Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

I hope they take Meta to the cleaners

Layoffs at Meta last year allegedly targeted older workers at higher rates, according to a new lawsuit. Former Meta Senior Director of Monetization Analytics, Nicolas Franchet, who worked at the company for 13 years, claims he was unfairly laid off because of his age.

I heard from Mark that "young people are just smarter."

Good luck proving it. Age discrimination is rampant and needs to be stopped but unless they have some documentation that specifically states targeting older employees they have nothing. I bet the people let go were also the highest paid at whatever they did. The argument will be it was for cost savings. The longer you have been at a company the more raises and promotions you accrue. Older employers usually get paid more.
