HR layoffs Monday?
Has anyone else heard that HR will be conducting their own layoffs Nov 3rd?
NP laid off effective immediately, no notice prior to being let go?
I work on the clinical team where a nurse practitioner is laid off with no notice. Not sure about severance, I'm sure they got it. But why are they getting no notice prior. Most other workers seem to get 30 days or 90 days notice. This is in the Midwest. It was less then 50 people for 1 location
Store Closing 2026
any news of store closings next year
Those who make light of keeping or losing your job...
Have you seen the job market?
Have you talked to those who are looking for a job?
Have you talked to those who have been looking for months or even more than a year to find a job?
It is a cr-p job market right now. Even in major metro areas like Des Moines, Minneapolis, Phoenix, etc.. Intelligent, professional, experienced, hard-working people can't find squat right now. And signs from the markets don't point to a turnaround anytime soon. And heading into EOY and holiday season is generally a slow time for hiring in any type of market.
And some of you need to get over this WFH! WFH! WFH! attitude. For several reasons. Not only do many companies hot have a strong WFH position, but don't presume you will just stroll into a job that even offers WFH. Guess what? You are not the only one fighting for the job. You think you are good, but are you the best? You feel you have excellent skills but are they relevant and current to today's world? Guess what? Being an expert at Excel is not the gold star it was 10 years ago.
If you have ANY hint or thought that your position will go away, if you do not have a nice nest egg on-hand, and/or a decent number of years for a nice severance period, you best start looking now while you still have the WF paycheck. And if you are part of a couple where both work at WF, one of you better already be walking out on the blank to jump somewhere else.
Down 78k employees, time to get lean??
This is going to be similar to what Elon did to Twitter when he bought it.
"To the long-suffering men and women in the trenches of the Verizon workforce, this may sound like a new commander's call for another big push days after the last fruitless effort. Under Hans Vestberg, Schulman's predecessor, Verizon's headcount shrank by 44,900 employees between 2018 and 2024, about 31% of the earlier total. Since 2015, the number has plummeted by 78,100. All this carnage has still not apparently produced the lean machine that Schulman, who has been the top independent director on Verizon's board since 2018, wants to see. "

AT&T has avoided negative press due to RTO
Which caused voluntary attrition. Don’t get me wrong, they did lay some employees off but not on the same scale as meta, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.
What does the future hold for T? Do you all think they will start more structured layoffs in the years to come?
Dealer Meeting
Who else finds it shameful and offensive to employees that Ricoh has can spend millions on a useless Dealer meeting in Nashville (following Printing United) amid a freeze on merit increases and rolling layoffs? Who are they kidding?... Most of what was presented - except for A3 MFPs and Brother-A4's cannot even be sold by their Dealers.
As long as Fiserv can pay me I will work hard
..... if the end is bankruptcy or sold off so be it. Just please pay severance
severance tellin the tale – no job losses comin in Q4

Layoffs in EMEA
3rd of November will start Layoffs in EHQ and PTC and week after in ELC. In the meantime, ITC grow rapidly - hundreds of new positions. I have the impression that the company is moving to India. I wonder if it's because Sr LT in GT come from India…
Columbia sc
There were engineering, IT, MES, operations, and HR lay offs on Wednesday and Friday. In which horrible same people force work inventory . While it was happening management were eating steaks
No Business Update Invite Yet—Anyone Else?
Just wanted to follow up—still no invite on my end. Curious if anyone here has received theirs yet or heard anything through the grapevine?
Also, for those tracking layoffs.com/dell, keep an eye on the bot activity. Historically, when things start shifting, the upvote/downvote patterns tend to flatten out. Might be worth watching over the next few weeks.
Share what you know.
Why bother RIF if you have are hardworking?
We all know the answer, it's the lazy and d-mb people at top with no idea about the work we do.
Funny thing is, they are in control of the list again.
