Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Hello Schulman, Details to NYC Office Space Leased, True or False??

The figure of $115 per square foot refers to the asking rent for the new Verizon corporate headquarters office space in Manhattan's Penn 2 tower, a lease signed in July 2025.

Verizon signed a 19-year lease for more than 195,000 square feet across the 8th through 10th floors of the Penn 2 building, located near Penn Station.

The asking rent for this specific office space was reported to be $115 per square foot.

Approximately 1,000 corporate employees are expected to work in the new location starting in 2026, consolidating existing offices from other Manhattan locations.

@j1 well Hans was still in charge when the NYC lease was signed, and the months and months leading up to that...soooooooooo thats why.

@OP- $115 a square ft in NYC is a bargain. But, all leases on new or existing locations are being reviewed. Easy to buy out of a lease, its happened before.

I dont understand how leadership went from "oh we are opening a new office in NYC" to laying off tons of people in a matter of 4 months. Are VZ executives really that clueless? They didnt see that they are losing subscribers to competitors few months in advance? It went from spend spend spend to oh we have to lay off because we are overspending. How stupid is that
