So tired of being asked to do more to make up for layoffs
I’m now being pressured to take on the work of another team that was let go when my own team was recently cut by more than 50%. I already can’t deal with the extra work left by the people who were let go on my team, let alone try to help another team... — read more
Glassdoor
I am incredulous that 50% of Glassdoor respondents would recommend US Bank to a friend and 30% approve of GK. These figures seem way too high. Do you think HR tracks these and comments to raise the numbers?
Overtime- Taxes
Does someone know what the difference between FLSA overtime and regular overtime is on payslip. I am curious why FLSA overtime for the no-tax-on-overtime for tax reporting.
Townhall tomorrow
Who’s ready for the Townhall? Anyone planning on posting a very legit, accountability question we all can thumbs up so it gets answered?
What’s the layoff strategy?
I know there are people active on this site that have been helpful as we’ve faced these recent layoffs. I’m curious if they, or anyone, has credible information on the strategy here. It seems this past round had a large focus on remote, performance... — read more
“Chief Administrative Officer” role at the bank
What does a CAO do? What does your BL’s CAO do? What are their responsibilities and are they really needed at the bank? I feel like it’s another inflated title for someone without a real role. What am I missing?
The final insult
Do it. Lay off the productive people again. Promote the ones who are best at politics. The company will keep declining, and I'll be long gone, relieved to not be part of the slow-motion train wreck anymore.
USB has lost the best of us
Veteran employee here. Never in my 20+ years here have I felt so stressed, so anxiety filled, so burnt out, and so diminished. Leaders at the top continue to use smoke in mirrors with what seems like government classified secrecy, while all the... — read more
Irrelevant Middle Management
If they are shifting employee led initiatives like employees are responsible for development efforts and writing their own individual goals. What's the point of top heavy management? We dont need them! They cause more risk to the company by being... — read more
CRT / EFCC
This should be concerning to U.S. Bank’s CEO: There is an ongoing concern regarding the excessive number of management positions within EFCC specifically CRT(Grade 14 and higher) within U.S. Bank. From an employee perspective, many of these roles... — read more

Compensation increase?
Has anyone received their merit increase % yet? Trying to see what I should expect.
New Chairman
Let the unfettered McKinsey begin. Get that efficiency ration down now. Layoffs anyone,
Agile Leadership, lol
Let’s start by saying the quiet part out loud: most of the “agile leadership” still hanging around the bank looks like the clearance rack of corporate transformation. Folks who washed out of Best Buy and Target and couldn’t quite stick the landing... — read more
Is everyone OK?
Anyone else's manager losing their mind and creating insane and unclear and unreasonable expectations they cant even explain? Its like there is absolute no accountability for these middle managers running amuck reeking havok and creating chaos.
Being an overpaid su-kup is your biggest risk
It nice to feel better than the colleagues because the boss like you and pays you more. But when the eggheads at central office start running spreadsheets and who can get cut to save money, you stick out like a sore thumb and an easy choice to cull... — read more
Will we stay at 3 days hybrid?
Does a reporting dashboard going up mean that 3 days hybrid is here to stay?
RTO dashboard
It looks like one is now available
RTO
Rachael Clark told her group a few weeks ago that the bank is letting MN folks work from home until January 30, but she expected that to be extended. Has anyone heard if that has changed?
The latest tone deaf message from Gunjan
On a Sunday and of course no mention of safety measures and work from home for Minneapolis employees due to unrest. Typical clown CEO. Donate while I cut your jobs. Can she get any worse?
Can profits stop job cuts?
Serious question: has strong performance ever actually stopped a round of layoffs from happening? It seems like they happen no matter what.

MN people, are they still forcing you to to go 3 days a week
I am in OR hub, but if I am in MN hub, no way I am going to in. Have they send out emails this month to nit go into office till the chaos dies down? Will we get an email on Monday telling us to go in if we can?
CEO pay
This is the thing we're not talking about enough. https://www.startribune.com/us-bancorps-ceo-pay-increased-14percent-in-2024/601233686 U.S. Bancorp’s CEO pay increased 14% in 2024 Andrew Cecere realized $15.9 million in total compensation for 2024
Explain that one?
I am having a hard time understanding some of the layoffs. Is it just targeting highly compensated people, and replacing them with cheaper, less qualified labor? Not quite sure how G plans to pull this one off.
“Aim Higher” - Nope
What am I aiming higher for? Maybe a 2% merit increase if I’m lucky? I’m so incredibly sick and tired of being told I need to do more while being offered less and less. The whole MC is garbage and needs to go.
Engineering Career Over

Next round of the culling?
Ok now that round 1 of layoffs have taken place, what does anyone know about round 2? I’m sure we all are smart enough to know there’s multiple rounds and a list.
This was a Good Layoff in IT - Long Overdue
Targeting the level 15 was long overdue. Most of them were promoted due to favoritism and not talented and do not contribute anything significant over a level 13. Many of the grade 15 I knew were given LoP out of favoritism, failed many... — read more