Why no WARN data on TWC site for COP
There is still no listing for the upcoming COP lay-off on the TWC site. The list is obviously up to date because there are listings from the end of October. This is just one more reason why Texas su-ks and needs a complete overhaul from the top down. It is never for the people here with the current regime in power. Examples are:
support to take away women’s rights, minimizing employees rights, having Ten Commandments posted in public schools, not being able to bring citizen referendums to the polls, and playing political games with national guard just to lick the boots of the mo--n leading this country. We should never go as far as California but there is something in between Texas and California that works better than the current situation.
Target needs to look in the mirror
I am recently retired from your largest competitor (you can figure that out) after 40 years that saw our company go from the Stone Age to the dominant retailer in the World.
I still follow the retail business closely, and indeed these are changing times for all. Reviewing the posts regarding the recent layoffs at Target, I can certainly understand peoples pain and concern. At the same time, I want to say to a lot of the commenters complaining that it's time to face reality. Target has not kept pace with the times, particularly in technology and operations and store level execution.
I urge all of you to get out of your Corporate cacoon in Minneapolis and visit a darn Target store. They are awful. Standards, execution, merchandising, all just below expectations. Out of stocks on Merchandise everywhere. My local Target in an affluent area of Omaha NE ( 180th and West Center) is a pig stye. Carts of returns everywhere, freight all over the floor. The store does not get straightened at night or throughout the day. The Walmart across the street is pristine. There was a time when this is what a Walmart store looked like. Not anymore. The Walmarts I've been in lately are much cleaner, neater and instock than the Targets, and years ahead on technology that both associates and customers use to enhance their shopping experience.
Quit complaining and get out into your stores!
Age Discrimination
I was surplused and last day on payroll is 11/6. In the packet, they provide an age discrimination sheet that shows the age of everyone in my organization with the same title. I am, in fact, the oldest.
I am over 50 & located in Dallas. I am a single parent so I need the severance money but I am curious if anyone else filed a lawsuit instead. Was it worth it?
People who are left, how are we feeling?
How is morale at the office? My team has lost so many people this year it feels strange to go into the office and have basically no one around. How is everyone doing?
First RIF then VSP
Yes, it's true that RIF is due later this month. However, I heard that since Dan wants to make the org extremely lean, they are also planning for a VSP in 2Q'2026. Anyone heard about that?
Wouldn't that be interesting? Trim the fat once and then trim the folks sitting on the edge again?
Let's say you didn't get RIFed, would you take the next VSP?
Anyone else hyper sensitive to everything…
… during this time? Weird looks from HR, snarky comment from your boss, IT folks wandering around counting docking stations and monitors?
Intel is hiring but please don’t join our team
Just post this here so people think we aren’t going to lay off anymore.
The Effects of AI on the U.S. economy.
AI does (not) -
Pay Tax revenues.
On the (exponentially rising) U.S. National debt of $38.0 Trillion whereby U.S. taxpayers pay approximately ($969.3 Billion in Interest a year) to outside Investors (almost a Trillion a year) that are both U.S. based, and foreign like Japan; and China; for example.
AI won't replace (anything) that is (not) computer driven.
CEO Elon Musk recently made a (Very incompetant) statement that it would replace (all) jobs.
It won't, but it will replace a lot of entry-level white collar jobs; and a lot of manufacturing; though.
MH hits all-time low - $11.16 - Layouts are coming...
With a stock that is plummeting at record pace, anyone hearing about new layoffs?
Move on....its not worth it
After 28 years, Dec 31 2024 was it for me. Cannot tell you how relieved I do not have to deal with the ups and downs of VZ. The constant every year layoffs, and BS of the senior managers, directors who protect their buddies, and their "click", ridiculous high school games. Learn what you can on their dime, and move on. You may make less money, but in the end you'll be much happier. In the Bell Atlantic days, things were pretty good, but when the suits came in they f'ed it all up. Who remembers when VZ Wireless moved into BR and we had separate floors, badges, what a sh-t show. Fridays VZ W would wear jeans, and the VZ suits would look at you like an alien. Just because you wear a suit does not mean your smarter, or better. Get off the hamster wheel, find something gives you something....in the end.
