These will be the longest three days of my life
I think they're doing this on purpose, since I'm this close to just quitting to avoid having to go through this mental anguish even for a day longer. I wouldn't be surprised if some people already broke and quit. This is all a part of their plan, I have zero doubts about that.
Wealth Management Marketing
I am about to join wealth management marketing and would like to learn more about it. Can someone provide me insight into how is the work life balance and the bonus range? The HR mentioned that the bonus range is anywhere between 20-45% in marketing.
Growing frustrated
I’ve tried to stay on the positive side of this for a long time. It is quickly fading.
Too many initiatives, not enough people to drive them and not enough time to manage people effectively.
When you wake up and dread coming to work each morning, it’s time to do something different.
Viya Haters Club Meetups
in R this week. Tell mgmt how much you hate Viya. Meetup workshops for directors and VPs on how to write vague linkedin posts about wanting a new challenge. Everyone else can attend a session about applying for unemployment during the holidays.
My entire team has started job hunting
Or at least what's left of us. It's not a good job market, but something will click sooner or later. All of us just want to be done with this place.
Leave
I left SF about a month ago but stayed in the industry. I learned that SF was 10x more toxic than I thought… They underpay you, trap you in roles that make it harder to be competitive outside the company, and ruin your physical and mental health.
Senior leadership at SF has turned into a complete joke. I no longer feel embarrassed when asked where I work.
I hope you all actually take the leap and rebuild your lives by leaving that he-l hole.
I'm exhausted
Job hunting after work feels like having two full time jobs. I shut one laptop just to open another and hope the next application is the one that finally clicks. And none of them do. Are others having more luck than I?
I think I’d rather be laid off at this point
I can barely drag myself out of bed on workdays, and I dread coming in. Burnt out doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’ve worked at several companies before, and this has been the most toxic, exhausting, and unrewarding experience of them all. At this point, I’m willing to face a brutal job market and even a long stretch of unemployment if it means protecting my mental and physical health.
Saturday and Sunday are not enough
We need at least four days each week to recover from this place and what it puts us through on a daily basis.
WFM Thursday
If you were told you “can” WFM…. Is that a good or bad thing??!!
25 years just like that
Yeah 25 years:
Have been a top performer consistently.
…and just like that.
Is it true that only heavily impacted teams will be asked to WFH next week?
My direct manager mentioned to me on Thursday that we would most likely be asked to work from home on the 20th and that we would get official confirmation on Friday (yesterday) or possibly Monday. No official confirmation came as of yesterday. Is it true that only teams that are heavily impacted will be asked to work from home? I am trying not to panic, but i have a very bad feeling about all of this.
Stuck here
Anybody else feels completely suffocated knowing you're basically trapped here for who knows how long because the job market is a wasteland right now? I keep searching and pushing and checking every lead, and it still feels like there’s nothing worth grabbing onto, so barring a layoff, which would be its own disaster, it really feels like there's no escape from this stressful place anytime soon. And that thought makes me hyperventilate.
There will be 2 Rounds of Layoffs
Believe it or not. But the upcoming layoffs on november 20th is just the first round. The company is still planning to finish q4 sales strong, so they aren’t intending to hit front line workers hard at first. Expect the second round around late Q1 2026 5k-10k layoffs. These numbers will be determined by how the business has performed post the Nov cuts.
Dont get too complacent, this is just the way of life now in corporate america. With the age of AI & the current economy, cutting cost is the first prio to companies. Stay strong & work hard, everyone is replaceable & no one is entitled to having a job if you’re not contributing enough value.
Has your leaders SM or above talked about career progression?
Do leaders in certain parts of the business talk to you about resume building, career progression and stuff if there is a chance that there is a RIF pending?
The department I am in had one with SM a few days ago. It's odd that they are talking about it after the announcement and the time is getting closer to the 20th.
She was going around to each team under her and talking the same talk.
Anyone else getting the Office Space attitude?
Lack of motivation: Peter states that there is no motivation to work harder because he "don't see another dime" if the company produces more units.
Meaningless work: The film criticizes a workplace where employees are unfulfilled and their work seems meaningless.
Corporate frustration: Peter's frustration is a direct result of a top-down structure with incompetent bosses and a system that punishes mistakes without offering rewards for success.
"I just don't care": This famous line is the core of his argument, explaining that his inaction isn't due to laziness but a complete disconnect from his job's purpose and his company's goals.

Housekeeping reminder - Save EOY reviews, save personal files
Send mid year and end of year pdfs to your personal email. It’ll come in handy to update resume
If you have any personal stuff on work laptop, remember to send it to your personal emails/laptops.
Better to be safe Incase access gets restricted or completely removed.
Seems like a no brainer but I remember one of my X-co workers
In a different company had terrible experience. He was with the same company for so long that he didn’t realize how much personal stuff he had forgotten to transfer to personal computer. Then one day laptop access was all one & it got very chaotic.
Weekly Presence report slightly wrong . . .
I know I have been away for a couple weeks due to vacation, CGDO, and illness so I did not attempt to make sense of those weeks. Most recent report is pretty accurate, but still wrong and understating my hours in the office, as always.
