Been working at the bank several years and my immediate team has had transitions either with new teams joining or leaving multiple times over the past 18 months. Tired of living in constant fear I’ll be next. I’m an analyst so a decently transferable role to another field in P&C or Life, I would think. Thinking of trying for an internal transfer but also worried that’ll put a target on my back if they have to do layoffs. I feel like working in the bank it’s just a matter of time.

Are office locations for internal job postings negotiable?
I see some jobs that only list the NYC or Frisco as office locations on Workday, are those negotiable at all? Wondering if I currently report to the Charlotte office and want to apply if I could stay here or would need to move.
Internal job postings
We have internal job postings all the time, but it’s becoming pretty obvious a lot of them already have someone in mind. People go through the entire process and then lose out to someone who seems pre-selected. Why even put it up if you already know who you're going to give it to?
Can I look for other opportunities within FIS after offer extension with Cognizant?
ANSWER (from the transition paperwork)
Cognizant has partnered with FIS in part for its talented resources—-you! As looking for other opportunities within FIS could impact our partnership and service delivery, both Cognizant and FIS have agreed to discourage associates from this practice once offered employment with Cognizant.
“Internal” vs “external”
I applied for a job during my 30 day post lay off, when I was still “internal”. I was in screening status and spoke with manager and was moving forward. Then my last official day came. Now I’m “external”. I just found out that this job isn’t hiring external applicants and can’t move forward. The recruiter supposedly tried to get approval. Not sure who or what is behind all these decisions but none of it makes sense.
Vasara risk project
Any intel/experiences on the Vasara project and the people that run it?
I may look to transfer over and wanted to know if it's a good team to join
Internal job transfers
Does anyone know if bosses can essentially block an associate from transferring to another internal job? No known freezes or limits within the department on transfers.
Severence - anyway to expedite?
Laid off 3/5/26. Electronically submitted severence paperwork the next day. People say it takes 2-3 pay periods until it’s paid out. Is there any way to expedite?
Asking as I might take another internal position (I’m in the hiring process). You forfeit severance if you are hired back on BEFORE your severence pays out.
Would like to get severence AND get back on since the job market is terrible where I live.
Any suggestions from this group?
No More PDRs?
There are now no more PDRs? What does this mean? Is it just another nail in the coffin of getting a new position/career progression? I guess there won’t be any need for them if there aren’t any jobs to post in a PDC.
Internal mobility
We are wrapping a big initiative and will be soon in enhancement mode.
And I'm not in same location as my manager and noticed we hired someone from other team who is in same location as bulk of the team.
While I feel this new person has a lot to learn I feel it seems like a tactic to replace.
I know I still have dependency in this team, if I try to switch via internal mobility can my manager stop the move citing dependency???
NorthEast VZW Transport/Network Assurance to Become VZB
Technicians in the North East that handle Network Assurance/Transport are now being moved to the VZB Union position. Not all details have been fleshed out but your VZW Switch techs will now be VZB
I had high hopes
I had high hopes that there would be some improvements with the new regime but they are every bit as indecisive as the last batch of lackeys. The 1B area is a mess with people running around chasing their tails because their new boss lady can't make a decision and the leads are scrambling too. I sure hope Steve Sparkes' powers of observation are sharp and he picks up on the issues in his org soon or he will be the next sacrificial lamb. People are holding on by a thread waiting for change but the good ones are polishing off their resumes and looking externally since the internal postings are a joke.
Written warning and internal transfer
Is it possible to transfer internally if the hiring leader is ok with someone having a written warning? this person knows my team is a total joke especially the ones who can’t think for themselves
Internal Transfer Exception
Anyome here moved to a new role internally after less than 12 months in current role? Or know of any colleague who did this.
Are internal job postings more competitive now than ever?
I applied/interviewed to 3 positions over the past 6 months, made it to the interview phase but never get selected. I have a friend who’s moved around a lot over the years, I figured it be relatively easy to get a role this way, especially if it’s a lateral move. Anyone else unable to move around? Do the hiring managers know who will be hired before they post it on workday? That’s kind of what I’m thinking how it works now, they know who will get hired but just open the position as a formality, wasting everyone else’s time who applied.
Or do I just have bad luck?
Internal open positions
Are these roles genuinely open, or are they being posted as a formality after someone has already been selected? I have applied to several and have not received any real response or feedback. What's going on here?
STEER
For those currently in the Transformation or tagged CO dedicated how many of you have received the STEER email? Trying to understand the actual substance of this seemingly nice program versus the stated goal of 'supporting internal transfers' Has anyone seen any concrete results or movements from it yet?
Also, for any former colleagues who were let go: did you receive this communication prior to your departure? Any insights or 'lessons learned' regarding what this email actually signals would be greatly appreciated.
Internal positions being given to RIF people?
Are the internal positions given to RIF-ed employees over other internal candidates? I have applied to a handful of new internal postings in recent weeks but only a few days go by and I get the "we're going with another candidate" email. I am fully qualified for these positions so I have been surprised to not even get an interview. I also know some positions are posted and they already know who the position is going to but that can't be for every single one of these postings.
And yes, I know, why are you applying to internal positions, this company is terrible, blah, blah, blah but I am trying to get a different position/title to better position myself to move to a different company in the future if I see fit or becomes necessary.
Also note, these positions I am applying to are only 1 pay grade above where I am.
