Hanging out

It's so easy to stay on the payroll doing the very minimum work just to not get fired while taking as many paid days off for all the many reasons we can easily get away with. See, the difference between many of us and the bootlickers is that we just don't give a fck. We know we can't be fired and some day we'll be surplussed and when that happens, which it inevitably will, well celebrate and move on with our nice termination pay, which is much better than the bootlickers get. lol

5/28 PTO

Thursday is looking like a great day to call in sick and take PTO. Does it stop you from getting notified? No. Does it create more work for your manager? Yes.

Put your manager to work if they’re going to lay you off this week.

Carryover PTO

I had 8 days of carryover PTO from 2025 that I wasn’t able to use. My termination date was April 16. When I reached out to HR, I was informed that I would be paid for the unused carryover PTO since I wasn’t able to use it before the April 1 deadline due to being impacted earlier in the year.

I received a payment today that appears to include accrued PTO through my termination date, but it doesn’t seem to reflect the carryover PTO from last year.

Has anyone had a similar experience, or can confirm whether carryover PTO from the prior year is paid out in this situation?

Does PPTO count in PIL

Looking for some guidance on PPTO.

I am planning to resign but have not used all my paid parental leave (PPTO). In addition, I have vacations and carry over left as well.

Does Exxon pay the PPTO as payment in lieu (PIL) similar to the unused vacations. Does carry over vacations also count towards PIL?

Tennessee Delivery Business Folds, Workers Unpaid

Dozens of workers were suddenly laid off from an Amazon delivery service partner. Pave it Forward Logistics closed on March 31, 2026, without prior notice to its more than 50 employees. Former workers claim they are still owed significant wages and paid time off. The owner, Jerame Stout, stated he cannot pay employees because Amazon allegedly withheld $600,000 in funds. Amazon maintains that delivery partners are independent businesses responsible for their own payroll, and former employees plan to sue Stout.

Preparing for Q2 layoffs

It is no secret that Bank will have another round of layoffs in Q2, just by everything I’ve been hearing, end of April seems to be the target date.

Reading previous post on what happened back on Jan 28, don’t be in office that day, as you will be escorted out and laptop confiscated. Start taking certification courses NOW, because you won’t have access to Guild to register for more during the 60 day window. If you register now and do get impacted in a few weeks, USAA still has to cover the course(s). Send all your accomplishments, year end reviews and resume to your personal email, redeem all your recognition points because again you won’t have access to do it once they take your laptop.

More importantly, take your PTO, but use the floating holiday and volunteer hours first, as those are not paid out to you. With phase 2 of the “how we work” bank reorg, look to the person to your left and right, very good chance one of them will be impacted in the next 6-8 weeks.

Just waiting for layoff

Many of us are just hanging out at work doing the very minimum work that we can get away with without getting fired all awhile laughing about getting paid well for doing almost nothing. Also laughing about how we all know we're being replaced by automation and off-shoring and that we'll eventually be laid off. Well haha yeah we WANT to be laid off! And we ain't leaving until they PAY us to leave! It's so easy to just stay on the payroll and take advantage of all the paid days off for all the many reasons. And we laugh because we just don't care! Also because the company cannot touch us. Haha... no matter what you say, we just don't give a flying fock!

Catalyst/JCP 2026 Paid time off

Rumor has it that with the merger, Catalyst will be reevaluating how they determine Mto. I can say for myself if they pull a stunt like they did two years ago (which they reversed after the uproar), I am leaving. After more than twenty years, the only reason I am still there is because of my six weeks paid time off.

Ttec is a HEARTLESS COMPANY

Just in time for Christmas and Hannukah, this wonderful company is cutting hours for agents in one of It major lines of business. I have children who won't get much this year. And these je-ks won't let us use our accumulare sick leave or vacation to cover for it. But the billionaire founder/CEO probably will have a wonderful holiday season.

Illegal sick time practices at WF

How does WF get away with these practices of reducing PTO hours for usage of sick time?

In NYC, the following law applies: “NYC's sick leave law, the Earned Safe and Sick Time Act (ESSTA), requires employers to provide paid time off for various reasons, including personal or family illness, medical appointments, and absences due to public health emergencies or domestic violence. The amount of paid leave depends on employer size, with employers with 100+ employees providing up to 56 hours annually.”

However, WF’s own policy states: “If you’re a pto eligible employee, you don’t receive paid sick time in addition to your paid time off allowance. Instead your pto can be used for reasons covered under the sick time law to provide pay and job protection. Using sick time in workday decreases your pto balance by reducing those requested hours from your monthly pto accrual.”

Isn’t this illegal?

Everyone from Lowe’s stores should

Go to their local union and ask to vote in a union. Each store has to get 80% yea votes to vote a union into the store. Then they negotiate on behalf of the membership and their complaints. Better health care better time off. Each store should employe so many full times and so many part times. Include part time in the contract.
