Return to Office - Unofficial Layoff

They have started the next round of layoffs without having to pay severance. They are cherry picking which employees are allowed to remain remote and those that need to report to either Lake Mary or Pittsburgh. Failure to relocate is considered voluntary termination / resignation by the Work Together policy. It doesn't matter if you were previously approved to work in remote location... The worst is inconsistent enforcement. Many people on team remote - only certain individuals given mandate to relocate. It should be illegal to consider it voluntary termination. If you are going to layoff someone do so.

RSUs

I cannot find the thread this was being discussed on but there is some confusion about whether vesting stops at the notification date or the termination date. So I asked HR directly. At least in the US, we will get any RSUs that vest prior to the termination date (in my case 9/22). If you are in a different location you may want to confirm with HR.

I was in the Fusion Org and would have hit my 25 year anniversary next month. Overall my immediate team lost about a 1/3 of its headcount.

Finally take care of yourselves. Oracle itself had its goods and bads like most things, but I was truly fortunate to work with some amazing people for this long. Remember that EAP benefits are still there (for 3 months) if you need them.

I was part of RIF in 11/2024, notified on 9/2024, was i entitled to bonus that year?

Title, I signed the severance package, but I totally disregarded the fact that I worked towards AR that year, am i entitled to that pro-rated bonus?

Was talking to a current co-worker of where I work now, and he mentioned that Teradata was like this and so was his previous company (although hes going through it with an employee lawyer since they didn't pay him).

TIA.

I'm not even stressing anymore

Let’s be honest, who here wouldn’t be better off working somewhere, anywhere else? The job market is scary right now, but that’s what severance is for. Being unemployed and looking isn’t as scary when you have enough money to get you through several months. Thinking like this has completely shifted my perspective on layoffs.

Recent College Grad Afraid of Layoffs

Hi all. I would appreciate helpful and constructive criticism, not bullying as I have seen in some posts here. We can all remain civil while being in disagreement.

I worry about layoffs and this is my first corporate job. Does Charles Schwab always provide severance when someone is let go? What does that amount look like? Please feel free to provide your professional feedback as I am always looking for ways to grow.

Lumpsum only?

Does Dell do rolled over paychecks or only lumpsum?

I’m trying to know if I can extend my unemployment days for Visa reasons.

No one asked but I’m actually relieved from the WFR, I have been preparing for a few months and now I get to get the big fat Sev package so thats sweet

Here We Go Again ORCL - Thanks But No Thanks - My Hard Work After 30 Years Of Excellent Service Record

Surprise Surprise Surprise today. Early morning call from manager & September 22,2025 made as my last day. YAP! came out of blue. But, no regret. Started as a rookie. Oracle got me on H1, processed my Green Card. Seen all in 30 years of service how this Company behaves & works! & where the dead bodies buried. Oh! if you are wondering what gigs I did. Started as onsite ACS Engineer when the org was just starting, moved to DB Sustaining, back to Exadata DEV / BDE / support. Last 8 years in Oracle Sustaining & DEV. Best part of the journey at Oracle - I worked from home. Time to polish my resume & take this 100 years+ experience to another great company soon!

Good Luck

No matter what happens tomorrow (September 3rd), please know that your value is not defined by your job. Be kind to yourself if you are given a severance package, and still be kind to yourself if you remain at FIS.

Rarely does anyone choose to be laid off. We work with so many talented individuals at FIS, who do the right thing for our clients and their customers every day. Good luck!

September 15th

Next surplus announcement date per contract for CWA/Leg T workers is September 15th. Of course many of us are hoping to be declared surplus to get the termination package up to 104 weeks pay for those of us with over 31 years service. We all know our job tasks are being automated and/or offshored thus we'll eventually be laid off - and we're simply hanging out happily waiting for the awesome 2 year paid vacation, hoping not to lose this in our next labor contract next year.

Layoff Process

I've heard that the layoff process canbe brutal. Can anyone shed some light on what ctyally happens on layoff day? (Looking for answers, not drama from some troll.) How long do you have to sign the separation papers? Is it before you leave the room or do you have some time before you HAVE to sign?

Running on empty

Half our group is gone and the work never slowed down. We’re all scrambling to keep up, but there’s only so much we can cover. It's like IBM is intentionally trying to wear us down. I guess if we quit they don't have to pay us severance during the next RA, so it kind of makes sense.

Redesign of the system

Finally had a chance to read through the severance plans and it is hilarious they are making you fill out an application to decide if they want to fire you. LOL!! It dawned on me after reading the AT&T email someone posted on here, they are attempting to redesign the system to keep us all trapped. Working from home and COVID gave everyone time to stop, look around and evaluate their lives and the system being forced down our throats. The Elites and Executives that rely on the fruits of our labor to distance themselves from the common man and create generational wealth are panicking. Employees were taking back control of their lives, moving away from the rat race and expensive cities. Getting side gigs and backup plans to give them options to exit corporate America and shifting the balance of power back to the employee. They can't let that happen. MT took his $150 million in compensation and got the he-l out, has his re--rd-ed son in the company and appointed his buddy JF and two SF agents to continue the scam and cover his tracks. Sc--w these people, only do enough to not get fired, and find a way out. Don't participate in their scam, resist, resist resist....these are evil people without a soul.

