Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

Enhanced Performance Monitoring

How are we all feeling about this? Direct result of end of year?
Heard that it's a way to get mutual separation without having to go through redundancy process.

HR will clearly be company focused but anyone appealing it? Getting any concrete answers?

I feel for anyone going through this. Keep the head up and don't let them bully you!

Did they do layoff again? I’m looking through some Slack channels such as global-announcement and see about 100 head-account less.

Yes, know people myself included in this. It's very much they need at least 5% in this bracket and dying on that hill.
Some departments it's easier to see with metrics such as AHT, SLA etc... but other's seem like some made up bullsh*t.

How many of you were recently asked to choose between PIP and leaving the company? What kind of "deal" was offered?

In some markets from a legal standpoint it is not binding, but it's communication from your employer and you have to take it. I believe it's a way to demolish morale even more, and yes, slowly pushing people out of the organization. Sometimes it can be necessary to reduce workforce, but it's so sad seeing PayPal become a kebab bulk that has to be trimmed every Q1. Fingers crossed for all of us
