Let’s get the facts straight.

If layoffs happen it’s happening nov 20th or earlier.

Lists aren’t made last minute so your fate was sealed 20-30 days ago.

Initial estimates range from 15-30% depending on org but overall beverage to about 20%.

There’s likely a round 2 of layoffs early 2026.

The crisis manager article says there’s nothing to worry about - you know why?! Cause he’s a crisis manager. He’s probably on a list and has no idea lol

Lastly, these corporations you don’t hold any loyalty too. All that family talk is just bs. All those retirement emails thanking you for your service - bullsh-t. Make your money, make your connects, climb the ladder or hop to another. Do not take it personally.

Losing sleep and checking this board every 2 hours is not good for your mental state. Just get your affairs in order.

A lot of VPs, SVPs, and EVPs were given the notice. Just be thankful you weren’t one of those under heavy scrutiny. You have better odds as an underlying.

Good luck all - love you.

Reliable reliable source

Spoke with a supervisor who confirmed today that layoffs are coming and also added that layoffs will be for managers and stores. Also layoffs will will happen before Nov 20. It was indicated some managers will be gone before then. They had meetings today and word is they will know on Friday.

New leaders do not know their own org structures

With the SVP changes today, both in the business & finance…. I can’t help but to ask myself, how are they deciding who is being let go? These shifts imply that the new leaders do not know their org structure…. Who is good/ who isn’t etc.

All we can do now is, not let our nerves get the best of us. Today just proves that layoffs will be 1. financial 2. Strategic and not personal and reflective of your abilities.

I hope everyone can get some rest after today and realize there is nothing that you can do it. Out of our hands so should be out of our minds.

Big news, folks — the mystery meeting is happening this Thursday!

The mystery meeting is happening this Thursday! Nobody knows what it’s about, but the calendar invite came with no agenda and an unusually cheerful emoji from HR, never a good omen. Rumor has it the CEO will kick things off with some lighthearted jokes about the recent security breaches (classic comedy material!) and that tiny 30% drop in share prices last week. Just a “market correction,” right? Could be layoffs, could be free snacks, maybe both! It’s the corporate Hunger Games, but with spreadsheets. Bring your best smile. It might be your last official company photo.

If the rumors turn out to be wrong, all the better

If some layoffs still happen, I just hope it won’t be as massive as everyone’s been expecting. I need this job. We all do. At least until things get better. Then we can decide to hate it, change it, or move on. Right now, it’s a total sh-tshow out there. My family can’t afford even one of us being jobless for more than a month or two. So, fingers crossed we’ve been wrong all along.

Is it always like this?

I joined Verizon two years ago right out of college, and I can’t remember a single stretch of time when layoffs weren’t hanging over everyone’s head. Was it always like this in the past, or is this just how things are now? Is it the same everywhere? Is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my working life?

Status Update Would Be Appreciated

Ok instead of having staff constantly look over their shoulder and wonder if they’ll be a RIF casualty, why not send out periodic emails to keep employees in the loop? Heck we got daily emails when COVID struck. If not they shouldn’t have mentioned 11/20 in the first place…I mean it’s good in the sense it gives us time to update our resume but it also stirs up fear and paranoia for several weeks.

Return to Office

No official communication or org announcement sent out about RTO. This policy needs to be explicitly stated. Managers relaying it down the line by word of mouth is toxic. List the policy out in an official notice to not leave your employees anxious and uncertain, shame on leadership once again.

Intel Stress and Life Outside of Intel

I wonder how many relationships/marriages have ended due to the last few years of chronic stress at Intel. The chronic job insecurity will take its toll.

Job and relationship loss cover 2 of the 3 types of major loss events that throw people off balance in their lives.

There’s no more talk of “Intel Family”.

With all eyes on 18a and 14a, doing employees like this is the worst thing you can literally do for the company success.

I’m almost convinced, by actions, that Intel leadership wants Intel to fail.

ISP Job Search

Curious….has anyone who received an ISP found a job yet? This market is brutal and I feel like I’ve been blacklisted. Since early September I’ve only had one real interview and three “networking” calls. I actually had a recruiter say ‘they (Edward Jones) doesn’t do product development like everyone else’. I’m beginning to freak out with November 14th being next week.

Laid Off

CP laid me off this week. Since then I am feeling shock, anger, sadness, fear, guilt, and shame. Anxiety about the future leading to feelings of worthlessness. It’s like a bad dream and you keep hoping you wake up and it wasnt really, that you weren’t selected. But you were. You are going to feel anger when you find who remained and question how “they” got to stay and you didn’t. It’s going to hurt.

I wish everyone well on Wednesday.

Still not able to relax

I thought I'd feel great this weekend, make up for lost sleep. I was very much wrong. I still feel like cr-p, I still can't relax, and I still have trouble sleeping. I think this whole thing has been hanging over our heads for so long that it'll take us a while to go back to normal.

Is there talk of shutting down the Ravinia office in Atlanta?

I have this feeling I’m not long for my current position anymore if that happens. I work under John Blanchards org and we just had a layoff in August. I think I’m being paranoid but since Srini is taking over soon… I just don’t know. The market is brutal now and I’m job hugging like a motherf----rI’m not ready to leave yet.

Has any C-Level exec ever been to the Atlanta office?
