“The President’s vision here is to bring in overseas workers who have the skills for three, five, or seven years to train US workers. Then they can go home, and U.S. workers will fully take over,” Bessent said.
Poetic justice for all the Americans forced to train their Indian replacements before being sent to the unemployment line.

November Layoffs
For the person that said Layoffs are coming Nov 17 & 18, I can confirm that this is real. I was accidentally copied on an email that I shouldn’t have been. I don’t know how they can layoff anymore people from that team because they already have a skeleton crew and if we’re supposedly in the cloud, wouldn’t you need engineers to make sure the customers products continue to work. It’s just in time before the All-Company Meeting. I’m sure SM will put on his sad face and pretend the layoffs break his heart. His song and dance is getting old. I pray for the best for those affected by the layoffs. May you find stable, healthy employment quickly.
FYI; Upcoming layoffs planned for November and January
Mid-November layoff is already on going at the moment. They are planning to have about 13-16 technician per manager.
This is a step closer to replacing all the blue badge techs with green badges.
lake Mary office
Rumored 750 cuts.
Neuro RIF
Confirmed, Irvine just laid off 30+ workers in 1st and 2nd shift. Will be seeing more in the coming months when volumes get reduce. Management did not annouce ahead. Too bad for the people. Ofc management did not care.
New Layoff rounds started in EMEA
Couple of individuals were made redundant in the Czech Republic - most probably new rounds will start next week. Somebody was saying that there is an aim to reduce up to 10% of the workforce till the end of the year
Big hire by Karthik!
I've been gone from Nielsen and the industry quite a few years but I still keep tabs. This is a pretty big (expensive) hire by Nielsen. Peter's job will be to take any heat from the industry that comes Karthik's way. Looks like they hired him to basically be a glorified PR guy with the client base. He has a long history and successful track record in ad sales. Whenever Nielsen has hired these big industry g-ns in the past, they fizzle out really quick and take off into the sunset with a big bag of money.

Geico Insurance planned to layoff 20% in Jan.
Geico is reportedly planning to lay off around 20% of its workforce in January. According to employees, the company intends to label the affected group as “low performers,” with approximately 20% of employees in each department expected to be classified this way.
Layoffs?
When are they happening, best guesses?
Billions in Free Cash Flow but Still Doing Layoffs
The impending layoffs are about the same thing as it's always been about. Prioritizing PROFITS over people! This company is by no means struggling. Free cash flow for the nine months ended September 30, 2025 was $15.8 BILLION, an increase from $14.5 BILLION during the same period in 2024. This company is still making BILLIONS in profit. Where did the increase in revenue come from? Through price hikes and rising fees; and they wonder why churn is high?
There's a WSJ article where Dan is saying 'We'll hit AGI (human level intelligence) in the next 2-4 years'. He's a big proponent of pushing AI. Why?
Bc he is an investor in the AI field primarily as a Managing Partner at Valor Capital Group, which invests in various technology companies. Wall St and Silicon valley are obsessed with AI and they pushing it down our throats even though regular consumers are not asking for it. The demand for AI comes from the top down, not bottoms up.
Where is the HUMANITY in AI? What will happen to the PEOPLE after our jobs are replaced by AI? Seems like the Board has let the fox in to guard the hen house.
Just Announced: 12000 more layoffs after re:Invent
Great timing for the HOLIDAYS!

