titles to justify new inflated salaries. WTW typically lays folks off before the third quarter or right before the holidays. AI, innovation and offshoring are increasingly popular and very un-American. They have started for 2025.
State Department layoffs could hurt US companies’ ability to compete globally

Why even ask if more layoffs are coming?
That’s just how it is - layoffs, all the time. We probably won’t even have to wait until next Friday, or Sept 2, or whatever date is floating around, to find out.
No word yet on how many in the US will end up affected?
And what’s with all the rumors about 30k being the overall target?
Job cuts ahead at Bridgestone tire plant in Normal
There will be a significant workforce reduction at the Bridgestone Off-the-Road Tire Plant in Normal. Neither the company nor the United Steelworkers union representing workers could provide a precise number of jobs targeted.

We still don’t know who’s likely to be hit?
Any rumors at all? I seriously doubt they’ll limit it to just redundancies. I expect they’ll go after experienced, skilled veterans too, because that’s what everyone does. Knowing your job often comes at a cost. I’ve yet to see layoffs, here or anywhere else, done strategically. It’s always crude, led by numbers, never real planning.
Layoffs are hitting one department at a time, rolling through regions?
So that means we’re still a long way from being done? Mid-September is the earliest we can hope for this to finally be over?
