Move to HUB or leave with no severance?

I heard a rumor that sometime next year USB will begin telling remote employees to move to a hub or they will be considered voluntarily quitting - so no severance. Don’t think this could realisticall happen all at once so I imagine it would be phased. Anyone know if this is true? I’m in a weird situation where my entire family works remotely for USB. They closed our hub so this would be devastating.

My heart goes out to everyone affected

Especially those already going through tough stretches in life. This happened at the worst possible time of year, and now people are heading into a brutal job market. Judging by the rumors, many of us may still end up joining our departing colleagues in the coming months. I wish all of us the best, and hope we all come out of this truly bad period healthy and happy on the other side.

Jan 22 - Next Round

There will be a huge round of layoffs happening in Optum with notification date of Jan 22. Every business is at risk, as Corporate handed down mandates of between 10%-30% reductions depending on the business. More happening in Feb & Mar as well. Oh and RRP Funding STILL hasn’t been approved.

T-Mobile Headquarters Move

I am not a T-Mobile employee!

You heard it here first. This time next year there will be news of T-Mobile headquarters being moved from Bellevue WA to Overland Park KS. Final move will be 2030, following expiration of contract with Bellevue. T-Mobile has been in talks with KS reps and are close to a deal surrounding lower taxes. T-Mobile execs already working to move jobs.

Prepare!

Unknown sources leaked that 2025 will be last year to give severance based on number of work years

"Laid off employees will receive the severance package as in the last cycle in calendar year 2025. Legally within the same calendar year terms of severance cannot be changed.

I also heard that after 5 December 2025, every employee who is laid off notices are given will receive a fixed 12 week severance regardless of seniority (meaning those notices going into effect in 2026). "

Has anyone else has insider information to verify or contradict this?