Verizon connect
I’m at Verizon Connect. Does anyone know if Connect is part of the 11/20 layoffs?
Why Germany and France had no layoffs ?
I find it discriminatory that Germany and France had no layoffs in 2025 while all other locations had to layoff people.
SAP didn't provide any explanation...
It's not against our German and French colleagues but I think we deserve an explanation from SAP on the reason behind this decision.
Layoffs today at WD IT
There were around 100 ppl let go from IT today.
Forced Stack Ranking Question
Its an open secret now that there is a quota for performance ratings this year, similar to last. no 5s are allowed at all and there is a minimum number of 2s per team that must be allocated or senior leadership will draw names from a hat.
My question - Do any people leaders know if offshore team member's 2s count towards this quota? Our team is 18 offshore and 4 onshore. Would we be forced to lose another onshore person?
We used to have 9 onshore team members before this madness. any more onshore layoffs would mean we are on call and doing releases at night once every 3 weeks, which is insane. :( All the offshore folks are also at a university student level skill-wise, despite senior level titles, so they dont help with anything.
Alaska / Hawaii...
A reliable source is telling me that all corporate stores in Alaska / Hawaii are going to be either closed or sold off to an indirect. I think it's fewer than 15 stores in both areas.
SBG and Collab will be hit
SBG and Collab will be hit a bit based on rumours
Project Cremini
https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-whole-foods-absorb-workforce-project-cremini-2025-11
No longer whole foods employees. Amazon employees. I wonder what positions are getting cut next year
IT Is Complete
Please be mindful of colleagues in other groups who have not been notified yet.
Severance Payment
Any one received thier severance payment from the recent RIFs?
Another round today?
I heard from my colleagues that there was another round this morning. Anybody else heard about this?
Too Old To Rock and Roll. Too Young To Die
Laid off in Canada at 56. This blows.
Going through LinkedIn, it looks like there were a lot of us “of a certain age” that were let go.
We should lay off everyone that starts a Teams chat with “im?”
I think that’s a simple litmus test for deciding who is expendable. If you don’t know how to start a simple chat how are you going to engineer cutting edge technology?
stock almost 250 and layoffs
profit and layoffs. nice company
Horrible world
I never seen a group of people wanting people to lose there jobs!! This is what’s wrong with the world! Bunch of of d-mb as--s
Who's next?
Which top level public executives are likely to be pushed into retirement soon, rather than rank and file employees?
Layoffs criteria
Layoffs seem to be pretty random. Are they following any general criteria about who'll be laid off and who'll be spared?
Sending empathy to all those affected this week
I have been in similar shoes and I just want to send my words of encouragement out to everyone experiencing the potential grief this week. I call it grief because that’s what it is—a loss of a life, job, career, leaders, coworkers you once held dear.
Take at least a day or two to just process. Try not to be solutions oriented immediately. I already see some friends posting on LinkedIn. I know the desperation is seeping in, but please, take time to just grieve and process this first.
Then pick yourself up and reach out to friends who have left COP previously and talk to them about what they did to leave. There is a life after. You will be okay. Sending you strength.
60% about to be moved to India
Know someone in upper management. They say the Sofi will be moving 60% of jobs to India over the next year. Plans are already under way.
It’s either 29k layoffs or 29k employees (HC)
They ran reports showing a 29k headcount.
IYKYK
I want to believe that Verizon has more than 29k employees.
Let’s get the facts straight.
If layoffs happen it’s happening nov 20th or earlier.
Lists aren’t made last minute so your fate was sealed 20-30 days ago.
Initial estimates range from 15-30% depending on org but overall beverage to about 20%.
There’s likely a round 2 of layoffs early 2026.
The crisis manager article says there’s nothing to worry about - you know why?! Cause he’s a crisis manager. He’s probably on a list and has no idea lol
Lastly, these corporations you don’t hold any loyalty too. All that family talk is just bs. All those retirement emails thanking you for your service - bullsh-t. Make your money, make your connects, climb the ladder or hop to another. Do not take it personally.
Losing sleep and checking this board every 2 hours is not good for your mental state. Just get your affairs in order.
A lot of VPs, SVPs, and EVPs were given the notice. Just be thankful you weren’t one of those under heavy scrutiny. You have better odds as an underlying.
Good luck all - love you.
No Layoffs, This Site is a Lie
All of the anxious people posting lies here need to STOP
The UNIFI development team was made redundant on Monday
Decades of experience tossed aside. They could have been redeployed but Waters has decided that when a product is no longer wanted by the business then neither are the people involved.
Limited support will transfer to Brasov who will only be making sure UNIFI can continue to function in waters_connect, even though the backbone of waters_connect is UNIFI.
No WARN Notice - Confused.
Verizon has not officially filed a public WARN notice for mass layoffs in 2025, although there are reports that the company is preparing for restructuring, staff cuts, and retail store closures. Verizon is also cutting about 2,500 jobs as part of a plan to reduce its workforce by 5% over 12 to 18 months, notes Workforce Bulletin. In September 2025, Ohio enacted its own "mini-WARN" Act, which supplements federal WARN requirements for mass layoff events.
Company news and reports
Reported layoffs: Verizon is reportedly preparing for significant staff cuts and retail store closures as part of a broader restructuring initiative, according to The Economic Times.
Workforce reduction plan: In March 2025, the company revealed plans to lay off about 2,500 employees, or 5% of its workforce, over the next 12 to 18 months, reports Fierce Network.
What is a WARN notice?
A WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice is a US federal law that requires employers to provide workers with at least 60 days' advance notice of plant closings or mass layoffs, explains the U.S. Department of Labor.
The notice provides employees with time to prepare for job loss and seek alternative employment, says Cincinnati Enquirer.
State-level WARN acts
Ohio: On September 29, 2025, Ohio joined 13 other states by enacting a "mini-WARN" Act, which supplements federal WARN notice requirements for employers in the state, notes Workforce Bulletin.
California: In October 2025, California expanded its Cal-WARN Act with the signing of Senate Bill 617, expanding the state's requirements starting in January 2026, reports California Employment Law Report.
Honest question. How does Verizon circumvent both Federal and State Law to RIF? How are they allowed not to be required to submit notice to WARN Act States?
