Equipment return

What does fidelity care about and not care about as far as giving back equipment? I’m hoping I can keep the monitors, docking station and webcam but obviously won’t steal them. According to the fid central site if equipment is older than they like we can keep it but it doesn’t specify. Anyone know?

What Happens If You Don’t Return Equipment?

My last day at BNY was a few weeks ago. What would happen if I don’t return a computer monitor that I’ve used for wfh?

For context- they reached out shortly before my last day requesting my address to send a box to return the monitor. I gave my address and had told them they’ll also need to send someone to pick it up. I never heard back and the box recently arrived. I have no intention of physically carrying the box to a local shipping location.

Forklift Sensors

So we have just added to our Crown lifts devices that will not allow you to exceed 6 mph and 4 going in reverse! When approaching something the forklift reduces to 1.5 mph... this is such a terrible idea. Its because people up top have no idea how things really work in a club!

You are all in denial if you don't think layoffs are going to happen at Oracle. With that being said your best option is to

resign from your boring Oracle jobs and pack it all up and move yourself to West Virginia and apply to Coal miners' jobs there. Every coal mine is West Virginia is hiring coal miners right now. These jobs pay high wages and offer excellent benefits, and you can work all the overtime you want to work. You get to work with some pretty cool equipment as a coal miner. The only problem is you have to pass a mandatory and random dr-g tests. Let's face the music about that because a lot of you at Oracle, especially Gen Z's aren't going to pass a dr-g test even if you are d-mb enough to try and fake it.

These folks have the ba--s...

These folks have the ba--s to send me an email telling me they were sending a box for IT equipment. I gave my stuff to a senior manager after my RIF meeting. I have been a model employee, a PEAK Achievement winner, and asked for this stuff a week later. These people are heartless.

waiting for the axe

soooo what is happening in other districts with DEG technicians and I and R techs!??? we have one job per day if we are lucky, DEG techs are same very slow just taking down old equipment!
Don't get me started on useless air pressure ho-s, all they do all day is sit around in different COs waiting for lunch to see where the specials are!
Lots of us waiting for payout but is anything happening in district 3,9,6?

The Wireline Museum

As a stranger things fan it’s awesome to work in the COs and see all the equipment from the EIGHTIES still in place and running. I can imagine how cool it must have been to be alive in that time and how shiny that SLC-96/DMS-100 was back then. As an employee, however, it’s completely embarrassing that these machines are still standing in a Fortune 100 multi billion dollar company. But hey, at least I get to work in a museum every day, pretty cool stuff.

Old Laptop

Hi! I found my old laptop from this company laying around in the basement. What should I do with it? I'm sure they've written it off as a loss at this point, but not sure what else I can do with it either. It's company locked but working just fine.

Disconnect from the immediately!!

Sorry I didn't post this before more layoffs. While your manager is giving you the news, disconnect immediately from the internet. They can't scramble your laptop if they can't get to it. I was laid off on September 3rd. I've had access to my files all this time. I just got my box, so I'll go on the internet now and let them scramble it.

Equipment return

Need some help. I was part of the RIF earlier this month. Given WARN, my last day is Nov 3. However, I got the equipment return box this week. Am I supposed to return the equipment now (within 5 days) or wait until Nov 3rd ? I have no use for the laptop but since I am still on the payroll (albeit garden leave) until Nov3 , I wasn’t sure if I should return things now.

Fake Equipment Leases? Kickbacks? Lions and tigers and bears?

Ruh-Roh! Who knew leasing could be so complicated?

https://www.law360.com/amp/articles/2392421

“The lessees signed on to the deals between August 2022 and December 2023 in exchange for cash rebates that Xerox characterized as kickbacks, the complaint said. Xerox said if it had known about the rebates, it would not have paid the invoices.“

Dell Pro Laptop is too CHUNKY

My “new” work issued dell laptop is quite the chunker and is as thick as two iPhones. At least I get a good workout carrying it to my ONSITE job daily! Plenty of blue screens too, wonder if it’s refurbished. Oh and it opens like a noodle too

Yesterday’s equipment for tomorrow

They are ending support for the current corp phones soon. So if you have an iPhone 10, it’s no longer supported. Apple is releasing the iPhone 16 in a few days. But what does EM offer? Yup, an iPhone 14. Why can’t IT or Corporate Procurement negotiate better deals to allow for better dates equipment? Over time, the Corp is both wasting money on upgraded phones and also wasting employees time with subpar equipment. Make it make sense!

New Laptop Re-fresh: Dell laptops

I am not sure how it is in your region, but we are disappointed that first time ever, we are receiving DELL laptops as a part of the refresh cycle instead of Lenovo.
Maybe some in this forum folks have insights into what may be the reason.

How can I drain the company of as many resources as possible before I leave?

If you are impacted, what are the things you can/should ask for except for the severance? Outplacement support? Therapy? Keeping equipment? What? I'm sure there are things and resources that are available but you have to know what to ask for.

I'm EMEA based, but surely some of these are global as well. Let me know! When/if I'm impacted I want to make sure I drain every single resource along the way.
