Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Timeline for internal hiring

I’m about 2 months away from my 1-year mark at Citi and starting to think about internal opportunities. Can I apply before I officially hit 1 year, or do I have to wait?

does your manager only find out if you get an offer, or are they notified at some point during the interview process?

@13q “Source: trust me bro.”

These posts always follow the same script: anonymous insider, dramatic claims, zero evidence, and somehow every rejected candidate was magically “the most qualified.” Convenient.

As of May the "1 year in role" restriction has been officially removed.

DEI hiring is real and exists not only in Citi, but also other companies.

DEI hiring is reverse-discrimination. But it's discrimation nevertheless!

I'm in charge of keeping track of metrics reporting for hiring and employee count.

Occasionally, the department is ordered to bypass a more qualified Non-DEI job candidate for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice DEI candidate.

This means if the top 3 job candidates are Non-DEI and the 4th is DEI, but the Department's employee counts and distributions show the Dept. needs to show/have an additional DEI employee, the top 3 job candidates will Not be offered the job.

These policies place Citi in weak positions against its competitors. The above policies are akin to choosing your 2nd, 3rd or even 4th best athlete to compete or be placed on the country's Olympic Team while still believing the country's team has a shot at a getting a medal or even Gold medal.

LMFAO!

Only Fools 🤡 do this.

Common sense dictates you doNot let your weak or weakest players/athletes compete against the other teams because the other teams certainly have their best players on the battlefield.

But then Citi has Never had common sense or "intelligence".

Don’t listen to others, if you have what it takes, you will get the role. The ones commenting on DEI have skills issues, they are scared of a lil competition and worried about their privileges running out. About time

@kn or you can be the kind that takes children to an island, those kind of people gang up pretty well too. Ran a successful gig for a while. Trying to replicate that in Albania too. Pdfs going to pdfs 🤟

Good luck. Hope you are a DEI candidate as that’s really the only way.

There is no real hiring. You have to belong to the same caste as of your Indian manager or a favorite of some manager. Otherwise, no promotions. Almost all the jobs posted in the internal portal and in external websites are FAKE and they are usually for the internal conversions such as H1B, L1, TN Visa , EAD etc..

They don't get notified you've applied for a role, and there's nothing that obligates the hiring manager to say anything to the current manager.

It’s more a function of the number of times you’re getting your manager off in a given 4-week period. You better be at least 1.5-2x/week, at least one orally, if you’re thinking about moving up.
