Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell lowered my salary with no context

I received a Workday notification stating my total compensation is reduced by x amount.

Is this really happening

@OP you were on 70/30 split. They want to move you to 60/40 split. You can decline it.

Too vague - did nothing else change? Salary and variable rate changes? Going from a manager to a non-manager role? IWhile Dell certainly can reduce salary in the US for whatever reason, salary reductions almost always come with something else to explain it

@OP there is a rumor going around that they are going to reduce some of the individuals who are at the absolute top of their role’s salary band and increase salary of those who are too far below the salary band. I would be shocked that they would do this without giving a heads up or some sort of communication.

The only other assumption is if you are sales, and this was some adjustment to base and variable.

lol no they didn't. Unless you are in sales and they altered your base/comission numbers... they can't just decrease your salary wi--y nilly.

Are you sales? Did you get moved from 60/40 to 50/50 or similar?

It absolutely can happen, but I have never heard of it being done. Dell prefers to cut pay by not increasing pay at a rate that matches inflation.

That doesn't and can't happen. Stop trolling
