What to expect? Comp?

Citi is my first job at a large bank post-grad, so looking for some perspective.

When I joined in August, I didn’t get a sign-on bonus but was offered a “target award” to be paid in February as long as I’m still employed through the end of this month. Two weeks ago, Workday showed an amount under “Target Award”, but I checked today and it’s now blank. Merit Plan= 0.00% , DIRA left blank

My manager also said we’ll be talking about comp today or tomorrow.

Should I be worried about not getting the target award or about job security? Is there a normal reason the DIRA amount would disappear? Also, is this the right time to ask about a salary increase, or does that usually happen after a full year?

Any insight would be appreciated.

A friend's brother...

A friend of mine's brother coaches college sports. The nature of that job means getting 'let go' every 3-5 years, always around the holidays. It's a brutal job. My friend lost their job a few years back and called her brother for advice. She told me this...

Routine is key. You're going to want to spend every moment of every day looking for your next job, fight that urge. Your new job is finding your best job. To be your best, you need rest, you need down time, you need exercise. Take 3-4 days to lounge and de-stress. Then make a list of small house projects. Then put your schedule together. Your day should include no more than 4 hours looking for your next job. It needs to include a workout and something for your family. When those things are done each day, don't feel guilty for watching TV or enjoying your free time. Stay positive, we all get the silent treatment from potential employers along the way.

Hope it helps.

Benefit Changes to PTO

If anyone hasn’t noticed yet, leave allotments in workday now have a “approved bank” amount where it looks like it’s being propped for an accrued PTO type of situation. Rumor is that other benefit changes, such as our unlimited PTO and overall flexibility is going to change for the worse.

are they still "monitoring" badge swipes?

this whole bs thing started in what, early March or so? I went in MAYBE 3 days/week but averaged out more like 1-2/week lol. I was told by my manager that I should probably start going in more to stay off a "list," so i did. I'd go swipe my badge and drive the hour commute back home.

Then the whole manager reorg happened and my new "manager" is pi---d about the RTO as well. He basically told me - without saying it - that if i want to just badge in and go straight back home, then i can.

I live an hour from the office and got tired of the drive. I put in for a medical exception for something and was granted 6 months. So, I haven't been to the office since I think early April now?

Are they still monitoring this cr-p? Because in my last 1x1 he didn't say a thing about it.