Why the new severance plans, it's a much bigger issue! Wake up lemmings.....

Most people are clueless of the world around them but please prepare. Here is why they are coming out with the severance plan(s) changes. SF is f-cked and so is our society. Verify and do your own research, you don't have to believe me... but this is what politics and corporations like SF have done to you! Greed, corruption and immorality, as history always repeats itself. Wake up and become truly WOKE! It's all going to come crashing down sooner than later!
AI will eliminate thousands of job
Automation is here! Ask underwriting
Too many non-customer facing jobs at SF - going away! Horrible new hires/workforce!
70-75% of people can't afford a home - we sell homeowners insurance ????
65-70% of people can't afford to buy a new car - we sell car insurance ????
2032-That is 6 years - Social Security goes insolvent and will only be able to pay 74% of benefits. What do you think people will do?
50% of people have no retirement savings.
60% of American can't cover a $1000 expense - everyone is broke!
Personal Credit Card debt just hit an all time high of $1.21 trillion.
$1.6 trillion dollars of student loan debt.
Average new car payment is $735! Record repossessions!
45% of Women Will Be Single by 2030 and will never have kids. (no more life insurance sells) Why do you think the US and Europe is flooding its countries with the third world, as Nancy P. said who is going to pick our crops or build stuff? I don't see white and black kids out there, do you?
Populatons - China - 1.46 billion and India 1.4 billion, USA - 356 million! Who do you think wins the economic wars with that much disposable labor!
60% of men are not dating and do not want to date.
$38 Trillion dollars in debt and we are spending $1 trillion a year to pay the interest on the loan. Still running trillions of dollars deficits.
By 2032 it will be $50 trillion and will cost taxpayers/you $2 trillion in interest. That means your taxes will have to double and inflation will get worse as we print more money! We have 801 billionaires in the USA worth $6.5 trillion. If we seized all their wealth/assets it would run the government for about 9 months! They would be broke...one time deal. It would also mean no more Amazon, Tesla, Meta, Microsoft etc...because most of their worth (Musk, Gates, Zuckerberg, Bezos) is stock ownership, not actually money in the bank. Sounds good but is not reality......
Not even going to even get into all re--rded culture issues .....
This does not end well, SF knows it but most of you do not! Educate yourself. At the end of the day, most of you will be standing in a bread line, begging for water and will ask yourself how this happened overnight...ignorance is bliss. Probably can't do anything about it as it is going to happen anyways. What comes next when it all goes down.... well, let's just say, it will be beyond anyone's comprehension and will make WWII and/or the Great Depression look like a vacation! Su-ks but true! Again you can research anything written here..take a few minutes....don't be that mindless lemming walking off the cliff like the rest of the retar-s! Severance packages are the least of your worries! Your welcome.....

SF and Corporate America is hilarious

So was reading the new Severance and Enhanced Severance plan and it say for those effected by this, they will have to submit an "application" to be approved by leadership. Laughed my arsss off. Think about that, they want you to submit an application to get approved by them to fire you! Holy sh-t! hilarious. Just like that stupid Total Rewards Survey we did last month as obviously they are getting ready to bring people back into the office and cut benefits/pay. Again it will all be based on your feedback and will be your decision....when they bend you over. Corporate America is absolutely retar-ed and these people are just absolute trash. F-ck them and all their useless lies and schemes. Can't make this sh-t up!

Is this true?

From an article in Medium:
“ Changing Severance Packages

Employee forums have been buzzing about AT&T’s plans to revamp severance packages for management employees in Q1 2025. The proposed shift from a standard six-month severance to a role-based tiered system could significantly impact lower-level managers’ benefits.
New tiered system:
Level 1 managers: One month salary
Additional month per management level
Standard benefits include PTO payout and career transition support”

We are well beyond 1q 2025. Maybe he is thinking 1Q 2026?

Go ahead and sign

Go ahead and sign so they know who the disgruntled people are and can put the sc--ws on you harder. The goal has not changed and the goal is still to get rid of as many people as possible without having to pay ANY severance. Even if you sign you can be terminated before a layoff is approved. If you have been keeping up on the layoffs/mass firing of federal government workers then you are up to date on what's about to go down.

Stop all the expensive advertising

If you want to get rid of people hiking calling it voluntary severance - look at cutting unnecessary expenses. Starting with the high profile celebrity advertising and then the high end large six figure executive salaries. Both those classes of folks have enough money and that needs to be dropped off the books - immediately
