So many people out on paternity and extended maternity leaves. Why isn't their work reassigned? Can't get anything done because their piece is an input. Irritated that this is impacting my ability to deliver upon objectives.

Parents with newborns and young kids...
What's the message out there lately around the company? The days of covering for each other and being accommodating with schedules over? Just genuinely curious if I'm starting a family at the wrong time. Historically it's seemed like this company was very supportive of new parents and now I don't see that. The initial family leave offered is great and all but that doesn't matter to be honest. I'd rather have no family leave time and take PTO, then have more scheduling flexibility over the course of their childhood to attend appointments, school functions, meetings, etc. It seems silly to take an hour of PTO every couple weeks or so to handle a responsibility when I could cover that time earlier or later that day. And for context, I'm not lazy, I work hard, and do my job.
Does PPTO count in PIL
Looking for some guidance on PPTO.
I am planning to resign but have not used all my paid parental leave (PPTO). In addition, I have vacations and carry over left as well.
Does Exxon pay the PPTO as payment in lieu (PIL) similar to the unused vacations. Does carry over vacations also count towards PIL?
Layoffs - On Leave
How does it work for people on parental leave? Does that make you more or less likely to be on the list? If you're on the list, how is it handled?
Parental Leave
Hi everyone. I'm currently experiencing soft pressure from leadership to not take my full 16 weeks of parental leave. My wife will begin cancer treatment shortly after birth and I already have a special needs boy to go along with this newborn.
I've been told "well, how will we promote you at the mid-year if you're on leave?"
I could definitely use the pay increase, but everything from leadership has made me distrust them. I know the right answer is to take my full leave and probably look for a new job while on leave (not at a core site).
I guess I'm just looking for some pep talks around not feeling guilty about leaving my already short-staffed team even more short staffed.
Do you have to come back after parental leave
I cannot find anywhere that says you have to return to work for a certain amount of time after parental bonding leave in order to keep the pay. Can anyone confirm this? US
Could it be retaliation for taking Parental leave?
Has anyone seen or been in a similar situation before? What have you done?
The situation: I got “meets” rating for mid-year review and was told: “you’re at the border of exceeds. Keep doing what you doing”. Started parental leave late August, came back to work mid December. To my shock and disbelief received “needs improvement” for year-end with some made up excuses to justify it. No prior warnings or coaching about what I could be possibly doing wrong that would lead to this rating. And the fact that I was absent four month out of 6. Is it all so I don’t get the bonus?
Quitting after leave penalties?
Does anyone know if there are implications of quitting immediately after your parental leave ends?
Is Nike considered a pro-family employer for workers with young children?
Specifically, what policies, benefits, or programs does Nike offer to support work-life balance for married employees with young families, such as flexible scheduling, parental leave, childcare support, or family-friendly workplace initiatives?
Just started recently and I found that my team is made up of people with “partners” and/or dog owners that don’t seem to want nor care about a future in family. I push myself hard at work and make concessions to be present for off-site work but after a week, I usually need/want to go home to my family. The people I work with seem to obsess over the job, no work/life balance, so not ask for help, and are fine with not progressing personally (none of my business but I find it odd). I don’t understand it and wonder if this is the case with other departments. This work culture is unlike any I have been around and it’s discouraging to never feel like I am doing enough.
