Got laid off today from Ansys
Ansys was a great company to work for. I didn't get that same impression from Synopsys, but I guess that comes with working for a much larger company.
It was a good 5 years.
Laid off
Just got laid off this morning out of the midland office. I felt so bad for the hr rep who called it was hard for her to tell me. But all is well holding my head up and ready for the next challenge. Got to comfortable at cop and was looking for something new anyway. Good luck to everyone else. Remember there is always something better for you.
Just got my notice….
Last day 12/31… anyone feel like this is pointing to something larger?
Colocation and consolidation
So much for being star performer.
I'm in SMT, got rated as exceptional performer.
And this morning, I was told my position is strategically moved to NC where there are all the developers, including my manager.
I have 2 months to find a new role or accept severance
Layoff 20 Nov
Managers are currently in meetings after being asked to rank their employees. Not a rumor.
Understanding Your Rights Under the WARN Act
If your employer fails to report layoffs to the WARN system, you may have grounds to take legal action. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires employers to provide 60 days' notice before mass layoffs or plant closures. If they do not comply, affected employees can seek compensation.
Steps to Take
- Confirm Eligibility
- Ensure your employer has at least 100 full-time employees.
- Verify that the layoffs affect 50 or more employees at a single site within 30 days.
- Gather Evidence
- Document the details of the layoffs, including dates, number of employees affected, and any communications from your employer.
- Consult an Attorney
- Seek legal advice from an attorney experienced in employment law. They can help you understand your rights and the potential for a class action lawsuit.
- File a Class Action Lawsuit
- If multiple employees are affected, you can join together to file a class action lawsuit. This can help share legal costs and strengthen your case.
Potential Compensation
If successful, you may be entitled to:
- Up to 60 days of back pay and benefits.
- Additional damages if the employer's actions were willful.
Reporting Violations
You can also report WARN Act violations to the U.S. Department of Labor. They may investigate and enforce compliance, which can support your case.
Taking these steps can help you navigate the legal process if your employer fails to report layoffs as required by the WARN Act.

Anyone know how to find out how many people total (not names) were Surplus in the November 6th Layoff. Warn was not triggered but I know alot of NJ people like myself who were let go, trying to see whether total was over 50, have not signed my GR&W yet trying to see what is up with this first
Protected classes
What happens to protected classes during a RIF? Are any special considerations given?
Retirement calculation?
Hello
Can someone please post the current retirement calculation?
I was laid-off, now past severance with no access to current docs. I am getting paperwork from WF calling me a retiree and including sign-up docs and sites for retiree benefits. Yes, I know, there are really no retirement 'benefits'. Just curious why this is happening.
Thanks
US layoffs
Just notified today not really surprised. Over 55 in the US
CSG layoff this week (EMEA)
EMEA CSG layoff started this week. Already heard from 3 different coworkers. They're also saying VSP is beginning in countries where people can't be easily laid off.
Any other region impacted?
How do you know when you are next?
I know there probably isn't a way to know if a RIF is coming for you but thought I would ask if anyone in hindsight saw some clues or saw the writing on the wall ahead of time? I am pretty overworked with responsibilities but have for the last several years reported to different people who do not (and have not made any effort) to learn even at a high leve what I do or take any interest in my work. I assume me being generally overlooked means I will eventually be next but then again maybe not because my supervisory team will not want to pick up my work when I am gone since they are so unfamiliar? I am ready for whatever comes. A little worried that someday Elevance my get rid of sub pay -because why not it is a cost to them- and that worries me.
RSUs not part of severance
I’m a GL31, that was laid off. My last day is late November. I have been with Optum for six years, and have been in various roles (including two integrations). During that time I’ve accumulated a decent amount of stock options (all currently worthless at the $400-500 strike price), and stock RSU grants. My next RSU vesting is Feb 21, and would have amounted to about $30K (at today’s share price). I also obviously am not getting a bonus for 2025.
My severance letter is offering to give me 12 weeks of pay, plus a week of unused vacation. No RSUs, etc.
My question is - before I sign my severance agreement, should I have a lawyer attempt to negotiate the inclusion of my RSUs as part of my package? Has anyone done or heard of this being a successful strategy?
I have 45 days after my last day to sign the letter. I feel I’ve put it the vesting time of six years waiting for these stock awards to vest, and that I should receive these RSUs that are just a couple months shy of vesting. Do I have any case?
Thanks for any advice you may have.
20 % Management layoffs By Nov 21
Crazy that 20% is a huge number it’s just the first stage of the management layer layoffs .But I hear it’s not even across the board. Some groups will lose less of that whole 20 some will make up a huge percentage.Sounds like the wireless corporate stores are gonna get hit really hard. But if you survive this pre Holiday round you are probably good into the New year .Best of luck .Keep your options open
Quite Quit or Leave Loudly
Leaving Loudly: Why I’m Gonr After a Decade
The End of a Chapter
Friday marks my last day after ten years of dedication, hard work, and consistently exceeding expectations—90% of my ratings were top-tier. Yet, despite the numbers, the experience left me drained and disillusioned.
Quiet Quitting vs. Loud Leaving
While many choose to “quietly quit,” I’m doing the opposite. I’m leaving loudly—not for drama, but because silence protects systems that harm. Speaking up matters.
The Human Cost
This ISP hasn’t been easy. It’s taken a toll on my aging parents, my spouse, and my kids. The emotional weight is real, and I won’t sugarcoat it: I’ve felt depressed and confused through this process.
One Piece of Advice
If you’re in a similar situation, know your worth and don’t ignore the signs. Blind loyalty can cost you years you’ll never get back.
A Hard Truth About Edward Jones
To my network: take a hard look at Edward Jones. High fees, outdated practices, and a culture that undervalues high performers have left me embarrassed I stayed so long. Tell your friends. Protect your future.
Closing Thoughts
Leaving is hard. Staying in a place that erodes your confidence and well-being is harder. Sometimes the loudest exit is needed.
6 to 7% layoff this quarter
I heard from a reliable source
11/12 Layoffs Thread
Yes, I know 11/12 is not a Tuesday but since 11/11 was a Holiday did the layoff for this week shift by one day?
Flaunting Alaska projects amidst layoffs
“….ConocoPhillips is seeking to drill four exploration wells near its giant Willow discovery this winter, the plans show, marking its return to aggressive exploration in Alaska as construction at Willow progresses with first oil expected in 2029.
The work comes despite the company’s decision this year to cut its workforce globally, including in Alaska, amid low oil prices.
This winter’s program in Alaska illustrates ConocoPhillips’ commitment to the state…”