Care360???
Anyone know any details on the Care360 team position wise? Is it a good team to work on?
Being asked to work in day off but store manager is still off
If you are a sales team / MTM/manager and the store manager is asking you to work on your day off but THEY STILL get two days off and are leaving by 4 or 5, file an internal grievance with corporate HR and document everything in detail and in writing with dates. this type of conduct has to stop, belk needs to be aware of these good for nothing store managers.
Let’s be real
1 out of 5 employees aren’t pulling their weight. Everyone just thought of that person, did you… it’s okay… I did too. Now picture work without them..
If this doesn’t resonate with you, maybe you’re that person….
Wellsfargo Technology is garbage
Don’t work here!
Overemployed at Allstate
I had enough of the mo--ns and the low pay. Right after COVID I got a second job and never looked back. Now i make more than a director and do half as much. I recommend it for everyone. I don't worry about a lousy increase because I still make more than my manager. LOL
4 am meeting…really?
Just a quick reminder that while we’re all committed to collaboration, scheduling meetings at 4 a.m. feels less like ‘flexibility’ and more like a hostage situation. Work–life balance shouldn’t require night vision goggles. Unless the building is on fire or we’re launching a rocket, no one should be required to function professionally at that hour.
In office requirement
If you’re out on vacation for 1 or 2 days out of the week, what happens with the 3 days in office requirement?
Same question again but on weeks with holidays, what happens with the 3 days in office requirement.
Another Big Bank falls
Just saw Truist is calling back all employees to 5 days a week. It’s getting harder and harder to find flexible work options https://www.bankingdive.com/news/truist-rto-employees-in-office-5-days-banking/805291/
CSO
When is CSO going to 5 days a week? CSO is Atl still on 3 days a week.

M.A. is ki-ling all of us
I truly enjoy being part of this organization and want to continue contributing meaningfully. However, the current schedule has been very demanding. I completely understand that global collaboration requires flexibility, but calls that take place in the middle of the night have become difficult to maintain long-term. It’s starting to impact my balance and energy levels, and I’m concerned about sustainability. I’d appreciate the opportunity to discuss whether there’s a way to balance time zones while still supporting our objectives. If that is unreasonable, sign me up to be laid off.
I'm 53, spent 23 years in the TV business the last 17 working for Nielsen as a sales rep
. I was grossly underpaid but being single w/no kids and having that leven of comfort knowing your job inside out, I decided to stay and never seek opportunites elsewhere. Sadly my mother got sick w/dementia around 2019 and I was forced to step away from the my career (did get 1 yr od severance) to take care of her along with my father who is also up there in age. She eventually passed from covid, so it was just me left with my father (who was early 80s at the time).
I decided to give up my apt and move back to the family home (wasn't far anyway...long island, ny) to watch over my dad. I also decided that I wasn't going to stress about working again as a hack for some thankless corporation and decided to just drive Uber. I'll tell ya what, the last 5 years have been the most stress free and happiest of my adult working life! I'm eventually going to inherit the family home (valued at 1.2M), and along with making about $1200 a week (while only paying about 5% on taxes since we're considered "gig" workers...I've realized that happiness isn't about banking big check every week...it's about using what time you have left on this planet to enjoy yourself and do the things in life you love. I can easily cover my monthly nut, which isn't much.
Sure, I live frugaly and I'm able to pull this off because I don't have kids but nevertheless I don't think I'll ever work for a major corp. again stressing everyday and hating life. Doing uber allows me to go hang out on a whim with my 7yr old nephew, take him to soccer practice or maybe an afternoon movie on the weekends, etc, etc, etc.
I was a former D1 college soccer player and I even took up coaching my old high school team. Life is great. Most of us ki-l ourselves working to our early 60s only to then have maybe 5 good healthy years left.
Fk that.
I’m running on fumes
I’ve got too many bills, too many people counting on me, and zero energy left to care about work. Some days I’m scared I’ll snap at the wrong person and regret it. I used to like what I did, now I’m just trying not to lose it.
I think it's time to move on
I like my coworkers and my work, but I live in constant suspense. Every quarter I’m wondering if I’ll be next. The job market isn’t helping, so I feel like I should start looking now before this company pulls the rug out from under me. It’s stressful living like this.
RTO is total BS
I've been mandated to return 4 days a week. During the last month of this, I've talked to 3 people (total) in the office and taken meetings from conference rooms where hardly anyone in the office showed up--instead taking the calls from their cube or a focus room or remote. The people I work with are not in the office or even my location. But my life has been disrupted completely to meet some ridiculous ego-driven mandate. I'm using more water, gas and energy--not good for the environment. My stress level has risen--not good for my mental state. And add to this the other things I had to buy to accommodate going into the office (lunch stuff, clothing, shoes, backpack that holds a laptop, etc.) that makes RTO costly to the employee. This is after 5 years of little no pay increase and minimal if any bonus and 5+ years without a promotion. Feeling trapped because the job market is so horrible. But yeah, at least I have a job and didn't get riffed. Looking forward to the tide changing back to favor employees however long that takes.
An on point post from @cf+1k9p3cq31.
