Approximately 37 faculty members are retiring this spring through a voluntary exit program. These retirements will help avoid full-time layoffs this year. Follow the Work Letter Information

Please post any information you have on the Follow the Work letter such as what type of information is included and what it asks you to do.

What locations does it list as your new office address? How much times does it give you? Have your teammates received one?

Serious responses only please. This is to help others and myself understand what is going on at T.

This isn’t normal attrition

I’ve never seen this many people leaving at once. This isn’t normal turnover. This is a mass exodus, and everyone knows exactly why.

You forced a five-day RTO that nobody wanted, layered on tracking that feels like a maximum-security system, and created an environment built on fear instead of trust. People held out hope it would get rolled back to something reasonable. The notorious 8/1 email ki-led that overnight.

Since then, it’s been a steady stream of exits with a significant ramp in 2026. And it’s not random. The people leaving are the ones with options. The ones who actually drove results. The ones you can’t replace.

Who replaces them? Not “top talent.” It’s the bottom quartile of talent, whoever is willing to accept a five-day, heavily monitored, in-office model in 2026. That’s a much smaller and much weaker pool. That’s just reality. It’s the most desperate undesirable people with no other options. Nobody is choosing this model if they have a better option.

So what you’re left with is predictable. High performers check out or leave. Everyone else learns the game. Swipe in, sit down, do the minimum, go home. Because that’s what you’re measuring now. Presence, not performance.

This is a direct result of the decisions being made in the c suite. And it’s hollowing the place out in real time. Congratulations stink, you’re going to be the chairman of nothing. Your legacy is tarnished and getting worse by the day. Tick tock, time is running out.

RTO rumors were a distraction

A commenter alluded to it in a post: while we fussed over RTO rumors the bank is finalizing the details to hire 5000 FTEs in India. Remember this is a place that kept wages flat and laid off people ruthlessly for "operational efficiency" but has no problem committing to sending thousands of jobs out of the country.

Great Press Exposure

Lots more news articles and post views generated about this RIF than the total AI tour. Great marketeering.
Add 10k more evangelists to promote the company at their new employers and it’s a total success.
When do companies fail? Too much debt? Negative cash flow? Or when the customers don’t believe they will be here next year?

Berkeley Heights Parking

It’s a valid point that when/if construction begins that we lose more spots.

It’s starting to feel like the garage is not happening. Like they’ll just keep the status quo. Dark thought, but if enough people are let go, then it’ll just go back to 2023 where parking is tight but mostly manageable.

I don’t mean to be a Speculating Steve, but it’s now been almost a full year since the initial announcement. And with each passing date, it feels more and more like the garage is never actually happening.

Cuts, and job threats.

Every day we hear something about cuts and have are jobs threatened! Do it already! Tired of being under the damn microscope! I constantly see people sitting in the cafe as I go from assignment to assignment, and everytime, no matter what time, there is a old blond haired lady sitting in OC8. No wonder Intel is in trouble, paying people to sit around and do nothing!

Synopsys India (Bangalore office)

We are a team of 7 and 6 of us received an meeting invitation from HR individually for tomorrow morning. My manager is very confused about it too and colleagues at office strongly thinks it has to do with the lay offs. Its better to get severance and leave this place at this point. I'll update tomorrow about the outcome but it's 99% we are being eliminated.

Tone Deaf

One of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed in corporate America happened last week. Our tone deaf executives stood in front of a room and shared a half a**ed set of things we should care about. Then instead of making their “I will” statements back to the work force they had employees “commit” to their ignorance by reading statements.

News flash: Read the surveys. Less than 20 percent of the company supports the leadership team. Rumor has it we are going back to the office because the biggest proponent of going back to office has a spouse he can’t stand 😆😆😆

The company is going through turmoil and more and more people will continue to leave, can’t blame them at all. Thank goodness I’m in the final round of interviews. Instead of making things better they are getting more erratic.

30+ years, lost $380k in RSUs, not even a thank you

Oracle used to be a great company to work for. They really cared about making work GOOD for people, at least in dev teams. They wanted you to be able to work well, so they did everything they could to help - on site dry cleaning, food in the break rooms, ATMs, cafeterias with hot food, and any hardware you wanted that would help you get work done. Need a new big computer - no problem, for ex. Then that stuff started whittling down - no more dry cleaning, worse snacks to no snacks, ATMs removed, fight for new computers, etc. Not big things, but they added up. The message was clear. Then AWS ex-employees showed up and then took over, and now everything is a struggle, people are afraid to be laid off, and there is so much reporting on progress that there is no time to actually MAKE progress. The problem is upper management. Quality work and products are no longer the goal. Now it's work fast and deliver ...anything. Work late into the night, and on weekends, and then write up reports on it. No raises. No stability. Tons of backstabbing. No cooperative work. Just a horrible place to work now. Lots of covering up failures and blaming other people. So sad, because it really used to be great. Just MHO. 30+ years. Got the highest evaluations. Was told I was one of the top few employees in the entire org. Great RSU grants. Then laid off with zero warning by anonymous email in the middle of the night, locked out of the entire building, access to resources cut off immediately. And NOT ONE THANK YOU, for 30 years. I was completely loyal to this company. Now that's all gone.

I was going to resign by end of May

If I didn’t get laid off I was going to leave by end of the fiscal year. It was all I could do to stay as long as I did after the Sept layoffs. The work just piled up with hardly anyone left to do it, but if I stayed long enough to be let go, the $ reward would be pretty nice. I was ecstatic to finally get the nod. My severance is maxed so I’ll be using it as a paid 6 month sabbatical while I get ready to retire. Hasta la vista Oracle and Aloha Larry.

Board’s Fiduciary Duty to Shareholders

Nike’s entire board ought to be scrubbed at this point too. Zero accountability for failings of successive leadership teams. Waiting on evidence they take their fiduciary duties to shareholders seriously at this point. Activist and buyout the best outcome at this point to break cycle of layoffs and restructuring to hide lack of real strategy and leadership…
