As much fear and angst that have been posted on tbis board for the past few weeks about the 17th being doomsday and the small number of posts today, this sure seems like a nothingburger with a small number of people impacted.

3 directors already announced retirement this morning in NPC&E. we lost about 10% and 1 AD in my group.
Low impact. Nothingburger. Death by papercut. Check the next quarterly report. Will be <1000.
10% is hardly a nothing burger in most orgs. Was busy throwing out life lines after i got notified this AM.
Definitely not a nothing burger with the average being 10% cut across the company with some groups taking bigger hits.
Think again, classless.
A number of the employees I know who were impacted were doing the bare minimums. Their selection shouldn’t have been a surprise.
I got hit and the last thing on my mind was coming here to post. But I was going to retire within the next year anyway so I'm coming out ok getting paid not to work. Had they not hit me, they would have saved the severance but instead I got to save someone else. So from my standpoint, it's fine. But from the company standpoint, just another stupid play.
I can see the trolls are busy trolling and wanting to start more discord. If someone is forced out, that's anything but a nothingburger in their world - and it's a common occurrence in today's business world. AT&T is not unique in continuing to indiscriminately cut jobs, often moving work overseas where the workforce is much less costly.
I'm all for folks volunteering to be separated from their jobs with packages to allow to those who need to work longer the ability and option to do so. We aren't talking about someone who isn't performing; we're talking about the number crunchers deciding a X% reduction needs to occur and they are mercilessly in carrying it out.

Not for the people who were impacted. 10% of MGO (marketing) isn’t a nothingburger, putz.
Yeah well ask the design engineers about that they got hit hard……. Maybe they don’t wanna let it out…….. plenty of others impacted it was bad
