I see loads of job openings online (linkedIn, Baker careers etc.) but notice that many have been open for months on end and keep being reposted or duplicated? Whats the deal? Theres no way we have that many actual vacancies from what I can tell. Why keep advertising these same jobs over and over but not filling them?
Texas is investigating LinkedIn for allegedly advertising and profiting from fake job listings, referred to as "ghost jobs." Job seekers who paid for premium subscriptions may have been shown listings that were not legitimate opportunities. The state's attorney general is seeking documents and communications related to LinkedIn's advertising and verification practices. LinkedIn maintains that its job listings are authentic and accurately represented. This investigation has not yet resulted in formal charges.

I'm not in retail, but I see the job postings and every day there's 10+ postings with retail in the title. What is all the retail hiring if people are talking about massive retail layoff and store closures?
I see so many job positions open for only 2 days or less than a week. Are those genuine openings. I was told by a friend in HR that those positions are there just for formality. Managers have already made up their mind as to who to promote but they have to post the job for HR purposes. Any insights?
Has anyone else noticed that they are posting certain jobs as external only? Not allowing internal candidates to apply? I’ve also noticed that some of these external only jobs are remote, whereas all the jobs posted internally are hybrid at best. Anyone know what’s going on? What does this mean for career progression?
How is there a hiring freeze with new positions posted at a lower pay range? They are literally playing in our faces and it’s disappointing to witness.
Have a lot of people been applying for jobs or just waiting to see what happens first?
I had applied but then withdrew my application since the pay was lower than I anticipated, however after second though I'd like to be considered again but the opening has closed. Am I SOL?
We keep laying people off, and yet we keep posting openings at the same time. What's the point?
What’s really gross is the posts on Linkdin - #15 in the Fortune 500, such a great place to work… etc etc- and then there are the job postings that show as less than 24 hours old. So much for a hiring freeze I guess.
Before, if you worked hard here, asked the right questions, and applied when a better role opened up, you had a real shot. Lately, that hasn't been the case. It's like all the internal postings are advertised just for the sake of appearances, while the roles are already reserved for pre-selected candidates. Tell me I'm wrong.
I see a ton of new positions being posted.
Is this for real?
They keep telling me we are not hiring.
Salesforce conducted a new round of employee layoffs. The cuts impacted teams for Agentforce AI, Mulesoft, and Marketing Cloud. A California regulatory notice confirmed 86 job eliminations. These latest reductions follow previous layoffs in January. Salesforce's stock has declined significantly this year amid AI concerns.

Ok, now the VRP details are out. What’s next, another reorg, job posting freezes and more unwarranted promotions to backfill the tenured folks leaving. Oh wait, don’t forget the travel freeze! Buckle up!
Can anyone say why belk posts jobs online with no intention of hiring anyone?
In a response to a question during the investor call concerning the large number of job listings in the face of RIF's, the CFO says that the current efforts concerning identifying "synergies" should be done as soon as possible by the end of FY26. The remainder should be complete in FY27.
The sole purpose of D&S is to ensure that Hipos rather than the most qualified candidate is selected for the best roles. Ranking follows role meaning that your ranking is highly dependent on your role being visible and valued by management. The cycle perpetuates.
Fu--ing disrespectful to see postings/ openings based in Bangalore today on LinkedIn.
We are looking for lots and lots of people to help with the return to growth
We are hiring and have returned to growth
I'm seeing new jobs being posted in the design departments but I was told that hiring was on freeze or just being prioritized. The new roles I'm seeing are similar to ones that have been frozen and still posted.
Multiple positions currently open at Paramount are listed as fully remote. What's the deal? Are these teams that have always been remote/have been grand-fathered in to stay this way?
I am on job reassignment as I got burnt out taking calls all day. I am looking for internal positions but noticed they removed many jobs. How long will this job freeze last?
I've been applying for two months and I've gotten three calls back. Is anyone actually hiring right now or is everyone just posting fake jobs?
Two of our branch colleagues were ki-led today, so place your bets. How long until the company's "deep mourning" ends and their jobs are listed in the career hub?
Anyone else notice the internal job posting site is down on the day of layoffs?
The PGA Tour recently posted new job openings. This occurred just days after 56 roles were eliminated. New positions include a head of business development and a director of international media. Executive Laura Neal also moved to a new role as EVP/Strategic Philanthropy. Tournament director Todd Fleming was among the recent layoffs.

I heard from a friend about a role in GT that’s currently open. They sent my resume and cover letter to the hiring manager on Friday. He tells them today that the position can only be filled from within GT. I sit in another LOB. Can anyone explain why this is happening?
I keep getting job cancellation emails from this place for most/all positions I applied for! What's going on in the Atlanta office? Has anyone new joined this year?
I was hearing that there was a hire freeze with no timetable of when things will open back up. The agency that hired told me that full time positions are hold but I'm seeing jobs still being posted on Linkedin.
Looking at the job postings, there are a lot of Underwriting posts for HIH. Here we go!!
anyone has any knowledge about this!
Any suggestions for best job sites to apply for new job? Friends say LinkedIn - but never had luck there. What sites do you use / recommend? Been out of work 6 months & $ is tight.
Next round coming in April? Why the job postings in the states?
Curious does anyone have any context why there is a delay on any job offers from the recent jobs posting? Many have slowed down after final interviews.
Applied for some positions and heard there is a hiring freeze?
