Anyone post that is more than 12 sentences is an AI post

I don't care if the post is anti/pro vaccine, Trump/Biden, pro/anti America, RTO/WFT, pro/anti AI, racist/woke, right/wrong. If you are writing THAT MUCH F-ING TEXT you aren't a real person, shut up, stop wasting the time of people here to read actual commentary on how absolute abysmal this company has gotten.

Why are you angry? Why are you talking about getting rid of your phone? Why don’t you like AI, it lets us make all of this easier?

Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? This is progress. You’ll be left behind.

How I think we can win now

First, STOP WITH THE CONSULTANTS FOR OUR STRATEGY 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
They don’t know the business like we do. They don’t understand what has made Nike Nike.

Second, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SACRED STOP CLOUT CHASING.
It’s honestly an embarrassment at this point. We bring people and companies on that have NOTHING to do with athletics or sport. Perfect example is the skims collab. The announcement of how Nike was partnering with skims because they had knowledge and understanding of the feminine form read (to me and many others I know who think the skims brand is mediocre at best) we don’t care about investing in ourselves and innovation for female athletes - we’d rather contract that out. Next this last drop literally looked like things I could buy at a dance studio. Nothing innovative. And the Travis collabs… cmon. He’s problematic and has nothing to do with sport. Who remembers his tantrum playing kickball during JDI day? I get that we are in the streetwear arena now but our athletic styles made it into streetwear without trying and without non-athlete celebrity collabs. One offs are great or if it’s someone who isn’t problematic a regular collection is cool. But let’s be smart.

Third, LISTEN TO THE EMPLOYEES and stop protecting leadership (and yes people).
Tech was screaming at the top of their lungs how bad RL was.. we’ve heard the allegations. Then comes MD, again, SCREAMING she didn’t know what she was doing. Lower level employees see a lot more of what’s working and not than leadership; or that’s what it feels like since they do nothing to improve anything.
Fourth, OMG LISTEN TO CONSUMERS (thought this would be obvious)
Everyone complains about how narrow our shoes are. I’ve heard some explanations about this saying elite athletes have narrow feet. My solution? Standard sizing that the average person can wear and elite sizing (our current fit). Imagine the marketing antics we could pull with that. Nike wasn’t built by everyone agreeing and falling in line. To expect us to thrive with a majority yes people is absurd, but we also need more focused on collaboration. One team, best team, team Nike.

Five, MARKETING WTF ARE YOU DOING. Our brand should be in alignment.
How tf did “Runners welcome. Walkers tolerated” pass through approvals?!?!!! Especially when one of core mottos/statements is “if you have a body, you’re an athlete.” Like are we inclusive and want everyone to make sport a daily habit, or shame people who are trying to be active? Alignment is key my guys and we can’t seem to pick a lane.

Six, WE NEED A BETTER FTE/ETW RATIO, not offshore all of tech and holy cow stop with the layoffs
We are literally always under investigation by the state for not having enough FTEs. Some ETW roles need to be converted, period. It’s not staff aug/special projects/SOWs/MSAs. It’s regular day in day out work that we are contracting out. Not just that the onboarding and offboarding costs (and the pain that that is).
I worked in GT. I do see the value in having ITC. However, I see bigger issues when the tech teams are working off hours. Tickets being closed because you don’t see their response in time because of the time difference. Tickets moving slowly because you can only send/receive one response per day. And it seems like with this shift changes have come down like, when an ETW converts creating an entirely new account for them (literally seems like they weren’t trained correctly or held accountable for this issue when for YEARS converting accounts wasn’t an issue).
Layoffs are bad. We do it to please wall street then have to ramp hiring back up or have to contract more work out. Not to mention the onboarding and offboarding costs associated. Plus these decisions are usually not made at Nike based on performance and it’s pretty evident.

Anyways EH let me know if you want to talk strategy cause I think I’ve got some great suggestions on correcting the ship.

Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk

Lazy Employees Who Make No Effort

In the past few months, I’ve noticed a significant increase of emails being sent by employees to other departments for “assistance”.

