Plano Office: Where 'Work' Means Coffee-Badging

Come on guys, what a joke.
Plano office is basically a ghost town of productivity. Hardly anyone actually working.

My entire team? Mostly H4EAD housewives from Telangana who’ve been here 10+ years and still have zero clue how the software actually works. Their real expertise? flawless coffee badging 3 days a week. Ethics? Work ethic? Initiative? Bro, those words left the building decades ago.
Everyone’s just coasting, collecting paychecks, and pretending this circus is sustainable. In the AI era… how long is this absolute clown show supposed to keep running? Seriously, someone tell me. I’m dying to know.

Classic corporate cuts strategy

Whenever there are talks about cuts, it's always the exceptional performer, the ones who delivered at critical times are on the chopping block instead of the ones coasting breezily.

The reason???
Majority of slackers (you know who you are) won't be affected by the change, but there could be a few who will think this as a wake up call and step up.

And being a top performer, the corporate would think you'll land on your feet somewhere else even after being cut off.

That's a classic tale tell strategy, after 16 years at fidelity and close to retiring, that's one hard but honest truth

Unexpected layoff notification?

This writing has been on the wall for longer than a minute. Relocate if required and RTO or risk losing your employment if you choose to gamble. It is a personal choice. It isn't as if you first heard about it only yesterday. You will find no sympathy from AT&T if you are unhappy about the position you find yourself in today and continue to refuse to accept responsibility for yourself and your family. Coasting along when you should have been adapting and planning.

Why the fu-k bother working hard anymore?

Used to grind: stay late, extra projects, crush it. Reward? Emoji thumbs-up, 2% raise (lol inflation), then piled with more work.
Meanwhile minimum-effort crew dips at 5 and skates by fine.
Loyalty’s a one-way scam; hard work = free labor.
Fu-k going above and beyond. Act your wage, do the bare minimum, guard your sanity.
Who else quit hustling and started coasting?

how long b4 i'm caught

ever since covid ive been doing the /r/overemployed thing but with target being j1 bc of health insurance since the layoffs in october my manager has been on my behind nonstop expecting more and more work to be done im slowly detaching from my role and pushing back sayin things like itll get done when it gets done i kinda want to get laid off on the next round and get severance but who knows when thatll be until then im gonna keep coasting and attend meetings i am required in and skip the ones im not and just have the mouse jiggler running do the IT computer ppl have anyway to tell that im not really doing anything for most of the day?

again just want to survive until next layoff with severance by doin bare minimum and cashin checs

Dear Verizon

Dear verizon,
I'm not taking my severance. I'm going to take a different job. I'm about to coast. I'm going to use you, I'm going to get my degree in engineering using your tuition assistance. I'm going to no longer be a top performer. I'm going to do just enough to keep using you. I don't trust you anymore. I'm going to tell people not to get verizon, I'm going to go out of my way to not have people switch. You sc--wed over so many people and you are taking advantage of people's emotions during the holidays. You're about to pay for me to leave and I'm no longer going to be your top performer. Fu-k you.
