Laid off 3/5/26. Electronically submitted severence paperwork the next day. People say it takes 2-3 pay periods until it’s paid out. Is there any way to expedite?
Asking as I might take another internal position (I’m in the hiring process). You forfeit severance if you are hired back on BEFORE your severence pays out.
Would like to get severence AND get back on since the job market is terrible where I live.
Any suggestions from this group?
I submitted my paperwork electronically 3/9 and still waiting for payment.
@d6 that happened to me. They opened a case with HR and guess what, they "found" my paperwork. IDK if they play people out and hope they dont call looking for their payout
My last day was February 6, and I mailed my paperwork in the following Monday. Followed up yesterday -- they didn't receive it. Not sure why I waited so long. Double check to be sure they have your signed papers.
I called employee relations. They said if you do not have a start date before 3/19 you will get it. They also said mine would be pain on 27th
@OP there's a 15 day revocation period that you have and the company can't pay before that. So, you're approaching the end of that and I found they pay quickly after that -- like within days. Try to slow roll the job offer!
