Why do people even bother with kissing a$$ to upper management and then burdening themselves with the fake lifestyle of pretending to matter as a 'middle manager'? I did tech for about 20 years and then retired because my 'butt kissing' manager was an a-hole. Just wondering what in the he-l inspires someone to be that person that most people despise.

Bad things to say.
There are so many bad things to say I can’t decide where to start. Stay tuned.
Perpetual reorgs
We've had so many reorgs in the last few years and the only thing that changes after it's done is we have fewer employees who have to work more for the same money. Nothing else ever changes. What kind of pathetic, incompetent leadership only uses layoffs to prop themselves up?
One Guy's Assessment of the now infamous "Rant"
Now that a little time has passed, I thought about sharing some thoughts with you all, John's minions, and the staff at Business Insider and other outfits who scour these forums for hints, facts, or observations. BI asked for comments to their survey about 'the memo'
John's right. loyalty is dead. His memo makes that clear. The 'multi year transformation' is code for job over career. This won't improve collaboration. They tried that with workplace 2020. We don't collaborate. We find a corner of space and lay low until we slip out to catch the train.
This message only serves to further divide. Many of T's brightest and most loyal have and will continue to simply find a new home where innovation and commitment are rewarded. Some will praise their leaders for cutting the slackers, ki-ling dei, improving collaboration... basically parroting the CEO and his priests. Many will complain and threaten to leave but they will eventually find their way to the stream where the majority of the company resides. They are the ambivalent masses who know how to stay quiet and carry on. They badge in, go to meetings, send a few emails, and speak when spoken to. They are the 'future' if which John is building. Clock watchers. Professional annual-review authors. Gantt charts, ppt decks, and endless backlogs of well defined but rarely delivered work products. They learn the buttons to press to get the cheese.
If this all sounds familiar it is probably because John seems to have channeled old 80's corporate movies as his inspiration for the workforce if the future. Cool thing is that 2025 tech lets the uninspired masses watch them while pretending to work.
In conclusion. B+ for conviction and passion, C+ for staying on target. He does have a knack for going off on tangents. D for knowing you audience. F for delivery. When in doubt, wait it out. Remember that rule, J? Wait 24 hours and make sure you're not letting emotions cloud your better judgement.
Our reputation is gone
Long gone are the days when people dreamed of working at Intel. Now we can’t even attract mediocre employees, and the top talent is avoiding us in wide berths. I fear this kind of loss of reputation is irreparable and we’ll be feeling it for a long time to come.
Enough with the mass hiring sprees followed by mass layoffs
It’s like the company has turned the workforce into a seasonal commodity instead of actual people. Every new round chips away at any remaining loyalty or pride in the work. Enough is enough. And if you don't know how high our hiring is, go and check. Makes no sense amid constant layoffs.
Carelon CCA Disaster
As CCA (Complex Clinical Audit) is very young in its programs so let’s change up leadership by moving around Directors that have never worked in other line of business…this makes zero sense. JS the Staff VP this is her grand idea. Let’s cause more division and turnover. It’s going to take 6 months to year to train these Directors in their new positions and who’s going to have to do it…the teams the managers and staff who are currently drowning!! Don’t ever work in CCA. It’s horrible everyday and the blame rests on the managers to fix the survey results!
Why should I keep busting my back when half my team can’t even pull their weight?
It’s exhausting watching people coast while the rest of us scramble to get things done. Every project ends up feeling like a fight, not just against the actual work, but against all the nonsense that comes with covering for others. And then to see them survive a layoff round after a layoffs round? No. Just, no.
Haven't seen this type of post in a couple of weeks " Layoffs coming in (enter month)?
My LL6 who spoke to his LL5 who is married to someone working for Ford Finance said.... so I know this is true!
To date, I would like to know the total number of people who left, finding other employment, retired or left for other reasons other than being layoff. (sickness, death)
It would probably exceed the false claims of layoffs made on this website this year!
Quit complaining yall and get back to the office.
I am sick of all the whining about RTO. Either return to the office 5 days a week and do the work or leave as Stankey has stated. They are paying good salary and benefits for in-person collaboration. Working from home is a privilege, and is dictated by the business needs.
If you are outside of Dallas, Atlanta, or NJ - our core hubs - either relocate or leave as Stankey has stated. They are cutting down on hub locations so that they can invest better in the hubs that make sense for them. Your work location is dictated by the business.
Employees have no control over RTO and work location - these are dictated by the business. If you cannot be onsite 5 days a week in Dallas, Atlanta, or NJ - then leave as Stankey has stated. Yet yall stay and ruin it for those who do follow the rules.
I'm done with this
I'm done with the stress, the constant drip of half-information, the endless waiting to see if layoffs are coming or not. I'm just done. From here on out, I'm quiet quitting. Any extra time or energy I have is going into finding a new job. This place doesn’t deserve more from us after the way we've been treated.
If the people who post on this site stay....I am leaving
I am embarrassed at the moaning and groaning from people who claim to be employees. Anyone who looks at this site must think we are a company of sensitive crybabies. Now there is even an anti-vaxxer having another cry a hundred years later.