Layoff at Leidos at NIWC
Due to budget cuts within the program I supported, my position—along with around 20 others—was recently eliminated. Over the past several months, the environment had become increasingly stressful as I noticed our team size steadily shrinking, so while this change was difficult, it wasn’t entirely unexpected.
They should have another voluntary round
So many people changed their minds and want out. It would make everything so much easer.
25 Laid off in Engineering.
Good luck all.
After Oct 28
Today was the first day I went to my Target store after the layoff. It was weird. All that proud and belonging feeling vanished. I quickly went in and out, grabbed a few items and left.... How are you all feeling? Honestly I don't thing I will continuing buying anything at Target after Jan 3. The way we were all treated in this layoff tell me a lot about the company's leadership we were working for.

Contractor
I was let go yesterday, was told that my contract will not be renewed. I know others who were also affected and I know some employees are being let go too. It's been though for a long time and I was afraid this will happen but now there is no more uncertainty but there is no more paycheck too. Husband is also unemployed right now and with two kids it will be hard to go through the holiday season as I am sure nobody is hiring before January. Good luck to all and I hope this madness stops with me.

GCC Layoffs
Venkat townhall had hints about GCC layoffs.
I know people are leaving on their own already.
What do you think will happen.
I am trying to be positive but it's so hard.
2000 Layoffs...Here's what would be wonderful if they would just be consistent and shared ...
1,000 Layoffs on 10/29
600 Buyouts
1,600 Personnel no longer on the books once Telefe and Chile TV network sold
Talk of 2,000 total Layoffs
Here's what would be great to know...just so all are aligned and working off the same page. We know that the 1,000 10/29 layoffs are part of the 2,000 layoff target. Are the 600 + 1,600 figures above considered part of the total 2,000 or are they completely separate? That's all we're asking DE + Exec Team to share. Are there 1,000 more to go in December of Q1 2026 or is the figure more or less???
East Adams Rural Healthcare could close
The potential layoff could impact 108 employees in early January. Positions include paramedics, EMTs and board members.

I think it's time to move on
I like my coworkers and my work, but I live in constant suspense. Every quarter I’m wondering if I’ll be next. The job market isn’t helping, so I feel like I should start looking now before this company pulls the rug out from under me. It’s stressful living like this.
Why are we having layoffs ahead of layoffs?
We're supposed to have layoffs on November 20, and yet every day somebody posts about this or that group being affected by cuts. Are people lying or is there really an ongoing pre-layoff happening, and if it is, what's its point?
got the invite
just left my meeting. it's done.
Houston layoffs
Have Houston layoffs started yet? Maybe they have changed their minds.

What's your preferred mentality going into a period of RIFs?
Do you act like you are going to get RIF'd? The upside is you are mentally ready if you do get RIF'd. The downside is you caused yourself weeks of stress and worry if you end up not getting RIF'd. Like the saying says, "worrying does not change tomorrow, but ruins today".
Or do you act like you're going to be just fine? The upside of this is no stress and worry. The downside is that it hurts even more if it does happen.
What is your mental state during this time?
Getting laid off senior PE
I know it was talked about with HC reductions but am a little shook my fault for not exploring the job market coming up to 10 years at intel, does anyone know details about severence packages that recently been laid off in Oregon? Is it the same as before?
November RIF
I’ve heard 11/13 or 11/20. Which is it? And what’s the scope and the extent?
What are your tips for moving on?
Like most I am worried about being laid off.
What advice can you think of for those who may not be in the best headspace of the worst happens.
Trying to ask a somewhat positive and practical question. I have many issues with the logic of some choices I’m aware of but they may end up being a different thread sometime.
