Probably just a weak associate that is in the wrong job and can’t hack it. Hope they are OK. Back to work everyone! Need my bonus!

I wonder if leadership is having panic attacks knowing they have to meet with the King who will demand they cut costs. January should be an interesting month for the industry. You know the King is going to mention the salaries they are getting.

I'm so glad I quit this company.

My manager did a ton of damage to my mental health.

He refused to train his reports and would lose his temper and resort to screaming personal attacks when things went wrong. He is not just some uptight guy who is a hot head. He is the kind of person who you would tell a loved one to divorce if you found out they were subjected to his cruelty.

The amount of mental damage that man did to me is going to take years to get over. I am in therapy because of how I was treated by him over the years.

I have nightmares about him coming to work for my new company.

I was put on Venlafaxine for Anxiety several years ago. I take a relatively low dose at 37.5 mg. Its just enough low enough that I do not have too many side effects, but enough that my reactions are delayed a bit, if that makes sense. Honestly I should have started taking an anti-anxiety years ago, It makes dealing with high strung coworkers/bosses so much easier. And with the job market as bad as it is right now, its foolish to think that someone can just "magically get another job", or that the new job will be any better.

Am not! Are so! Make me! You and what army?
Sounds like a bunch of 3rd graders. Some folks handle stress well, others not so well. Be a grown up and have some compassion. Too much in the news of folks mentally cracking. Let’s hope it’s not in our office on an RTO day.

@f4 wow do you really work at Anthem such empathy! You obviously are not an adult and don't understand that some people have obligations real financial obligations like elderly parents young children Etc you must live in your parents basement and drive their car LOL go crawl back under the rock you came from. You can't compete when you don't compare. Have a nice life I'm sure you are already having one.

Medication is an option. A better option is treating the root cause. Perhaps we start here by not dismissing what each individual person is experiencing from the misguided and short-sighted decisions made by this company. True leaders fight for the many not the few.

Your coworker is working in the right industry to help them through this issue. They can get a prescription with an affordable copay for V-lium to help them overcome these challenges.

Having a panic attack is a very scary experience. For all of the folks here dismissing it as a weakness, you clearly are in the wrong business. Panic attacks are a symptom of panic disorder, a serious mental health condition. Rather than attacking the folks who are having panic attacks, you should rethink working for a health company. You have no understanding or sympathy for health-related conditions. Please find another line of work.

@eq find another job then. Complaining on this board and staying at the job doesn’t make sense. You need to do something else and stop acting like a victim. You aren’t forced to work in a job causing you anxiety. Staying is your choice

@cr Agree! This is the first work place I have encountered that I had to get a prescription medication to deal with the stressful and toxic work environment. Luckily, the insurance covers the generic 100% which it should since this place is causing the symptoms.