Who cares? Nobody.
Nobody owes you anything, and honestly, with how you feel about the company, we can't get rid of you fast enough.
But, if somehow the people here stay, you'll always find something to cry about. Even in the good times.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do us all a favor, go away, find the job of your dreams.
The only thing I am happy about is that none of you are in the military. If you were serving your country, we'd all be doomed.
BACK TO WASHING EGGS - THAT'S THE HARDEST JOB IN THE WORLD - THANKS GRAND-FATHER LARRY
28+ years of hard-work, dedication, respect for management , keeping Larry in prayers gone down with less than 2 minutes of a call with unknown je-k. Voila network disconnected in < 5 minutes. Was part of R&D. Wall Street reporters should makes noise on what's going on with the company Anyone here ! Mr. L has to support his 5/6 bride (Elephant is out of hat & you did not hear from me) !!
F8 Utensils
any news on utensils @F8 since I left? LOL I still laugh thinking about that. What a joke that place is...
Transunion US Labor Day
For a company that hates its own American workers to celebrate a national holiday honoring them is ironic .
Has anyone looked at Ford's Layoff Page?
They look to be in big trouble.... Which asylums do they hire from?
San Ramon Move to Houston Timing July 2026?
Found this embedded in another post and elevating here. Strange comment on this year, which is not possible, but it goes on to say the vast majority are expected in houston July 1st:
The revised timeline presents notable implications for San Ramon. According to one of the decks shared with our team, the guidance indicates that relocations should occur "ASAP," with the majority of transitions finalized by the end of this year. However, there are specific exceptions extending into 2026.
For employees with school-aged children and confirmed roles within the new organization, relocation is expected to take place during the summer of 2026. After July 1, 2026, the only personnel remaining in San Ramon will be those scheduled to exit the company by year-end. These individuals will be responsible for managing transition-related activities.
We’ve been informed that there will be no exceptions for employees continuing with the company to remain in San Ramon beyond July 2026. Most VPs overseeing personnel have access to a standardized Q&A document. If you have questions, please reach out directly to your group’s VP for clarification.
While we understand this may be a significant change, remaining in San Ramon is not a viable option moving forward.
Meetings are out of control
I swear, more and more hours are being eaten up by endless check-ins with no real purpose. Work slows down while we have to listen to pointless updates and calls. Everyone is rightfully frustrated over this - outside of those who have nothing else to do as it is. Letting the rest of us focus without constant interruptions would make a huge difference.
This job is just a stopgap
After several years here, it feels like nothing more than a temporary pit stop. Layoffs keep coming, and management uses all sorts of tricks to push people out quietly. I’m planning to stick it out a bit longer to weather the storm, but I already know I’ll be looking for something more stable and rewarding soon.
your job is not your family - it is a transaction.
companies might smile, send emails, and say they care, but the second you cost them money, raise a pr concern, or even trip over some tiny clause in your endless contract, they’ll cut ties without blinking. it doesn’t take a mistake - if business turns bad, you and your coworkers can disappear overnight. that whole “we’re all family here” line? it’s marketing, not reality.
work already takes more of your time than the people you truly care about. it weighs heavier on your mental health than most parts of life. and in the end, if they need to, they will replace you.
so remember: employers are not friends, not family. they exchange money for your time and effort, nothing more. your part is to do the work, not sacrifice yourself.
here is our mantra:
- protect your time with family and friends
- protect your mental health from being drained by a job
- stand by your own values instead of bending to fit in
- don’t fall for hustle culture - it demands more than it gives
Livonia
It'd be good if she was to pack up and go back to Livonia. Wishful thinking, it was actually me who is being sent back to Lansing. Nothing more to add aside from wishing every one the best in hope that you all will have better luck than I had. This used to be a great place to work at and with time that shiny aura has morphed into something much darker.
Now is beyond the time to leave Xerox
Or what’s left of it. Why people are still here after being destroyed by this company is beyond me. Even with no skills you can sweep floors. I would feel so much better telling someone that I left this industry and decided to take a job in maintenance and cleaning. At least they would know that I have work ethic and a conscious as well. Incredible that people stay here, just waiting to be sleighed, one by one. To think you will find a magic bullet that fixes all this, after what they have done, is insane lunacy.
You don’t need to explain to anyone. Just leave and be done with it. The healing begins immediately after that.
But you need to make turns first step before your department is wiped out and eliminated.
SF is the is the worst of the worst! Bottom of the trash barrel
The worst thing about SF is that it's a Mutual Company and there is no one to hold the Executives accountable for their actions. A Mutual Company works when the Executives are in it for the mutual benefit of the policyholders and employees. When you get incompetent and immoral leaders in place (MT, JF, CS, KC) they can abuse the system. They fleece the policyholders and employees out of every penny they can to enrich themselves. Shareholders are not much better but they usually demand a level of competence that we do not have. They make changes when stuff does not work. Shareholders would fire all these incompetent goons and get away from the useless agency model. We have been hiding for a long time behind the SF Mutual Company and MK getting called in front of a congressional panel recently scared the sh-t of some Execs because they saw the possibility of getting found out. It will catch them....they are all crooks! There used to be some honor among thieves. It is ok to lay people off, give them a severance package and then let them draw unemployment while they are looking of a job. There is a right way and wrong way to sc--w people over. State Farm, they just torture employees, make them miserable and try to force them out. They lie, manipulate, con and use every other ba----d arrss tactic to try to destroy people. Run away from this place as soon as you can.
