Called AAR today about how NS is forcing crafts to do billing and fix minor stuff that does not need fixing just to hit their billing goals, they said I should call FRA also and file a report, they also said they have been notified by multiple employees and the multiply freight car owners of being charge multiply times for the SAME repairs done to same car over and over again everytime it enter a NS yard. AAR said them and FRA are looking into it. I was told if you know anyone the agrees they are trying to force you to do illegal repairs or have proof they are threaten you to do repairs or else you will be written up, to contact AAR and FRA and make a report. And to stop any non necessary repairs immediately because your name is on bill and you will be accountable for that repair if it was not a necessary repair or if it was a same repair that was done multiply times by you on different days to same car. They said fines and discipline can and will be handled out to carrier and individuals involved in any fraud or wrong doing is found. And it it up to the carriers to decided how to handle their employees for it.

MONEY !!!!!
The worst thing to happen to Bnsf railway was , " Berkshit Hathaway". Trading peoples livelihoods for profits. No different than when they were burning people out of their homes back in the day to lay tracks !!!
Something big!
Mass furloughs are going to happen in Houston! Talk to your managers, train runner managers! The writing is on the walls. It’s going to be before the new machinist apprentices start. They’re hiring them as we speak! Both managers and tradesmen will be furloughed!
A Pile UP a day on the UP won't keep FRA away.

Locomotive engineer certification
Does UP have a similar process for certifying locomotive engineers or will us NS guys be able to run with our NS license.
On NS they send you to McDonough and let you tear open a Cr--ker Jack box. Inside is your certificate. Is UP the same?

Signal department jobs cut
Through out the system BNSF cut signal maintainers, inspectors and ET’s.
January 13 rumors
Repost: read this earlier
Word is January 13, at 11:00 am for conductors, when the system re-bid occurs, BNSF is going to take an ax to TY&E, system wide, they’ve cut significantly already all new hires that were not in closed seniority districts hired in 2024 and 2025, and the word is in corporate that they are going to slash those areas next, north town, Cicero, Chicago, Havre, Mandan, Vancouver, and Seattle, Interbay, and phase out or recall all loan outs back to original terminals. California is being spared along with parts of the South Trans Con for for vehicle shipments and for what the carrier deems as high priority Z trains, and vehicle trains to redistribute gas powered vehicles as the electric market has gone belly up and to salvage relationships BNSF is hauling more vehicle freight to areas where the ev market is going to take the biggest hits, but for how long is anyone’s guess, as immediate quarterly profit bumps are slowly taking precedence over moving freight so Belen, Needles, Winslow, and Barstow, Utah are going to eventually take a hit based on what crews are costing BNSF in Winslow alone. The Red River division is being gutted internally, and BNSF is simply reaping tax benefits of having a corporate office in Fort Worth, while moving all other business out, and leasing out terminals 1 by 1.
Georgia firms announce over 70 job cuts
Two Georgia companies recently issued WARN notices. A total of 74 employees will be laid off. Railcrew Xpress will cut 55 positions due to a contract cancellation. These Railcrew Xpress layoffs affect multiple cities including Augusta and Savannah. Gainesville Jaycees Vocational Rehabilitation Center will lay off 19 employees.

Waiver approved by FRA for less physical track inspections
It is with a heavy heart that I post the waiver approval pushed by the AAR....It is unfortunate that those who currently sit in charge of official agencies make it no less than a perfect storm for the railroads to get what they want. I do not yet know the current status for the waivers for signal inspections, but they are sure to get approved as well.
Geometry cars are already being set aside, and some track inspectors are to be impacted slowly until %'s are satisfied.
Looks like Vena has the AAR in his back pocket

Did anyone buy or lease the Orin?
Rumors from earlier this year… Is bnsf doing directional traffic on the coal loop? Did they run through Edgemont yet? Did they do anything with the Orin???
Every bit of industry has been changing this year. People are getting laid off or displaced to other locations. (Example… Union Pacific is wanting to make North Platte an away terminal).
Another union signed the “agreement”
Looks like the Fireman and Oilers union has agreed to the merger with a “Job for life” by Vena.

Car load peak was in 2006
MSU said rr carload peak was in 2006. Interesting read. https://www.trains.com/pro/freight/class-i/msu-professor-up-ns-merger-cant-turn-back-the-clock-on-carload-decline/
What happened to "Big Things Coming To Juniata"?
So I take it there's no chocolate milkshakes in my future?
CN Managers
How many of these CN deadbeats will Vena hire?
“JOBS FOR LIFE “
Jeremy “Jobs for Life” tells NS student conductors “ They have a “Career not a JOB “… I wonder if he told that to the current UP employees being furloughed ? How many folks with years of experience lost their jobs to PSR ? NS employees have no idea what Jimmy.V is capable of doing to a railroad !
Stored Locomotives
Any one have the scoop on why there are hundreds and hundreds of locomotives stored at Donkey Creek Wyoming and Guernsey Wyoming? Why don't they refurbish them, sell them off to another country's railroad, or scrap them out? Seems like the biggest waste i've ever seen!
15k to Conway
Hahhaahaha NO WAY!
PEAK
It’s been quiet. Probably another slow Peak? Then lay offs after the first of the year?
Listen closely
I've heard from a very reliable source that Van Guard and Black Hawk two of Norfolk Southern's largest hedge funds will cash out sometime in 2026
Scab outfit from Jacksonville, Florida.
Class 1 scab #1 out fit.
Terrible shortline company
Why would any union endorse the merger
The dum dums at SMART are telling their people this will be good for them. LOL!
I guess bringing PSR to Norfolk and scrapping switch yards and such will be great for everyone.
More Scab contractors coming to UPRR
Pacific Rail Service, is a intermodal contractor that's bringing their locomotives on the property to have their Scabby H6 employees switch the ramps and yard like East LA.
Let the Mexicans run across the border with trains at Eagle Pass, and they end up in East LA and California.
New CEO at CSX
Sudden change at CSX, the hedgefund guys pushed this move. Trouble ahead for CSX employees.
Just saying!
