Tenure Patterns?

Hi - someone earlier in the week posted a thread asking for ages, and wonder if we can do the same for tenure. Trying to gauge if they’re laying off people who have been with the company a minimum of say, 3 years, or if it’s random and even people who have been around 1 year or less are being let go too…

Java UI guy, I need answers.

What are the alternatives to using a java ui?

I don't care about layoffs, stock, "no it's not!", 200 applications and I've finally got an interview, Bandy the clown, any of that.

I just need to know what else would be superior to Xerox using a java ui?

Why go above and beyond, or even work hard at this point?

Promotions seem to be archaic at Dell - unless you live in India... - Raises are mostly comical and add maybe $100 to your check lol. Travel is for some weird reason STILL restricted - aka conferences, etc... - the literal constant fear of layoffs 12 months out of the year, then the added stress of RTO micro-management of badge swipes.

I mean, I personally do like my job but at the same time I'm failing to see the point in doing anything more than what is required of me. I could be a hard worker and go "above and beyond" but why? My promotion will never happen, my raise will be a sad 3.7%, which I suppose would cover the tolls and gas I now have to spend to even GO to work...

2023 foreshadowing?

I read (can’t confirm) in looking at some Sept. 2023 threads, that Day 1 was some Dirs/mgrs, Day 2 was ICs, and Day 3 was a mix of those in different orgs (namely MIX) so wondering if Thursday, MIX will have impacts…

Who's Next?

Bandy (BTC) has $cr€w€d everyone, everyone. Employees, customers, shareholders, and now shareholders again with watering down near worthless stock with an offering of more stock. Seriously, when is anyone who has a milliliter of business sense and decency going to publicly ask him to get out of Xerox? There's no next person who will magically turn this around but BTC has failed miserably for three years and counting. Remove the entire top structure of this loser assembly already.

Anyone else get placed on an internal team after November layoffs?

I was laid off back in November but recently got placed onto an internal team. I’ve also been hearing that a lot of people ended up getting internal placements instead of fully exiting.

Just curious - did many of you get internal offers as well? And for those who did, do you feel like this actually gives us some stability, or are we still at risk if there’s another wave of layoffs?

IS THIS TRUE!?

For ones that actually had a customer service WFH job with cvs , is it true that they fire for little reasons? Do managers write you up for acw alot?

Is it really 25%

I’ve been reading the last few posts, so I wanted to know. Is it really 25% of the entire company that’s getting axed this week? Is there more detail into how that’s being done, or is it completely random? What’s really going to happen?

Ya'll think remotes will be hit hard?

Personally, I do.

Dell has made it clear they want in office 5 days/week and has stated that all future roles are onsite ONLY - including internal movement. Remotes are not eligible for promotions, and I 100% guarentee it will cut into their bonus and merit raises, as well. Remotes will get a 50% max bonus, and a xyz max merit raise (1.5-2.5%) to force people to quit. That may not happen this year but I'm betting my bonus it will happen soon.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if that happens this year as like I said, Dell wants all employees to be local to an office and remote employment is no longer offered. What a great and sh---y way to force people to quit...

Essentially, they want everybody to be local to an office. Which is d-mb and pointless IMPO but, that's what they've made clear and in order to do that, they HAVE to begin cutting the remotes at some point.

My guess is unless you are below a sr. director, dell will help relocate you... otherwise it;'s on your own dime. aka 99% of the remotes are FUQD for relocating.

Well, unfortunately the only way to do this is by cutting the remotes. Exceptions will be made for a very small group of people but I doubt that even, as my director drives 90 minutes to the office daily, one way. overall, remotes IMPO are on the block going forward. Unless they relocate, which many won't.

When did the scrum master layoff talk start?

Got laid off as a software engineer in 2024. Found a good life after fidelity.

Just wondering where all the talk about scrum masters getting laid off came from. I heard the Spotify agile model is getting done away with (not just because of the last post).

But how much of that talk is actual truth? If true, then what’s the percentage of scrum masters at fidelity that we are expecting to get laid off?