They make no effort to elaborate on the issue or explain why they cannot handle the request themselves. It’s the classic dump & run, the “please read the full email chain and figure it out for me, thanks” variety. To make matters worse, they copy others to email to make it look like they are aggressively handling the issue, then I have them blowing up my email box for follow-ups.

I’m tired of the complete lack of respect for my time. Management couldn’t give a sh--e about it.

How wide spread of an issue is this?

I’ve decided to start ignoring these emails and hopefully send the silent message to stop the insanity.

I’m not your secretary, DO IT YOURSELF!

For those who stayed. What did you do different?

  • Were you the one writing AI first or AI driven in your linkedin profile?
  • Did you posted that “ I would like to share that I recently completed blah blah blah AI course” too often in linkedin?
  • Are you the one who bluffs in meetings and throw big words all day long but dont do sh-t?
  • Did you kissed the bottom really well all these years?

I am geniunely curious. What did you do right?

May Awareness

Everyone get prepared, the leaders we call id--ts are meeting, yet I want to gas you up to believe there’s a master plan some AVP and their directors have the power and competence to layoff their staff, self-defeating their own roles and stature. Surprisingly they have meetings all day. So with this information add more stress and chaos to your lives since you can certainly control and trust this information. I’ll post another nonsense and manic post in a few hours about something very specific with the most vague details.

Things I don't want to hear ever again

"Do more with less" and "we're all in this together." I don't want to hear any pep talk. None of us are here to clean up leadership's mess, only to be dismissed with a generic email. I'm staying until they show me the door. For now, it's about what I take from this job, not what they squeeze out of me.

The Color Purple

The most important thing is to collect and destroy all the green crayons, replace them with purple crayons, then sell the devalued purple crayons to a company who wants used crayons and doesn’t have better ones

What is the sense in celebrating 147 years of a defunct company’s “legacy” while replacing all your “legacy” offerings with purple lipstick and nothing new except worse problems?

5 words: Technical Vision, Get Some Fast.

EH the Fraud

He’s not equipped to lead.

Athletic trainer for Cowboys, interns at Nike, talks himself into sales role and we are where we deserve.

Crumbling company with investors and even employees running for the hills before this place collapses.

I’m tired of the BS sales pitches aka all hands.

Ai/ml engineer here.

I see a lot of worry about ai here.

ai actually can do all things promised.

Verizon doesn't have the infrastructure, management, talent to do any of it.

Most of the requests are rejected because they are rule based problems not ai problems.

There's a fundamental lack of knowledge of what ai even is at Verizon. Whatever knowledge that exists at Verizon is at the highschool level and limited to basic prompting.

Let that sink in. The top leadership at Verizon has a grade school equivalent level with ai.

I've let my feelings known many times so I hope i get riffed because I am not learning anything here.

Tldr; anybody at vz saying anything about ai has no business doing so.

Rant over

Human Resources

You’re either still here because you're new and have no idea you’re now on a 747 on its way into the ground, retiring soon-and praying you can last long enough to make it out, searching constantly for another employer, or just an id--t and think all the screaming, smoke, and flames around you is just special effects for the awesome music video starring you and all your greatness! In that case-thumbs up-you truly are the best of the best!

Market Cap 900 Million

This company is begging to be sold, but these Execs have ruined any and all value. The weird old CEO is way over his head. All he knows how to do is lay people off. Should go to Georgia State and take an Econ 101 class. Could only help. He couldn't get into tech.

AT&T radio commercial in Dallas

I just heard a commercial that made me want to puke. AT&T is promoting their 150 year anniversary. DJ said how proud he was of his father's 35 year career with AT&T and how he's been through massive technological adventures. What a joke! Stinky wants you out in less than five years; no such thing as long-term employees anymore. Zero loyalty. Fu-k AT&T!

See Yourself Bigger

If we’re talking honestly to our younger selves, the conversation might include warnings about corporate messaging that talks about empowerment while employees feel undervalued, overworked, and unheard. It might include advice about spotting organizations that talk about people-first values while quietly prioritizing executive egos.

