This is a rhetorical question.
I think we'll, for once, have a thread where people agree on the response.

Everyday I hope I log on to an HR meeting
@ss The AI models also can't create or innovate, they've stagnated for years when it comes to what they can actually accomplish. You people see applications to video generation and think that same logic applies to enhancements in code generation, performing complex tasks, etc. It's funny how you repeatedly proven wrong again and again at this company, and yet still believe AI is going to solve this company's problems.
When you replace the people who actually do work with something as d-mb as AI, you are ringing the death knell for this company. In reality, AI is more-so meant for the jobs of these people who host meetings just to say REVOLUTIONARY sh-t like "how can we use more AI?"
How many AI projects need to fail before you realize it's accomplishing nothing here? That you're just pi----g away money and ki-ling off your actual talent?
Optum has a culture? If you can call dysfunction, toxicity, inefficiency, ineptitude, and just general cluster f---ery "culture," then I guess we have a culture.
@dh good for you boomer. We are not going to work hard without being compensated. It’s a different world now.
I prefer to focus on what I HAVE and not on what I DON'T HAVE
There is no culture. In my year here there has never been, maybe it was different before but everyone I know who is here is either looking to leave or came from UHG/UHC and is trying to find a way back to those entities.
EVPs and business segment CEOs change every 2-3 quarters. There is zero mission, alignment, or business strategy at all. Maybe the C suite has one but it doesn't exist in the executive leadership of the subsidiaries because the leaders all leave once they have a basic understanding of Optum.
Manager got laid off, got put under an offshore manager who knows nothing about what I do and makes no effort to do so, not even sure what he does. Pretty sure nothing, he just bosses around other people to have them do what was normally my former manager's role, for him.
I don't get what the plan is. Why staff this company with a bunch of Indian managers/leaders who do not care and who do nothing, and layoff the people who actually cared about what they did?
To answer your question though, it's making the culture more toxic. Toxicity, the ratio of offshore to onshore management/leaders, and mentions of AI all look like one solid line when mapped onto a graph.
If you were the CEO and the company’s revenue and profit were declining while investors were unhappy, what would you do then?
