That’s pretty much it. What a joke.

Downsizing real estate
I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on the latest RTO development, at least in the U.S. where an announcement was made this week of selling a couple of the buildings in Greenville, but re-stating the RTO of 4 days per week. This seems odd to me, in that I don't see how you can force more people into significantly less space? In addition, I understand there will be no dedicated desks, making this objective even more complicated. Anyone have any insight?
4 -Day RTO / Hotel Desking - Here to Stay?
The combination of strict 4+ Day return to office AND hotel desking is the double whammy of bad news. Think one or both could die off down the road? A lot of companies are doing 3 days with assigned desks, which I feel is far more reasonable. Hate to think this is the new normal indefinitely…
Structural Cost Savings
With continuing structural cost savings, what is the predicted future of our Spring Campus?
What is going with the Boston office???
I've read at least a dozen different things - What's going to happen? They signed a 20-year lease for the office space and it's by far the most attractive office we have IMO.
please stop pressuring the remote pilot guys to waste office space
It's disrespectful to both the remote workers and those of us who need the desk space. Remote is remote, we allocate and budget the space for a reason ffs.
Houston acquiring Space in Cypress TX?
I heard a rumor that Chevron is going to secure office space in Cypress. Has anyone else heard that? I’d like to know if that’s true before I relocate.
Exxon is making room as it readies for more employees at Pioneer campus
An oil company whose headquarters are in the ClayDesta area is getting ready to bring in hundreds of new employees — they just need a place to park.
Approximately 250 employees are set to move from XTO Energy’s offices at 6401 Holiday Hill Road to the former Pioneer Natural Resources offices at 3617 N. Big Spring St.
ExxonMobil, which acquired Pioneer last year and is the parent company of XTO, is preparing to accommodate those additional employees. The company has broken ground on a new parking lot south of the Pioneer building that will have 300 additional spaces. Completion of the new parking lot is expected before next summer.
ExxonMobil is spending $10.4 million on interior renovations to the second level of the Pioneer building to accommodate the XTO employees. Completion is expected by the end of the year.
“(The renovations) reflect our ongoing commitment to our local employees and the Permian Basin community,” officials told the Reporter-Telegram. “We’re better together and, through this move, are prioritizing collaboration, knowledge sharing, productivity and company culture.”
All local ExxonMobil employees are expected to be accommodated at the corporate office, as well as the former Pioneer Midkiff location at 2625 County Road 180 in Garden City and 4815 E. Highway 80.

Do we get to pick a cube anywhere in the building? This is almost as exciting as deciding where to park all my brand new cars. Oh wait.
Want to work in a refinery every day?
Key point missing is where this building at Strathcona will be given there’s really no excess office space.
You will likely be in a blastproof building (like the current office building) and subjecting yourself to questionable air quality for the remainder of your working life.
Also refinery work cultures are a beast of their own, many in bad ways.
This the life you really want… in Edmonton?
BNY sublet at WTC
BNY has officially taken on a sublease from Condé Nast for four floors totaling over 192,000 square feet at One World Trade Center.
They claim this is to support renovations at 240 G… but that doesnt add up.
RV spending money over working remote.
It seems the RTO space issue will be solved.
5 days a week in office coming next.
One tenant for QP
Kiewit employees in Calgary have been told they are moving into QP office sometime soon.
I am guessing they will take West or North building. Kiewit is small enough in Calgary to fit in one building.
Hoteling?
Chevron has become such a benchmarking company and focused on following others that it seems to have forgotten how to think for itself. Now we’re adopting this outdated ‘hoteling’ concept, where desks are unassigned and there’s less workspace than people. How dehumanizing is that? We’re required to be in the office at least four days a week, yet our assigned offices and cubes are taken away. This leftover strategy from the hybrid work era makes no sense. Wake up, Chevron…
Removing furniture from "Lounge Areas"
Anyone know why they're removing the furniture from the "lounge areas" on the floors? More desks going in there or something else?
The search is on in Dallas suburbs
“I AT&T is looking at office space in the suburbs, two people with knowledge of the situation have told The Dallas Morning News, even as its CEO remained silent Friday regarding speculation about the Dallas-based telecommunications company reducing its downtown presence.
A move by AT&T could see its more than 2 million-square-foot presence in downtown Dallas shrink in some fashion. AT&T had nearly 6,000 workers assigned to its downtown Dallas offices in 2022.”
Chevron 4 days/wk beginning Jan. 1 - will Shell follow?
Go read on the Chevron board—-looks like they are going to have to be in the office 4 days/week beginning January 1st.
Will Shell in the US follow? I think there may be space issues in the UK, so I don’t think they can implement it there,
RTO Poland
Info for my Amercian friends. In Poland there will be an application for desk reservation. We dont have enought desks for all the employes and with 4 days in office coming it looks like this is their solution. Just saying that it may be used in your localizations
Fights breaking out at Ford over work stations
I've heard of several fights breaking out over workstations since there are not enough at most buildings. Tempers are flying and surely Farley is loving the chaos to get people to quit so not to pay severance and unemployment.
No Parking Long Beach Office
Long Beach office no parking. Park in overflow is the solution proceed to overflow no parking. Ford Land was more concerned with hanging curated art vs parking.
Ford Credit building at capacity today
FN1 and FN2 were at max capacity today and then some. The (small) cafeteria was full of workers using the tables as their desk for the day, folks were working at corners of desks and had to sit away from their teams. This was at 8:45 AM, not 10 AM. It's so hard to focus during endless Teams class while folks are wandering around trying to locate a desk or spot to camp out. Someone likened it to the Spirit Airlines of office places.
Thanks 3M for well thought out back to office
There are no places to sit. There was no thought put into this. Very disappointing
What’s going on in Wilson NC?
Lots of folks have heard rumors that the folks in the Wooten bldg are moving to the Forest Hills bldg. They have even gotten rid of their daytime cleaning crew. I thought they were revamping that bldg. what happened? They certainly haven’t done anything to the Forest Hills one. Slap some purple paint on a wall and call it a day. Will they revamp the Forest Hills bldg if we are all under one roof?
Curious - available parking near Bo Jackson
Former Nike, now retired. I use the gyms, and I’m curious - there always seems to be plenty of parking available on the south lot (by Nolan Ryan/Mike Schmidt). Are those buildings less used than others on campus?
RR5 3W
Email went out today outlining the company's plans to finally eliminate the 90s cubes on RR5 3rd floor, starting with 3W on August 29.
The good news is that employees will get to WFH during reconstruction.
The bad news is that the desk count on 3W will almost double in the same amount of space.
China works on 996 work schedule, in Offices.. Ford Land can not even support RTO after spending 5 billion dollars
JF talked abt RTO to counter China's 996 culture... 9am to 9pm; 6 days/ week. Meanwhile, Ford land's facilities people are busy harrasing employees by pasting "clean this space" notes on non-assigned cubes. Hello ---- who is supposed to do it... space is not assigned to anyone. They seem to enjoy their new found policing authority !! Ford Land is responsible for lack of proper RTO planning. Rest rooms are mess. Garbage bins removed to reduce the workload. Cleaning personnel seen chit chatting near coffee machines most of the day. Ford Land is a mis-managed organizatioin. So much for Customer Focus and work ethics. They need to administer an employee survey dedicated for facilities related work-experience. Instead, Ford Land leaders come to townhalls Q&A, and brag about their great RTO execution.
