Dan should get a write up from ADs / Directors and Sr. Directors about what’s their roles and responsibilities.
What’s their output other than creating sheets and presentations?
Before bringing AI, get rid of redundant managers who are not doing anything .. it’s laughable to have AD with 1 and 2 people reporting to them..

Changes to CXM and MBA roles?
Has anyone been told or heard anything about changes to CXM or MBA roles? Hearing something about a possible “change in responsibilities” coming?
Negotiate CL Promotion
Is it possible to successfully negotiate a CL promotion when considering to accept an assignment with more responsibility?
Question
Has anyone else been asked by their manager to write up everything they do, plus what each person on their team is responsible for?
quit last hear
here is a quick rant and i hope it helps someone…
i was sitting in a meeting at work when i made the decision that changed everything.
my boss was talking. i don’t even remember what about — something minor, some non-issue being stretched into a conversation because that’s what meetings are. and i was sitting there half-listening, the way you do after enough years, and i just looked at him and thought it so clearly. i cannot do this anymore. not another ten years. not five. not one.
which sounds dramatic maybe. but i’d done everything right. two degrees, years of showing up, taking on responsibility, being the person who got things done. i did what you’re supposed to do. and there i was in my 50s, still just making it month to month. still waiting for something to shift.
i walked out of that meeting — not stormed out, just quietly left — got a coffee, sat down with a notebook, and wrote one sentence.
i am never, ever working for anybody else as long as i live.
i had no idea how i was going to make that true. none (it turned out well) but that almost didn’t matter, not right then. what mattered was i meant it. fully, no asterisk. and i knew i wasn’t going to talk myself back out of it the next morning like i probably had before.
i wasn’t going to sleepwalk through my own life again. that part i was sure of.
What Pearson Could Learn from BLOCK layoffs
BLOCK announced layoffs this week due to the impact of AI, but with that, Jack announced the following severance plan for affected people: 20 weeks of full pay PLUS one week for every year of tenure, six months of full healthcare benefits, all corporate devices can be kept, and $5000 of transition assistance dollars. If you’re gonna conduct layoffs, this is one way to do it responsibly. PEARSON would never……..
Unexpected layoff notification?
This writing has been on the wall for longer than a minute. Relocate if required and RTO or risk losing your employment if you choose to gamble. It is a personal choice. It isn't as if you first heard about it only yesterday. You will find no sympathy from AT&T if you are unhappy about the position you find yourself in today and continue to refuse to accept responsibility for yourself and your family. Coasting along when you should have been adapting and planning.
“Chief Administrative Officer” role at the bank
What does a CAO do? What does your BL’s CAO do? What are their responsibilities and are they really needed at the bank? I feel like it’s another inflated title for someone without a real role. What am I missing?
Why are people of late throwing others under the bus, not taking responsibility and acting immorally?
Are they scared of losing their job? It is just horrific these days. Grow a spine and tell the truth and take ownership instead of blaming others.
For those of us who are lucky to stick around after layoffs…
of course, my heart goes out to those who lost their jobs and will lose their jobs, and heck I may also lose my job next week, but i have feeling based on what I do and our tiny team, I’ll probably stick around and get more responsibility or rather, more sh-t thrown on my plate and i’m sure many others will be in the same boat. So surely, we don’t have to worry as much about how we’ll put food on the table or pay the rent but our lives will be he-l and we’ll be gaslit by leadership when we complain about the increased workload and lack of resources to be “thankful” that we didn’t lose our jobs and to kiss the ring
Workforce Decisions: Layoffs of U.S. Employees Followed by H-1B Hiring
Among the layoffs in early or late 2025 were many U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Soon after, companies hired H-1B workers for nearly identical roles.
In many cases, the difference between positions — such as Business Analyst, Product Owner, and Scrum Master — is minimal. A one-week to one month transition training could have allowed the laid-off employees to continue contributing instead of being replaced.
This raises a serious ethical concern:
Why are U.S. citizens and permanent residents being let go first, while similar roles are refilled immediately mostly with H1Bs? This is for both FT and Contractors.
This is not just restructuring — it is a question of fairness, responsibility, and ethics.
shell leaders have fake jobs
when gretchen, US chair left, her “responsibilities” went to the head of deepwater colette
now that Mike Curtin of AI group DTO is leaving, his “responsibilities” will go to SVP Kate Platanova. all this guy cancelled his retirement, took over Dan Jeavons job ousting him from the company in the process, then retired anyway less than a year later. what a weaselly tu-d, good riddance.
allen cockriel CISO leaves. his “responsibilities” go to owen o’,connel SVP and CIO IDT services and operations
these people’s jobs are fake as he-l if they can be picked up with no sweat by the other so called executives. this company is so full of fake jobs and it starts right at the top. but they are never the ones who get cut, they leave for an even better job or retire and we pay their way then simply don’t back backfill their fake roles
if i was a shareholder at a board meeting i would ask wael to fire more executives to fund his buybacks. its much cheaper and better optics than the workers layoffs of little people
Zero Growth, Riskier, Less Salary
Oracle was focusing on being a stable firm. But most of responsibilities where around Oracle concepts like basic Java, Java EE and some opensource areas without much depth in technology or anything.
