To nobody's shock, the actual reason behind RTO is due to inflate real estate value.
Confirmed increase in investment in local hire, goal is to eliminate remote hires entirely.
Current remote employees will be eliminated over time, first on the chopping block.
Expect a surge of investment into office spaces.

Back To Work

Just had a conversation with my Director and they stated that Enbridge in Ontario will be going back to full 5 days per week in the second quarter. Stated this is to be in line with the Province of Ontario mandated all government workers back to a full 5 days.

I do believe what I was told but guess will wait and see.

Stop the BS

L3s and the rest of the C level just need to stop with the BS. Just say you are coming in the office, that's it, if you want to get a paycheck get your A$$ in the office. This fake caring how we feel or how we work is more annoying than anything. We already know Hadji is in the office for like 3 hours then he heads home. Who really wants to work with there team in neighbor hoods ugh.

ha can we point out the ghetto neighbor hoods?

Just say it, I'm tired of all the playacting BS C level is doing, grow a pair of ba--s and get your @$$ in the office as well.


RTO report now showing hours

So one of my close friends is a manager and he showed me what he sees: how many days per week in the office and total hours per day in the office (badge in/out or network connection, he is not sure know how the hours are actually being tracked). Well the report is very real saw it with my own eyes.


Boca News Update

Mutual of America Life Insurance Co. has sold its Boca Raton office campus for a combined $23.75 million, paving the way for a major redevelopment.

The 11.7-acre property at 1150 NW Broken Sound Parkway was purchased in two transactions—$16.875 million by Broken Sound Boca LLC and $6.875 million by MBAL Commercial Owner LLC. The buyers are a partnership that includes Ram Real Estate, Butters Construction & Development, and Altman, part of BBX Capital Corp.

Under the redevelopment plan, Ram Realty will oversee the multifamily component, while Butters will take the lead on the industrial portion. The campus currently features a 76,761-square-foot office building occupied by Mutual of America, which has until July 2026 to relocate before the structure is demolished.

Approvals are already in place for a 287-unit apartment community with a seven-story parking garage offering 481 spaces. The residential plan includes 29 affordable units and 15 workforce units. The industrial section is slated for 63,624 square feet of small-bay warehouse and office space across two two-story buildings, along with 136 parking spaces (1)

The sales proceeds will help cover severance packages for the upcoming layoffs and restructuring, and help the company turn its first profit in 8 yrs.

Accelerated Timeline for the Move?

Any insight into if the building challenges could lead to an accelerated move to Edmonton? Ex. Can’t build a building on-site and therefore Imperial decides to simply lease/buy an existing vacant building downtown Edmonton? I have no legit intel suggesting if this is a valid concern of not.


Quick Update On The Soap in BH

Hi all just wanted to give a quick update on the hand soap in BH. It appears that “they” have halted all water-down operations.

The soap is back to normal.

Perhaps the compliant raised on this site prior made a difference. Just goes to show you want voicing your opinion on an anonymous forum can achieve.

I’m gonna miss how they built an office with features we can’t afford because wages didn’t come close to keeping up with inflation and any merit raise covered the cost of health insurance increases.

Flex seating

It’s awesome that the company spent all this money on renovating the buildings and creating the open floor plan seating just to find out the day of your meeting. You can’t use the office that you booked weeks ago because it has now become somebody’s personal office.

What is the actual point of all of this if they’re just going to change all of the Zirbel offices to individual offices? They should’ve just kept all the conference rooms and let these mo--n stay hidden in their office. This has been such a headache, such a pain, and honestly has created the lowest morale that I’ve seen in a company in my 35 years of working in the corporate environment.

It’s so unreasonable and so disrespectful to treat associates this way when we need a space for an urgent call, we do what we’re supposed to do in reserve it weeks ahead just to have it snatched from us.