VZ is NOT the best anymore, face it
Recent Layoffs
On Thursday, 10/30 a large number of IT employees have been affected by RIFs effective 12/31. There is no public acknowledgement of these activities. This was somewhat expected due to the ongoing expansion of Amgen India in Hyderabad, a decision made roughly a year ago for obvious financial reasons.
Impacted employees are offered severance packages that should help in the interim.
Layoffs again soon
Heavy sigh
R2B Reps Gone
Majority of R2B reps are going to be gone with an opportunity to apply to retail, B2B or another position. Retail business support will be a combination of B2B, AI and a new support line similar to click to call that basically will process transactions and either dfill or ISPU. No need to continue to pay duel comp. The new plans will be simplified and almost mirror consumer plans. B2B will also take a big hit and streamline the multiple layers of leadership and account executives.
Laidoff Directors, VP's, EVP's can start new companies
This is perfect moment for axed leaders to spin up their own ventures. They do have cash & stability compared to IC's.
With this brutal job market it would be a better opportunity for people to join hands for a new venture.
You can reach out to your loyal IC's who hand your back to band together. Tap your network of technologists and join hands with people who got laid off whether in US or in Asia.
I am sure that the upcoming job market will be tough with 14K+ amazonians and 5+ others flooding the market along with Oracle employees. This also gives some breathing space for visa holders and lower IC's to find jobs.
“JOBS FOR LIFE “
Jeremy “Jobs for Life” tells NS student conductors “ They have a “Career not a JOB “… I wonder if he told that to the current UP employees being furloughed ? How many folks with years of experience lost their jobs to PSR ? NS employees have no idea what Jimmy.V is capable of doing to a railroad !
What happened to Hans?
I just just saw Vz got a new CEO. Does that mean layoffs expected?
more layoffs in Boise
big layoff in Boise today. Many supporting the Micron and Photronics toolbase were cut loose....
Halloween’s got nothing on the new C-Suite at Quest Software
Seems like Quest Software’s management has completely lost the plot. Leadership keeps talking about “AI” like it’s some magic fix, but it’s obvious most of them don’t even understand what the products actually do. It’s all buzzwords and no direction.
The work environment has become toxic — people are walking on eggshells, afraid of being the next one on a PIP. Feels like they’re trying to push people out instead of doing proper layoffs so they can avoid paying severance.
There’s a lot of backstabbing going on now, too. Everyone’s in survival mode, trying to protect themselves because no one trusts leadership anymore.
Used to be a great company with solid products and good people. Now it’s chaos and confusion from the top down. Sad to watch what it’s turned into.
Per diem
How does optum pay out per diem weekly salary for time after the last day in office to separation date. Do they calculate an average?
My team has become Indian team
I am based in San Francisco Bay Area. The recent layoffs has removed many non Indian engineers. Have you guys seen the same?
GREED
What adds insult to injury?
My last day after well over 30 years is Nov 20, no two day Thanksgiving pay.
Max severance is 182 days, only getting severance pay for less than 1/2 of my tenure.
C suite automatically get 2 full years severance unrelated to their years of service.
The previous layoff in January 25 everyone received max 182 days PLUS $10K. No $10K this time around. Seems like precedent was set and taken away.
This level of greed, cronyism (BH hiring family and friends) and the consistent ADDITIONAL C SUITE hires should speak to the dark soul leaders of this company.
Displacement packet
I was just let go and wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything to get severance. I got the email and I clicked for my signature and then submitted. Is that all we need to do? Any way to validate I’m good?
7000+ strong or 7000+ bloated?
What number does the big boss have in mind? The layoffs won't stop til that number is reached.
