ES Moving to Glendale, EA/MEGA/AG to Nebraska

There is no new building in ES.

There is no amusement park in Glendale.

There is no water park in Nebraska.

ES is moving to Glendale and EA/MEGA/AG are moving/consolidating to Nebraska as a major cost cutting measure.

Ask Ynon about it at the Town Hall and watch him squirm, if the question doesn't get screened.

Suburban Building

NM did you see Rockwell is building their new location in New Berlin? Not Downtown and not close to the city. Why? Downtown is dead and only a fool would continue to build there. Add Rockwell to the long list that keeps moving out of the city as NM wants to move in.

Building Temperature at 1014 Vine

Given the extremely low temperatures outside, we are aware that the Store Support Center is cooler than normal, and temperatures are fluctuating across the building.

As you know, we have been working with NSG and Corporate Real Estate to update and improve our building's heating and cooling systems; however, these repairs are still underway and will take time to complete.

As you prepare for today, we recommend the following to help maintain your personal comfort:

Dress in layers to adapt to fluctuating temperatures.

If your workspace is located on the south side of the building, keeping window blinds closed can greatly assist in temperature control.

Cover vents along the windows.

Leverage Archibus to reserve workspace on the 13th floor, if needed.

Avoid using space heaters as this can lead to tripped breakers and power outages.

We are aware that the impact is being felt more significantly on some floors. Talk to your leader about exercising flexibility, if needed, based on your floor's conditions.

Thank vou for vour understanding and cooperation

TFB Destruction

Follow up from my post yesterday. Today my team was destroyed, as were many.

Years of building, growth, and success right down the drain. Top performing reps sent to unemployment right before Christmas. Meanwhile, mo--ns and failures keep their jobs. It's not about layoffs, it's about making horrible decisions and then executing poorly on those decisions.

This company has become an utter disappointment. We immediately bankrupted our culture, integrity, and brand as soon as we win the war. T-Mobile is showing their true colors, and it's as disgusting as it is disappointing.

Building engineers

If any higher ups that are still employed and have access to Dan, just a thought. I was curious, I heard 50% of building engineers were let go in new England. 1 person to cover a entire state. I hope you realize we are heading into winter. A lot of the sites are remote. Expectations are they can get to a site within two hours. Please try and understand the logistics of this and thier jobs and everything that is involved in the regular maintenance, the preventive maintenance and say nothing about the emergencies. Getting there how far is the nearest help? What happens when a site goes down? What happens if multiple sites are on generator and they are required to be on-site? Also if they store fuel in large amounts ad most do there had to me a person certified in proper fuel and tank issues on site! They are also required to be on call 24/7 and within 2 hours from site. Please explain how that is going to work? Also what happens when someone needs PTO? is sick? Death in the family? Just curious what is the average cost for a sire going black? This is not sustainable! It will end badly, trust me! If you think you are going to hire outside contractor you definitely should not be in the position you are in.They bring nothing to the table and good luck finding anyone that is reliable. This also will end badly. Keep the union ,make it stronger. I have never seen a more dedicated group then I have seen in the Verizon union building engineers. They are fully dedicated and loyal to a fault and will do anything that is asked of them. You have tried Cushman and Wakefied has been a disaster to say the least! Building engineers are responsible for multiple properties and are responsible for facilities worth millions of dollars and keep them functional and keeping the customers and thier equipment running and thier services up.You really need to rethink this! Warned in advance.

Any BA reports / rumours?

I keep seeing post about RIF's / layoffs / etc, but wondering if those have more to do with local field maintenance technicians and not Building Automation staff.

I haven't heard of anyone in the few hundred people I deal with on a monthly basis getting let go. I'm not based out of any major hub.

Going into to an office to work with people not in the same office is d-mb

You all do realize most work from home people actually would go to an office if Verizon brought back our offices. I would but Verizon go rid of our building along with 20-30 other buildings over the last 10 years. My team is all over the country and no one lives in the same area... so going into a building to work virtually would be d-mb. Also, what is Verizon going to do fire all 12 people and keep 1 thats in a hub then backfill the 11 others or the 8 that are WFH? Its not as easy as you all think, getting rid of WFH or everything into a building would destroy workloads and knowledgeable assets already in place. Going into to an office to work with people not in the same office is d-mb, I thought all the climate change VZ activists would be protesting for protecting against my trucks carbon emissions going to an office anyways.

Want to work in a refinery every day?

Key point missing is where this building at Strathcona will be given there’s really no excess office space.

You will likely be in a blastproof building (like the current office building) and subjecting yourself to questionable air quality for the remainder of your working life.

Also refinery work cultures are a beast of their own, many in bad ways.

This the life you really want… in Edmonton?
