Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

People are having to fight for a seat in the offices?

So you're mandated to go into the office and you don't have assigned seats? I saw someone say they have to go in before 7am in order to get a seat? Diabolical.

Could have been easily fixed by letting everyone stay remote. As successfully demonstrated with covid.

email went out for Chandler that in-office is now 2 days per week due to overcrowding. Yeah, if you get in past 8-8:30 good luck finding a cube or parking. To make matters worse, my building has an entire floor that has been empty/unusable for over 6 months so they can put in those stupid new desks (no cubes). The first floor is reserved from some group but complete empty and no people. I guess nobody thought that eliminating seating and requiring 3 days in office would cause problems.

We received an email for the Rose Garden office about the lack of seating. The email said, and I wish I was joking, try coming in on different days. Hahahahaha. Which McKinsey reject wrote that? I bet it took two weeks and 5 people to write that email. I’ll come in on Someday and Oneday. Does that work for you?

that’s really interesting because on another posting, it says that there is one can only work 8-4 or 9-5 over a four day week. If there’s already seat issues with a three day week schedule, how can they mandate the hours just set forth for a four day week schedule

Iselin is a cesspool. Smells like rotten a$$. Thankfully the office is an igloo so those smells don’t incubate. People get in a 5 am to get seating. You walk in at 7:30 on a Wednesday you are SOL due to the Bangladesh crowd. What a culture this current regime has created!!
They want my resignation but I’mma get slouched instead.

They've heard that criticism, and their plan is to solve it by firing all those dispersed employees and then replace them with a colocated team in India to do all that work.

Better? No, but that's how HY thinks. They hate us and want us all gone. No matter what it takes.

@OP get use to going into the office. Senior leadership wants all employees back in the office. There will be plenty of seats after all the firings and layoffs

@c5 why just tech? And are you saying tech isn't functional? Sounds about right actually.

You can't even walk the floors in Chandler or open the restroom door without some id--t knocking into you or hitting you with the door.

It's such a game. More and more of the "favored ones" are mysteriously ending up with assigned desks. Go in early if you can and play the game for only as long as it takes to find an employment situation that isn't toxic to your health and psychology.

Modern hard labor. Your boss is laughing in their own office.

The irony is, Charlie and Scott want everyone in the office so employees can be more “collaborative,” but jokes on them as most teams are scattered across multiple sites and employees often find themselves totally isolated, not knowing a single person at their site.

Tech workers can work remotely, while the functional teams come into the office all week, which would solve the seat‑assignment and parking spot issues.

So are people really saying come in earlier? Uh, so when everyone comes in earlier then you still have the same problem.

Once they fire more people it wont be a problem. Dont worry about it, go in earlier, and be thankful you still have a job.

Get in early. Problem solved. Better traffic, better parking, and you get situated where ever you want go post dribble on this website all day.

I’m in at 6 AM in Irving Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. If you come in later than 7 you may as well leave.

But think of all the cross-functional collaboration and corporate culture elevation opportunities that exist for you while you wait!

My floor is completely full every day!
If you are not in by 8am you are scrapping for a seat. Now everyone is using focus rooms and meeting rooms.

There was a waiting line at the door in one location. Sort of like waiting to be seated at a restaurant. Complete waste of resources and efficiency.