Ba----g on about courage and “seeing yourself bigger,” but anyone who’s actually worked there knows the reality is burnout, bureaucracy, and Accenture-rejects that couldn’t manage their way out of a paper bag.

It’s the usual corporate fantasy written by out-of-touch suits who love the sound of their own inspirational waffle while the people doing the real work get ground down. There's not a single member of M&C SLT that wouldn't gladly stamp on their own mother if it made them look good on LinkedIn

Maybe instead of publishing this smug nonsense, the prickgoblins running the place should try fixing the toxic culture they’ve created. Until then, spare everyone the sanctimonious wa-k.

quit last hear

here is a quick rant and i hope it helps someone…

i was sitting in a meeting at work when i made the decision that changed everything.
my boss was talking. i don’t even remember what about — something minor, some non-issue being stretched into a conversation because that’s what meetings are. and i was sitting there half-listening, the way you do after enough years, and i just looked at him and thought it so clearly. i cannot do this anymore. not another ten years. not five. not one.
which sounds dramatic maybe. but i’d done everything right. two degrees, years of showing up, taking on responsibility, being the person who got things done. i did what you’re supposed to do. and there i was in my 50s, still just making it month to month. still waiting for something to shift.
i walked out of that meeting — not stormed out, just quietly left — got a coffee, sat down with a notebook, and wrote one sentence.

i am never, ever working for anybody else as long as i live.

i had no idea how i was going to make that true. none (it turned out well) but that almost didn’t matter, not right then. what mattered was i meant it. fully, no asterisk. and i knew i wasn’t going to talk myself back out of it the next morning like i probably had before.

i wasn’t going to sleepwalk through my own life again. that part i was sure of.

If you are let go, the worst thing you can do is to come to this board and live here.

I understand ‘getting it out of your system’ and informing the masses but beyond that, put this board aside forever and move on. The more you come here to rant, the more Citi is living inside your head rent free, still siphoning off your life, energy and time.
Rant and rant like a mo-o but once done, set this site aside and put Citi in the rear view mirror forever.

PNC is so stingy

Sorry, just needed to vent. This company is so stingy. I cannot believe they don’t reimburse lunch while traveling for business and have certain hours for dinner. I arrived at my hotel at 11:30 starving because I have been flying since 5 pm and I literally just a bunch of single serve creamers to try to deal with my hunger pangs.
Also, almost no one in my department seems to know what they are doing. They pay cr-p so all they can afford are inexperienced people. The poor analysts are bombarded with too many deals. Hire more people at entry level. Their salaries are the lowest.

Should have known how stingy this place based on their branches. Hated being a customer at a branch with no teller. The ATM and virtual teller constantly glitched out. Ugh!

Those/them posting satirical content

Under disguise and signalling they may very well be C-suite, pretending to be engineer, HR, product, sales or other BU. Stop now or risk your post tagged to teradata and real SM, RP, SA and like. Not that difficult to be anonymous in linkedin.

It still is a publicly traded company. Their investor relation will make sure any effort to manipulate sentiment, even in an anonymous forum like this, addressed quickly.

You may hold any opinion about current C-suite and the company. As in, I do not believe there is any credible person still employed at this, once great but definitely not relevant today, of a company - but that is just my humble opinion. I do not post the same matter every other day with some ridiculous back story. Having a meal with someone at AWS or being in san diego or ohio.

Bridget Engle is Despicable

Bridget Engle, whose 2024 compensation was $22.11 million, admitted on a town hall call today that employees were being forced to sit on the floor due to lack of space. This is reminiscent of textile mill workers who were forced to wear diapers because they were not allowed sufficient bathroom breaks. Ms. Engle should be ashamed and embarrassed at this inhumane treatment. The fact that she can casually admit this shows her complete lack of empathy and awareness. Her NUMBER ONE priority should be immediately resolving this issue, publicly apologizing to all employees, and personally apologizing to the affected employees.
