Are layoffs negatively impacting NKE? Don’t think so.

I know there’s a lot of frustration about the layoffs at Nike Corporate, EHQ Tech, and recently Converse, and I’m hearing there may be another one coming in Tech. Layoffs are always tough on people.

But an honest question after 3000+ roles were eliminated, what major capability actually stopped working or broke? It feels like most operations have continued as before which suggests there was significant organizational bloat that likely needed to be addressed.

Ultimately, growth will only return when the product lineup improves. Not by avoiding layoffs.

Heart goes out to those impacted!

As the post says, my heart goes out to those impacted in January.

When I was impacted in 2023, I had a designated HR person assigned to me to help try and find another internal role, which I was able to do. From what I’m hearing and seeing online, this round of layoffs is different from those in the past, as there is no HR person designated to those to find another internal role, instead it’s a 3rd party company LHH that is being offered for resume and interviewing classes to help with “being successful after USAA.”

You would think USAA would try to find those impacted another role to lessen the number it has to report to each states workforce commission.

But for USAA recruiters to do what they’re currently doing to so many impacted, that is not cool at all.

The farewell emails today were sad

Just a sad day for all those impacted. Some really good workers let go who have been here a long time. The rest are wondering when their turn will be.

25% of our department was cut and I only heard of one person finding a internal role in the 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone. This job doesn’t define who you are as a person.

Why are some departments always hit so hard? ISG/CSG for example

I always thought ISG = Inside Sales Group and CSG = Channel Sales Group, but apparently neither are sales related... Still don't know what they are but, why are those groups seemingly always hit so hard?

What did they do to pi-s off the Dell "gods?"
