Carman seniority is only good at the location you currently work at. If you transfer or get laid off, whatever location you end up moving to, if that's what you decided to do, you start at the bottom of the seniority roster.

Well if history has taught us anything, it would be that Vena has never made good decisions with any company that proved to beneficial to anyone except himself. My advice to anyone would be to sit tight. If he's on a furlough streak right now, just wait for service issues to start. It won't be long for that to start occurring. The power at the UP is garbage and we all know it. The rail cars are falling apart and the FRA definitely knows that. I don't think seniority works system wide, but I could be wrong and I'll gladly except it if I am. Vena is on a Hail Mary play right now to save his own a$$. The stock price is going to sh!t and now there's financial entities calling the UP a risky investment. The point is that Vena has been messing things up very badly at the UP, he needs to get the costs down, and stock price up quickly or he loses a large rumored bonus at the end of his tenure. If you can exercise your seniority, then I'd say do it. Just be careful where you bump. It might not be highly appreciated by the person you bump or the people that worked with the person you bumped.
