Problem with my manager

It's either personal, or they're trying to push me to quit. Either way, it's become unbearable. I've only been here a year and a half, and I don't really understand the dynamics yet. I'd like to move to another team. Who should I talk to? Just to explore my options, if there are any.

Harassment

Has anyone experienced harassment or different treatment for being g-y, or for being assumed to be g-y?

I’m not out at work, and I’m not completely sure what is going on, but several strange and concerning things have happened that make me feel like I may be getting pushed out. My performance has been consistently strong, but people have suggested I'm on the verge of being let go.

At this point, I do not feel comfortable trusting my management chain, and I think HR might have been involved as well. I’m trying to understand the safest way to protect myself and get help without making the situation worse.

For anyone who has dealt with something similar, did you document quietly and then get pushed out quietly, use an ethics/speak-up channel, or find a trusted senior leader outside your chain of command? Lawyers have told me to stay quiet until something happens on a more concrete level, but I love what I do and don't want to be quietly pushed out only to have to be given the choice between a package and legal action.

Toxic Work Environment

To every employee that endured the toxic work culture at Schwab, circular, unproductive meetings, meaningless tasks, redlined deliverables, Director micromanagement, bullying, and overall low morale, where others take credit for your work and perpetrators inconsistently meet the actual workers expectations I encourage you to walk away, stay clear of this organization and file complaints with the EEOC! Did you know Schwab has ppt. Slides tracking claims against the organization and Hostile Work Environment tops their list.

Have you experienced pressure to quit?

I have real trouble with a new manager. I've been either left out of the work that fits my skillset, or outright subjected to passive-aggressive treatment. I thought it was some personal animosity at first, now I have the impression it's a campaign to make me leave. If that's the case, why not just lay me off? It's not as if my salary makes me worth all the special attention. Have any of you had a similar experience?

Team Lead threatened me with physical violence

A fond memory from corporate Aramco. A few years back, right after COVID, we were overworked and understaffed and had unrealistic goals assigned to our team. When trying to discuss this situation with my Team Lead and finding a proactive solution, he lost his cool and threatened me by saying "we can take this outside if you want?" I was shocked and didn't respond. Just another day in the sand pit.

s-xual harassment

I’m reaching a breaking point with my manager’s behavior. He continues to make inappropriate touching, comments and requests, despite knowing that I’m married(he is divorced). His conduct is unprofessional and unwanted, and it has created a very uncomfortable work environment. I’ve considered reporting it to HR, but I’m concerned about potential retaliation or my work situation becoming even more difficult. Has anyone at EM dealt with a similar situation, and how did you navigate it?

Performance Management 2026

Anyone else feel like this is taking an illegal turn of directions? Constructive discharge and hostile work environments? Instead of just laying people off the normal way, we’ve turned into this…. I hope that everyone affected will utilize their benefits and protect their mental and physical health. Crazy what is going on after the last few years. I guess this is our reward for being loyal to the company.

Team members instructed not to talk to layoff peeps?

I was included in the layoffs and a team member just informed me that our boss instructed the team to have very minimal if any communication with me at all through the 19th and after as well. Anyone else seeing this? Not sure what the reasoning would be behind it we normally just have friendly conversations. 😔

Contractor Misconduct and Labor Law Violations

We currently have a contingent contractor from "1nF0$y$" working in our department. His role appears limited to issuing written instructions to permanent staff, and he does not contribute to any other operational tasks. His primary engagement seems to be attending private meetings with the Senior Director.

The Senior Director originally from India and now a U.S. resident through an H-1B visa followed by marriage to a fellow Senior Manager in the same department is reportedly receiving commissions for onboarding contractors from "1nF0$y$". Multiple sources have raised concerns about this arrangement.

Contractors brought in under this setup often exhibit inappropriate behavior, acting with undue authority and attempting to influence permanent staff. When questioned or held accountable, they respond with hostility and escalate complaints to the Senior Director. In turn, the Senior Director convenes meetings targeting the permanent staff and delivers reprimands, creating a hostile and retaliatory work environment.

These practices raise serious concerns regarding compliance with U.S. labor laws and ethical standards. Immediate intervention is warranted from Human Resources, College Relations, Ethics, and Legal departments to investigate and address these potential violations.
