Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Tone Deaf

One of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed in corporate America happened last week. Our tone deaf executives stood in front of a room and shared a half a**ed set of things we should care about. Then instead of making their “I will” statements back to the work force they had employees “commit” to their ignorance by reading statements.

News flash: Read the surveys. Less than 20 percent of the company supports the leadership team. Rumor has it we are going back to the office because the biggest proponent of going back to office has a spouse he can’t stand 😆😆😆

The company is going through turmoil and more and more people will continue to leave, can’t blame them at all. Thank goodness I’m in the final round of interviews. Instead of making things better they are getting more erratic.

@cf it’s your fault it’s been bad. Our plan was great it was everyone else who didn’t make it happen. We had to pivot now because of you worthless losers. Instead of spending recklessly with no strategy. You forced us to come to be best in to ensure you don’t mess it up again we will give you limited resources, more time in the office and keep constant threats of more layoffs and relocation alive. Don’t blow this great opportunity to work at a best in class dumpster fire.

It puts the purple on its skin or it gets the layoff again.

You want to improve faith in leadership? Start with a mea culpa, acknowledge things have not been ideal, and outline what will be done to improve employee relations in order to get a fresh start moving forward. Not "the beatings will continue until morale improves".

It was one of the worst town halls ever. The undertones were accusatory instead of forward looking. The broader telecom industry is in a slump. Crown Castle is in a death spiral. Get out now.

This is seriously some hypermasculine military bs right here.

“Integrity and honor?” For whom? From whom? We haven’t seen any integrity out of the c-suite since, um, well…

“Team sport?” Implies we actually are cared for like a team. We are merely pawns for the executives’ next move that benefit…them? They don’t give two 💩s about us.

“Tenaciously achieve results?” For their stock portfolios. They are lining up those stock units so they can sell off the company and walk away smelling like roses.

“Best in class?” I think we will just let Google interpret that one: “a trite, overused business cliché that often signals a lack of substance, making marketing copy or résumés sound arrogant and uncreative”

When was the last time we’ve seen an egomaniacal CEO and creepy henchman of an CHRO around here? Winter 2023/2024, when they were sent packing.

The real question is, can we outlast them or do we just get the he-l out as soon as we can in this horrible economy and job market.

Get out! Better yet leave telecom. It’s a declining dumpster fire.
