You bnsf guys need to understand a couple things.
UP lies about what we spend per dollar. On top of my head, UP is spending .47 per dollar while bnsf is .65 per dollar. This WRONG info is to get you guys to cut and make wrong decisions. You are the competition and believe everything. It’s to set you guys up to fail. We are taking your coal (you own the line too).
You exempts all need to find different jobs. They payed you 50% bonus in 2025 and 60% bonuses in 2026? How’s that working out? Are you happy? They brainwashed you to ruin everyone else’s life then yours next?
Everyone at the railroad needs to save their money. Small town mechanical jobs are going away to contractors. They do it cheaper, effectively and more competition. “That won’t affect me” it will. Every craft has been messed with. Pipefitters? Brakeman? Ask them how secure their jobs were.
You all are going to get buy offs before long to leave the company… not 100k or 200k buy outs…. Less than 10 grand. Don’t believe it right? Just ask the exempt that got cut today how much they were offered to leave the company.
Headcount per manger grows and that means employees later. Mangers cost less money than scheduled employees. “We need to cut employees or your gone” attitude.

Heard they laid off a few Superintendents on the Transportation side and FLS’s across the system. If you were an Administrative Assistant they eliminated system wide.
If you have Assistant in your title you are probably gone.