Decreased Merit Percentage for Transferring Employee
Just looking for info/ opinions:
Does anyone else see a potential for management to reduce an employee's merit when the said employee will be transferring to a different department/ segment in 3 weeks?
Example: Management was capped at giving 1% merit increases to their team; they reduce the merit percentage to the employee who is transferring to 0.5% and give the difference to the other employees.
Does anybody know when is the next PDC?
Need to move on from my current role.
Can you negotiate for higher pay when accepting another internal role?
Or do you just normally keep your current salary/bonus?
I see the salary range posted on Workday, not sure if the recruiter would ask for salary requirements beforehand.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Can VZB (mgmt) get hired internally for VZT (union) jobs?
It shows the jobs, categorized as “Mgmt Level: UNN” in Workday. If so, does CWA recognize years of service?
Alternative positions
I've been in a role as administrative support the past 5 years and feel as though my days may be numbered. I've tried applying out but I've heard that any administrative clerks and support are stuck. I've applied for about 20 different positions over the last year and have been with the company 10 years with a solid resume. No interviews at all. I am worried my role is not significant enough for them and would not be surprised if they RIFd me. Has anyone else experienced this feeling like you're being blocked?
Current manager rejected my internal transfer opportunity
Anything I can do about this? I was told by the new manager that she wanted to hire me and was going to speak with my current manager to talk about transition plan while they find someone to backfill my role. Now I'm being told that I can no longer transfer since what I support is critical and they wouldn't be able to hire someone fast enough.
Now I feel stuck- any recourse or am I SOL and just need to apply externally at this point? From what I've read here seems like current manager can't block/stop you from applying /accepting other roles but seems like it depends on your situation/which team you would be leaving, I guess if it's critical and you have no backup it's not possible.
Applied to an internal role- how what?
How long should it take for me to get an interview and potentially get hired? When should I tell my current manager? Before I apply or once I get an offer ?
Internal move in the mist of layoffs
I got an offer to internally transfer from OCI to the DB org, should I take it? Or just wait for the head chopping while preparing for the outside world?
Seeking Advice From T-Mobile Business Peeps
Hello,
I apologize if this is the wrong board for this post. I currently work for Verizon Business as senior account manager. I am considering transferring to t-mobile business as an account executive on the smb team as a req will be opening soon due to attrition. I am currently making about 120k per year but want to leave due the extremely toxic management culture I inherited from our recent round of layoffs. My question is mainly, can I expect to make around similar pay at 120k at TFB on the smb team or will it be a pay cut? I greatly appreciate any insight have a blessed day.
Help me out please
I work in downstream, was given a date for severance in april due to reorg. Managers said I could post out internally but if I’m not selected. I will receive my severance. I was out on fmla leave last week, then I get the news today. I was escorted out. Is it normal to have gcc, phone, laptop, GI card and facility access taken? How would I be able to apply internally? Or was it a way of saying you’re fired? I have a lot of people depending on me. Just looking for help. 36 year old. Been with shell 7 years going on 8, not no more it looks like. Lol
One of 3 folks I know were laid off today
They gave us 90 days to find an internal role. This period is with base pay and benefits. Then 3 months severance package.
How easy is it to transfer internally to a different role/team?
Am I better off applying externally?
Internal Mobility Questions
If I am affected by RIF, will I need my managers approval to apply internally even with less than a year tenure?
If less than a year as 601 can I move up to 602?
Can management block/prevent you from transferring to a different team?
Looking to apply to another team internally but wondering if I don’t have any backup if management would prevent me from being transferred over.
BA role with Fiserv DNA Experience
What does a Business Analyst do, supporting Fiserv DNA? Is it difficult to catch on if I have BA experience but not specific to DNA experience? I'm thinking about doing an internal transfer for this role but would like to hear feedback from one that has been in a similar role.
P4/P5
Has anyone recently had a “manager” lose their title and been placed into a P4 or P5 bucket? If so do they still have access to all tour HR information?
Internal transfer with 4
Hi, anyone know the course of action I can take in the below situation -
- I applied and cleared an interview in October 25
- The hiring manager confirmed and reached out to my manager and I am not sure what exactly the conversation was but after a week when I followed up I got the answer due to some 'unavoidable' reason they're not considering me. (Hiring manager told "from my side I gave it a 'Go' and reached out to your manager too but there are other factors involved in it and sorry can't disclose it")
- I have been given a 4 (mid year was good)
While I can gauge what would have happened in October my question is how to prevent it going forward (if seeing my 4 and those false comments anyone approached me) anything I could do? [I am trying out too]
New Rebrand & expansion for Wealth Management?
Are they taking internal transfers or only series 7 from other RIA's? What's their new branding gonna be? "Telling clients the truth.......since 2021?"
What's happening with internal mobility?
We are told we can apply for internal roles, but then every posting disappears or gets filled before anyone even interviews. Before, you had a chance to move either laterally or upwards within the company, but now that seems to have completely disappeared. Is this intentional?
Transfering internally
If you make a lateral move, does your pay remain the same? Does bonus % change? Not sure if anyone here has experience, but considering applying to an adjacent role (Currently a Senior System Analyst) but the role I'm looking to apply is a regular System analyst. Not sure what that would mean pay wise. Does everyone at TIAA get the same bonus %?
Internal hiring
Does completing four rounds of interviews usually indicate I’m likely to receive an offer for an internal position?
Internal Job postings ( if/ when)
Has anyone heard of when they might post new jobs? How has it been in the past when a layoff happens?
