GT all hands corporate BS

What a joke. Suddenly GT leadership figures out GT operates in a fragmented way... Worse, They think moving pieces on a chess board will fix anything.
Hey JH of Corp functions and RA broadly, I still can't get anyone to help me with failing SAP system to system transfers. I've been aka raising visibility aka begging for support... Oh for 6 months now at least. As a downstream system we even have a solution. But no one from your team shows up or takes ownership. Because they don't care. Cross org cooperation is MIA at Nike.

  • So leaders, fix the culture first! *
Else you're just playing musical chairs and another layoff is imminent few months down the line because we will not deliver value with the status quo.

2010: ~200K fulltime employees ... 2025: ~90K fulltime employees (firings are not new)

... and the number of cell sites probably tripled. In most cases, VZ will fire you quickly if you are not cutting it (and replace you with a contractor, not backfill). So if you have lasted over 3 years or so, you have shown you are adaptable and are getting your work done (excluding outliers who may be competent, but hard to work with, so should maybe be cut). But, in the Nov 2025 firings (they are not layoffs), MANY people with 10, 20 and some with 30 years of experience were kicked out. This shows the utter incompetence of VZ leadership. They have no idea how to run a long term business (kicking out the most effective employees to make a budget look better). Leadership looked at the cost of those employees and MAYBE whether they took an AI class here or there (even though there were no AI applications available for that particular job and still aren't) and made uninformed decisions. Completely CLUELESS. If/When an AI tool became available for those employees' roles, those people would adapt, just like they have done for 10, 20 and 30 years.

And for those very few people who talk about a lot of dead weight being cut, you are showing your ignorance. Of course there were a few employees who "earned" being cut, but you are delusional if you think you are somehow more valuable because VZ chose to keep you over someone else. You are just a line item on a sheet that was overlooked by some BOZO higher up.

UHG requiring personal email

Sorry but to me it feels like this emergency test is also to make sure we have a personal email so when they lay us off they can just send the documents or communication there. I went in and there is no way to remove it. Maybe I’m extremely paranoid but hey that would be this organizations fault to begin with.

Tomorrow isn’t the end of the layoffs

I think most people know by now tomorrow is the day, with a few people in denial. This was a quota game, leaders were told to eliminate x number of people for many teams as the only consideration.

This isn’t the end either. There will be more rounds this year. If as a business, they decide we need to do cuts, fine. But they continue to cut talent and drag out morale instead of doing it all at once. We are all being told to take on more for no extra pay and use AI which constantly makes mistakes. The only reward is MAYBE keeping your job. Talk about transparency and doing the right thing… yet let’s keep making employees live in fear.

Company wide layoffs 10%

Is there an announcement date for this or is the news just slowly spreading quietly through each org? I haven’t seen anything in the news, but I guess that’s better for our sagging stock price. Or maybe not, you’d think cutting the fat around here would be good news to investors.

RV LinkedIn Financial Literacy Post - Green Socks, Red Flags, Zero Trust

BNY’s green‑sock LinkedIn stunt wasn’t tone‑deaf — it was a victory lap. A soft‑focus “look at my humanity” performance from our illustrious CEO while employees report stealth layoffs, collapsing teams, and RTO engineered as a slow‑motion purge. It’s financial‑literacy cosplay from executives whose biggest budgeting challenge is deciding which trust to park their bonus in.

And the benefits list? Employees on this forum have already torn it apart with receipts.

Matching newborn savings
A $1,000 match is meaningless when people are afraid to have children because reorgs hit harder than parental leave. Posters repeatedly note that job security is so fragile that planning a family feels reckless.

Down‑payment assistance
Employees point out that RTO forces them into higher‑cost commutes while raises trail inflation for the fifth straight year. Many can’t qualify for mortgages because BNY’s pay bands — widely discussed on the forum — are below market and frozen in amber.

$0 healthcare for those under $75K
This isn’t generosity; it’s a confession. Thousands of full‑time employees at a global bank earn under $75K. Forum posts consistently highlight that this tier is where burnout is highest, turnover is intentional, and workloads balloon after “efficiency” cuts.

401(k) student loan match
A rounding error. Employees repeatedly describe doing the work of two or three people after headcount reductions. A token match doesn’t compensate for systemic understaffing.

So yes — associates are right to question the CEO’s sock‑based empathy tour. When leadership posts costume‑level symbolism while employees describe exhaustion, fear, and constant headcount erosion, the message is clear and unmistakable:

The socks are green.
The spin is polished.
The workforce is disposable.

It’s not fair I was laid off and others get to stay

I had 15 years with the company but my department decided to lay me off instead someone that’s been there 2 years. That’s not fair at all. I trained people, was always on time, worked weekends and overtime while being salaried, all that dedication and this is the thanks I get. I’m very hurt and disappointed in UHC. They have no loyalty at all! I will never work for them again good riddance!!

No Extras

Don’t give to UW through work (give on your own if you can still afford to do so). Billy can make up for the difference.

Don’t volunteer for Grow Up Great (go help your local school on your own). Billy can take his limo to the schools and make up for the loss in hours.

Don’t attend EBRGs until flexibility is restored. The firm uses EBRGs as evidence of engagement. Continue to support each other, but do it on your own.

Don’t let PNC (Pune - Chennai - New Delhi) take any credit for your community involvement. Let those new employees in our overseas hubs, who are quietly replacing us, step up and show their community support. I have no spite toward the individuals overseas, but since Billy has made the decision to layoff his U.S. based workforce and hire overseas, there is no way I am letting him take credit for my support of UW, Grow up Great, or involvement in EBRGs.
