It will get really bad around here

The worst part is knowing this won’t be quick. It’ll drag on and put everyone more on edge by the day. Most of us are just clinging to the hope of keeping our jobs, because opportunities out there are slim to none. That alone will fuel frustration... — read more

It’s such a shame

Ansys was a strong company on its own. We didn’t need this to happen. It was our work that made Ansys successful, yet now we’re now treated as expendable. Do they even care what happens to performance once so many of us are gone?

I’m worried

Not because I’m crazy about this job or the company, but because it’s really bad out there. My wife lost her job six months ago and still hasn’t found anything even remotely decent or in her field. I’m terrified of becoming jobless too. Honestly, the... — read more

10 percent is just the start

This is the opening salvo. If we’re spared and it all hits Ansys’ side, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we hear about more cuts on our side soon after. No acquisition of this magnitude happens without major workforce realignments, and this will be... — read more

More layoffs

Ridiculous. Greed greed greed. All to buy Ansys.

Synopsys had a layoff today

The group where I work lost 2 people. But I can't tell how many people were laid off by the company.

Layoffs are here..

I heard there are some layoffs happening in the North America offices, maybe other locations too. Verification and Implementation AEs are impacted. Not sure if any R&D impacted as well.

News on more cuts?

It's been a while since we had any news on more layoffs. Is this a reason to celebrate or should I worry that something major is brewing?

Enough is enough

I understand that the situation is not easy right now for us or any other company, but Synopsys has really been overdoing it with layoffs. How many is enough? Will there even be enough people to do the work once the situation is back to normal if the... — read more

What about this week?

Are we looking at even more layoffs? The coronavirus crisis doesn't seem to be slowing down so I'm pretty sure we'll see more cuts before it's all over. It'd just be good to know when to expect them. Just worrying about layoffs every single day is... — read more

Info on layoffs

Layoffs were done yesterday via email since everyone is working from home. Early retirements were also offered. They just did one end of last year, seems to be an annual event. But yesterday's layoff took employees by surprise. This was posted by... — read more

Has Synopsys started with layoffs?

I've heard conflicting reports - some people are saying there were layoffs and some claim not only that nobody was laid off but the company is hiring people. I'm not sure what to think anymore...

SNPS pretty standard formula - 10 years wasted....

Running out of steam on Technology side so buy 3'rd rate companies to get development talent in near term since can not develop internally with working outcome- result is now very low, low "Kwalittee" of products, especially in IP division. Senior... — read more

Heard total 50~80 people mostly senior AEs and few other non-performers. I personally know 12 people and heard about the rest.

Layoffs every year

I've been with Synopsys for a little over five years, and while I truly do enjoy working here, the constant layoffs are taking their toll on me. Since I've been here, we've had a round of layoffs every single year. This has become a pattern, and we... — read more

No career growth on the horizon

Like many of us here at Synopsys, if you’re looking for career growth - you won’t find it. Middle management shows ineptitude regularly and won’t assist you with career advancement. Over all this is a conservative environment, with old school... — read more
