I wouldnt mind that as a retirement job. No metrics, no customers. No weekends no mandatory ot. Just go out and work then go home in time to enjoy the evening.
@y9
Yea, those contractors they hired lashed over everything. Curious who owns that strand and the poles now. I mean if lumen wants to wreck out their strand and copper and avoid any pole attachment fees/violations on power poles can they? If they still own the telco poles can they then charge att for attachments or lease the old strand the fibers hanging on? Strange times
@y2 not removing aerial in my area. Quantum Fiber/forge fiber/att is lashed to our copper everywhere. Brilliant 😂
There's a future to remove the copper from poles and underground in the future.
@kh
I hear that. Hopefully you can squeeze out a few more years or even have the area sold off to someone who wants the copper like a bright speed deal. If I don’t get accepted I’ll just ride it out. Even if they do take me I’ll still have to work another 4-5 years but there’s a couple contract companies around town hiring to do nesc and line work for the cable companies and hanging fiber for independents. Best of luck that it works out down the road
I hope they take you but us old copper jockeys that don't have the time, we just have to hang in there, especially is 🚫 j fiber areas .
Six in my crew including me. Will see if they take us all and leave zero old copperheads left in town. I’m low man with 29 years so fingers crossed.
If you can retire, you'd be out of your mind not to take it.
You can't take it until they make me the offer.