Wireless is now This Company's Stepchild
It's about time it was realized that, without wireline's monetary backing, the wireless ship would have never floated or even left port.
Without wireline's welfare-like subsidizing of any of their landline issues, that ship would not have stayed afloat so long, were the playing field leveled to competitors.
Yet these, so-called, wireless "management" bozos still thought they were superior strategists, yet they could never have realistically competed in a real world, one on a level playing field.
They needed to su-kle at the te-t of their landline counterparts, their benefactors, all the while viewing their intellectual, experienced superiors with disdain and always biting the lone hand that allowed for their existence. Like a spoiled, wet behind the ears, teen who thinks they know everything.
Chuck Robbins needs to GO!!!!!!!
Stop the personal gain and gutting the rest of the people that keep you where you are SC*M! Take your bucket list agenda somewhere else!

Prices jacked up to su-k all our pay and leave us vulnerable and exploitable.
Fu---d up bullsh-t
This entire process is fu---d up. How can any of the leaders sleep at night? This is people’s lives here. They are all ba----ds.
And yet the deadwood in EMEA sales still remain..
I’m astonished how the some of sales people in EMEA (specifically those incompetent ones in UK&I) are unscathed by the latest round of rifs.
More than likely they are being protected by incompetent geo leads a yet once again our company has lost many many good hardworking talented people through no fault of their own.
Let’s hope the penny finally drops with the leadership (RP and MH) and this is addressed as the next course of action. Get to the root of the problem, hold them accountable and if they can’t provide a degree of confidence and assurance of growth on key accounts then a penalty has to be paid through justified rifs.
If you are thinking about joining MDT, please read first
I have been thinking about writing this post for a while but hoped that by now some things would have changed for the better, but they have not. I have been in the industry for years, my entire career actually which spans over 2 decades. I have worked for small start ups and been with MDT for half of my career now. When I came to MDT we were still at the top in regards to quality and product innovation. Unfortunately around that same time Omar Ishrak came on the scene and it has been nothing but downhill ever since. Omar brought with him the ideas generated by GE and his mentor, Jack Welch. Omar also put all his chips on Hillary winning and Corp taxes stating high in the US, he was dead wrong on both. If you want to look at the future of MDT just look at the last 2 decades of GE.
Omar took all of the profits and plowed them into earnings not into R and D, Medtronic is now faced with the hangover of this gluttonous endeavor. MDT and Geoff Martha have decided that it’s time to be a growth company again. Again, our leaders are wrong…we are far from a growth company and in some divisions we are actually looking at a decade of decline both in surgical reimbursements and in surgical volumes.
MDT has reduced clinical support, outsourced customer service to such places as India and Costa Rica, manufacturing to 3rd world countries, and payroll to a 3rd party. We have more FDA federal corrective actions than the next largest 3 med device companies combined, take a look at the 2 articles that the Minneapolis Star Tribune did towards the end of 2022. The Dominican experiment has officially failed Geoff, you know it, the board knows it, and according to our stock price the street knows it.
If you are thinking that MDT is anything like it was even 6-7 years ago, it is not. If you are a young person who is thinking about getting into Med Device, I would not. This industry in general is falling apart due to horrific leadership among the big 4 and a broken health care system that will ultimately end in Medicare for all.
Geoff Martha is a truly horrible leader. I guess it’s not his fault, it’s seems like he has been told his whole life how good he is at hockey and how handsome he looks in his Christmas sport jackets. Unfortunately we need real men and women of industry to correct the decisions made by a few that have affected the many.
The benefits for those coming in today are no better than what a manager at a local Kroger gets and in some cases worse. Our car reimbursement is laughable, $450/mo plus a pittance per mile is so bad that even Motus will tell you we are in the bottom quartile for what they pay out to other companies field personnel. If you don’t believe me please call Motus yourself, I did and I was shocked when the person laughed when he looked at what we get reimbursed.
Pensions, yeah those ended a while back for any new employees. Last year our 401k match was .66 on the dollar, like I said Kroger managers get more. Healthcare, well, not great either. We have been driven to mediocrity.
Obviously I am looking to leave MDT as soon as possible and hope that all of the talented folks I work with can do the same. We are in very dark times here, and the light that we are seeing is not the light at the end of the tunnel but the light from a train getting ready to run us over.
Oh and Intersect is truly horrible. Thanks Brett Wall you egotistical fu-k for flushing over a billion down for this trash.
Accounting Department
Looks like the Accounting Department can't handle it as per usual.
Accounting department is the worst I've seen
Accounting department is the worst I've seen. Changes should've been made a long time ago.