It doesn't shape the employees with challenges. It doesn't offer you a career trajectory. Doesn't makes you un-fireable (always keep you in fear). Your market value stagnates over years with 2% to 0% hikes.
It has made employees obsolete as the company is pivoting to different area.
Bad management is the root of it all
Instead of developing people or rewarding effort, they just keep piling on more responsibility and calling it “growth.” No new title, no raise, no acknowledgment. You end up doing the work of two jobs while being treated like you should be grateful for the opportunity.
401k changes shouldn’t be buried among generic communications
Why can’t leadership, for once, stand behind their decisions? Anything that negatively impacts our well-being, prospects, compensation, or benefits is always delivered in a stealthy, cowardly fashion, preferably with multiple layers of separation between leadership and employees. How can anyone expect a bunch like that to responsibly and successfully lead a massive business, let alone one dealing with something as critical as healthcare? That requires courage, accountability, and real skill in dealing with both employees and clients. No wonder we are miserable and the entire enterprise is a sad affair.
KB Meeting
Is the main responsibility of KB hosting those town halls? It feels like she does them every two weeks. Do they have nothing better to do with the state of the company now?
Running on fumes every single day
Most teams here feel stretched thin, and it shows in how tired everyone looks. Changes keep rolling out without enough people to support them, so the workload lands on whoever is closest. No one wants to take responsibility, so talks drag on forever while we wait for someone higher up to decide. It leaves the rest of us struggling to keep things moving.
UK North Sea E&P facing tipping point. APA options
What is the predicted outcome for Apache in the North Sea? They are looking at a 4 billion dollar Abandonment responsibility. How will JC handle this unprecedented challenge? Production declining like he-l and maintenance on basic life support. Who or How is this paid?
Globally society needs to start unaccepting layoffs.
Society needs to start unaccepting what we roll over and just take.
Companies with record profits should be shamed for layoffs.
There is plenty of cash for a responsible return to shareholders, company reinvestment, and job retention and retraining.
Society needs to start rewarding companies that reinvest in all 3 pillars.
Who here hasn’t had their mid year check in?
I haven’t had my mid year check in, though I just noticed in my Managers diary his other direct report has his booked in. I‘m guessing this isn’t a good sign for me and I‘m going to be affected by the layoffs.
Fiber tech 2
Could someone tell me the job responsibilities of a fiber tech 2 position. Thanks
Additional Responsibility
Is it normal behavior to have a new task forced on you without compensation?
Post-retirement question
I left ATT in 2020 after 28 years. It wasn't my first choice at that time, but I had an existing side gig that quickly became a full-time job. I sold that business and officially retired from the workforce in June 2025. This led to several necessary interactions with ATT. Those interactions went fairly well. I have been out of pocket for 5 years, and there is a burning question, WHEN did ATT hire all of these whiners? Maybe the better questions are HOW and WHY? Are they unable to recognize obvious character flaws during their hiring and vetting? A common takeaway from the posts on this forum is a complete lack of personal responsibility for the position in which you find yourselves, and that you want someone else to fix it for you. I have a tip for you that you should have learned when you were 12 years old. The position in which you find yourself today is but a stepping stone to the position you could be in tomorrow. Prepare yourselves. Mama and daddy aren't going to make things all better.
Ford should just give their vehicles away for free and mark up repair parts by 900%
With Ford giving away their vehicles for free, this would eliminate Ford having to deal with Recalls which is like flushing good money down the old toilet. With no more responsibility for recalls, this would turn into an instant cash cow for Ford.
Who needs Dave Calhoun to come up with brilliant ideas like this!
Work Leads - benefits?
Do the new Work Leads get any benefits for their new role? I’ve heard they do more than before (we all do) but they supposedly have additions responsibilities. Do they get raises or something else? Seeing the pressure they have I wouldn’t want that job but wonder if Dell makes it worth it. They need to do much more because the managers all have 20++ people and no way can they be on top of all activities. NO WAY.
In times of a crissis people show their real face. adidas is clothing company where making money is everything! While they talk propaganda about #teamplay #responsibility.
I say the real buzzwords are:
#ZEROteamplay
#NOresponsibilityATALL
#Moneymatter
#Shareholdervaluematters
#SuppenKaspar
